I fly home a few times a year to visit family in the Napa Valley. I used to fly into Oakland, but now I choose Sacramento. The airport is easy to navigate, and suttle buses run quickly to get you to the car rental hub. Fly into this airport and miss a lot of the Bay Area traffic crunch as well.

I recently used Super Shuttle of Sacramento to transfer from the airport to the DoubleTree Hotel. Super Shuttle maintains a kiosk at the airport where you can book your ticket. I found the counter staff to be helpful and the driver was also very curteous. Most importantly, he was a safe driver. Nothing like having a crazy drive to make your vacation less than relaxing. The interior of the vans were clean and comfortable and with powerful A/C. I would definatley use them again if I needed their services in Sacramento.

The San Diego airport is great, in that it truly is in the heart of downtown. No long drives into town like in some other metro area. You can even catch a city bus to take you to down town for just a few bucks. Terminal 1 is usually hectic because that is where Southwest is. Terminal 2 is newer and always has great art to look at. Also in terminal 2 you will find fun rocking chairs to hang out in while you wait for your plane. Everything is close at hand ... not a lot of walking. Food selections are ok at best.

This particular location has a lot of seating, including a nice outdoor area. Parking at Fashion Valley Mall can be tough, particulary during holiday time. Otherwise, this place is always a good bet.

I am sure the architect of this place meant for it to be a crazy maze where you would have to walk by eveyr shop to find your way out of here ... kind of like an IKEA. Having said that, Horton Plaza offere a nice array of shops. I have found staff at this center to be helpful. You get a couple of hours of free parking with validation. If you have some other shopping to do in the Gaslamp, park at the centers garage and then pick up some gum or a greeting card at Long's (on the bottom level near the Starbucks) to get validated. This is a great place to escape the summer heat. Lots of different water attractions to satisfy the whole family. There is a wave pool, floating/lazy river, wild tube rides and more. My complaint is that the food options are pretty limited. Better to pack your own picnic and enjoy it out in the car during a break.The park has lots of lounge chairs so you can relax as well. Check the webpage for specials. Season passes are also available if you are a water park junky!

Also, the provide a big information booklet with the dog, and are always available to answer question after the adoption.
