Their lunches are kind of like Panera's, but the dinners are sit-down served ones. The bread is fantastic! My absolute favourite! You can just eat bread alone, and ask for a takeout home.
Sandwiches are generally rather healthy, and they offer a healthy snack with them (carrots,celery), or their chips (ah... too good to pass :). Good selection of salads, too. So, if you know Panera - this is a step up in healthiness, attitude, quality, ambiance, and the same prices.

I was in Chicago theater for performing arts for a tango festival. The parking around is kind of a pain to find, but the theater itself is rather nice and cosy (small, too - the main auditorium has room for maybe 150 people). The upholstery is neat and clean, and the seating arrangement is the best I'd seen - enough legroom, wide seats, and very high incline. We sat in the back row, and could see everything perfectly! I wish more theaters were that comfortable!

We went to Red Rooster yesterday, and I can honestly say it's a hole-in-the-wall...It was supposed to be inexpensive, but their menu was different from their menu online and MUCH costlier. I got cabernet salmon, which was ok. My company had steak. "Medium", in French, apparently, means "rare", so it was REALLY nothing to write home about. The highlighes of the visit were the baked brie appetizer (baked in a pastry, served with sauce), and the toasted bread they give everyone. I didn't feel it was that good a value, and the dark cluttered room left me depressed!

I got a package for $20 there: a 10-minute water massage, and a 10-minute oxygen bar session.
Water massage was fun, although a bit loud (they give you earphones), and seemed a bit long. But, I get bored quickly.
Oxygen bar didn't smell like ozone (for some reason I thought it would), and each station had 4 smells to mix into your oxygen. I switched 2 stations, since the first one only had one option I liked: overall, juniper berry and exotic fruit mix were the best.
But the best thing was that during the oxygen session, the guys who worked there gave everyone back massages with special rollers, then sprayed icy mist on your shoulders, and put a hot-sand pillow on top, while giving you a head-massage with those wire-tinlge things. It was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep - sitting...
So, for relaxation - highly recommended. You can get just the oxygen bar for $15, and still rise from the dead in that time...

Well, I'm always on the prowl for good and inexpensive food. Here's what I got here:
- lunch cost $14 ($16 after tax);
- yellowtail, salmon and tuna abound (I made sushi into sashimi by eating only fish, but not rice... Where else can you get all-you-can-eat yellowtail sashimi!?!);
- Individual habachi by order (didn't have that, was too full, but it sounded good);
- crepe station (they do not skimp on whipped cream, no way!);
- great dessert station (complete with green tea-and-red-bean cake, white chocolate with green tea, and espresso cake that would wake the dead);
- plenty of fruit.
My only small complaint was that their sushi rolls and salads were not impressive at all, and I saw a few (clueless) people eating less-then-stellar items. But if you know your way around a sushi bar, you'll get you money's worth. Twice :)

I got the room in Tropicana much cheaper than any other place on the Strip would offer... But the place had ups and downs.
Ups:
- good price;
- convenient location;
- clean room, lotsa mirrors all around (above the bed too);
- oversize bath;
Downs:
- The line for check-in is long. No, Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-on-n-n-ngg-g-g-g. If it takes you less than 45 minutes to check in, you're lucky (and you're probably checking in at 4am).
- they charge $2 on top of the room price for 'any in-room calls'. I showed them my cell phone with a national plan and told them they can take the phone out of my room, for all I cared. They still made me pay $2. WHY?!?!
- no coffeemaker in the room.
- gym isn't free (that's the first hotel that did that to me!)
- In order to get to your room, you have to navigate through a casino floor, which requires the dead reckoning skill of ancient polynesians: nothing indicates where anything is, and there's a heavy smoke all around.

Here's the deal: you get taken on an honest-to-goodness ocean swim with the wild ocean dolphins. You are taken there by marine biologists, who know a ton about all marine animals. They teach you how to behave, explain the behavior of dolphins, and other animals. In short, it's great!
Now, you're not guaranteed to see the dolphins - the morning (after they let you snorkel in the ocean for a bit, to make sure everyone is comfortable with the experience) starts with trying to find them. Our boat went to the ve-e-ery tip of the island in the search! Once you find them, you have to hope they are in 'milling behaviou' (i.e. half-asleep, just chilling during the day - they are nocturnal, and hunt at night away from the shore). Well, even if they are in the lazy mood, you have to swim with all your might to keep up :) Our swim ended in 5 minutes - they left us wa-a-ay behind, and I was sure I was a darn good swimmer!
But, we also saw ocean turtles nose-to-nose (they are curious about snorkelers), and even a whale shark (this one milled under our sailboat for a bit, guess it was curious too). All in all, a wonderful experience, even if I found out dolphins can outswim me in their sleep!

We took our first surfing lesson here. The guys were really laid-back and accomodating: we showed up at 4pm and tentatively asked if they'd be ok to give a lesson sometime... Within 5 minutes they put us in rashguards (GREAT idea!!!), gave us the boards, and after 3-minute (on the sand) lesson we were in the water.
They explained everything so well, and were helping along great (they find a wave for you, and push you into it, so that you almost don't have to paddle at all) - I was standing up on the board by my second try! After that, it was a breeze - I was learning to go faster or slower on the board, and not to fall at the end of the ride :)
In the end, since there were just 2 of us at the lesson, they just gave us all the pictures for the price they usually charge from 1 person.
Great instructors, and nice people! Highly, highly recommended!

The whole place was a joke! The pie was something like what you get at Walmart on mainland, chewy gum... The place was shabby and small... I really can't figure it out! What do they find in this? Everywhere but in Hawai'i this bakery would be a dime a dozen!

I'd expected a much - er - posher place, judging from their website... As it is, Surf-n-sea is a wooden shack, a size of a largish garage, right by the road in Haleiwa. The staff, however, are knowledgeable, and there's tons of things to be bought. Large selection of guys' surfwear; not so much for women. Tons of boards 'n all. The prices a rather high, though!
