Our wedding ceremony and reception was here at River Crest at the corner of Avon and Livernois in Rochester Hills. I picked this reception hall mainly for the beautiful landscaping out side. There was a patio with an arch which is where we walked down the aisle and had the actual ceremony. The back drop was green, lush trees. When we went to have our pictures taken afterward, there was green grass, trees, bushes, and blooming flowers everywhere. There is also a river that runs through the back. I was very pleased with how the pictures came out and a big part of that is because of where we were. The reception went very smoothly too. For a bride, it's important not to be bothered and feel stressed out. I was very laid back throughout the whole night. The food was great, the staff was great, it couldn't have been better!

We wanted to have a non-religious wedding ceremony for our outdoor wedding. I looked around for different officiants and wasn't really sure how to pick one. Then one of my friends told me she had used Victoria Wedding Chapel for her garden wedding. She recommended Don Kevern. I called right away and got some information from them. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost, cheaper than most that I had seen. I was also happy to hear that he would be sending us a copy of the words to the ceremony. It was nice to be able to read it ahead of time so that I would know what was going to be said on the wedding day. We were also able to add and delete things as necessary. I changed one part "to love and to cherish til death do us part" to "to love and to cherish all the days of my life." I thought that sounded much better and was happy I was able to do so.

We used President Tuxedo at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights for the groomsmen, fathers and of course my husband's tuxedo for our wedding day. They went a few months early to get measured and pick out they style they wanted. They got a pretty good deal, all around $100 each and included everything they would need. The best part is that if you have enough groomsmen rent tuxedos the grooms is free. So my husband got his for free and only had to pay the $8 to get it cleaned. So that was a great deal. So I thought everything was going great...until 2 days before the wedding they had all of a sudden "over-rented" the ties they had picked out. This was probably my one and only true bridezilla moment. I freaked out when they suggested we could "buy" the same ties in the store for $30 each. I don't think so! I suggested they let us use the ties and we could bring them back as a rental and they would just have to order more ties that they could sell. Well apparently they didn't agree. We ended up getting some rental ties in a different shade of the color we wanted. It ended up fine, but it shouldn't have happened, since we pre-ordered months in advance. They didn't even compensate us with money off, coupons, or anything. The prices were good, but I don't think I'd use them again.

I had my wedding photos done by Debbie and they came out great. She was very accommodating and came to the hotel with us to get pictures of us getting ready, ran over to the hall to get the pictures with the guys and then stayed for the ceremony and reception. She used both film and digital cameras for the wedding and both types came out great. I liked that she didn't set a maximum amount of pictures. If there was something she liked and wanted to get a picture of, she didn't have to think, oh wait I only have 5 left...I better save them for something else. She did unlimited shots with us, I think we ended up with around 600 pictures. They all really captured the day and how beautiful it was. These pictures are one of my greatest treasures!

This place has been re-done in the last few years and it has a lot more to do and is much more fun. You can go there to bowl, have a drink, sing karaoke, play pool, darts, etc. It's not just a bowling alley anymore. I like that when I go here I always see someone I know, so lots of people must like to hang out here! The cosmic bowling is really fun and the music is upbeat. There are 2 different bars-one with a dance floor which usually either has a DJ or Karaoke. The other bar is the "sports" bar and is a little bit smaller than the other one. I would recommend coming here for a fun time!

I went here with a group of friends for the first time over the weekend. This restaurant just changed names, from Tony's Diner. We thought we would check it out to see if any changes had been made. The inside of the restaurant looked the same. Small, decorated kind of tacky with fake flowers, but clean and that's the most important. The menu was new and different. They had great breakfast meals for cheap-I think there was even one for $2.25. I ended up getting a Belgian waffle with strawberries and whip cream. It was very good. Better than the ones I love getting at Big Boy. Everyone else's food looked very good as well. I would come back here again.

When you come here, you always leave feeling stuffed and with a take out box. I enjoy going to both the Romeo and New Haven locations. The Romeo restaurant is open for breakfast and has a little larger menu. New Haven, however, is only open for lunch and dinner but they also have a bar there, and Romeo does not. The food selection is HUGE at either place. You can find something for everyone. You will be pleasantly surprised when you get your food. Everything is in such big portions. I went to the New Haven location tonight and got my usual, Crispy Chicken Tender Salad. It was really good as usual, with it piled high on my plate. The service here is also really good. I would highly recommend coming here if you've never tried it.

Last year was our first home buying experience and Mortgage 1 couldn't have made it easier. We applied for a mortgage through our bank, Charter One first. On the day of our closing, a Friday, Charter One called and came up with all these things that they had never even mentioned before. They wanted the builder to give a deposit for this, and us to do this, and they hadn't even sent out the inspector yet. We weren't able to close that day and were pretty disappointed, we had to cancel our appliance delivery and everything. We were then recommended to Mortgage 1. They put together our mortgage, easier, nicer and much more quick than Charter One. We were able to close the next Friday! That was very quick work! They were able to do way more in less than a week than what Charter One did in a month. If you are able to use Mortgage 1, I definitely recommend them, especially Lisa Whitman who helped us out!!!

Unfortunately, there isn't a Meijer or Target near by. I think Kmart has always had bad service. My recent experience there just confirmed this. I had gone there a few months ago to get some paint made when I got the urge to paint my living room. I went back this past month to get some more of the same color, but they were out of the base to make it (which they ran out of when they made it the first time-so I'm thinking they never re-ordered after that). So then I went back again this week to see if they had it in. I wandered around the store for probably 20 minutes until I found someone that could help me make the paint. It was like the workers were non-existant. I found someone to make the paint, but then they didn't have the quart size of the paint mix, only the gallon. They just never really seem to have what I want, and the service is poor. I would go to Target or Meijer any day over them. I only go here when I need something right away.

Since we have moved farther east we have stopped going to AMC Forum 30. We now go to MJR Chesterfield Crossing. Although it is much smaller and doesn't offer as many movies or variety of movie times, there are many positives to it. For one thing, it has all the qualities that AMC has, like stadium seating, but the ticket prices are cheaper. I believe a student ticket is $6.50 and an adult ticket is $7.50. Also their popcorn, pop, or combo deals are much cheaper than AMC. You can also get free refills on your pop and popcorn which makes it much more reasonable. Since its a smaller theater, its hardly ever packed either. I enjoy coming here!
