This location is no exception & it's a beautiful property located directly on a quiet beach. If you are looking for the excitement of South Beach, Key Biscayne is not your place. But if you want to stay on a more serene beach where you can have a server bring you a daiquiri as you sunbathe, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne will be heavenly to you.
Just be prepared to spend in excess of $25 per night to valet your car! Their valet rates are excessive, even by Miami standards.

Miami-Dade Public Library System online is a very helpful website. Once you have a library card, you set up an online PIN & go from there. You can search available books & media by author, subject, or title, then place items on reserve and indicate which branch you want the book delivered to. You can also renew your books online. There are some small glitches in the search function & the "my list" function, but overall it's a great site.
MDPLS just launched an online digital library where you can download titles directly to your home pc, free of charge. I have not used this service yet, but I intend to download the software very soon. It seems like an amazing option.

If you love shoes, this is THE best place to buy fantastic shoes at fantastic prices! No, you won't find Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos here, but you will find aisle after aisle of the same name brands you find at the malls for at least 25% off. Whenever I go to DSW, I make a beeline straight for the clearance racks in the back of the store. This is where you'll find shoes marked an additional 25-75% off. I got a great pair of $200+ Cole Haan heels for only $30 from those clearance racks, so don't pass them up!
Another thing I like about this particular store is they are well-staffed. You will always see staff members walking the aisles, putting shoes back in the proper place, offering assistance & shopping bags to help you hold all the shoe boxes you're bound to have in your hand after a few aisles.

Even though it's not my favorite mall in Miami (Aventura Mall wins that "honor" - see my review), Dadeland Mall is the mall I frequent the most. Dadeland is like your typical suburban mall, but kicked up a notch. The top reason I like Dadeland Mall? Sephora, The Cheesecake Factory, Nordstrom, Macys, Chick-Fil-A, & Chicken Kitchen all at one place just miles from my house.

There are less than ten MAC Pro stores in the country & we are lucky enough to have one right in South Beach. MAC Pro stores offer a much wider range of products than you can find at any department store MAC counter, especially items geared specifically for the Pro makeup artist.
Be sure to park at the parking lot on Seventh Street, between Collins & Washington. It's just around the corner from the store, and so much easier than trying to find street parking!

I was really happy when this Krispy Kreme location opened last year. According to the website, this store's donuts are "delivered fresh daily from a nearby factory store." Believe me, it makes no difference in the taste! The drive thru is open 24 hours - fantastic news for those late nighters looking for a snack after clubbing.
Krispy Kreme has expanded their menu to include espressos & frozen coffee blends. I was pleasantly surprised by their Latte frozen blend - great taste & not watery at all.

I've always had a great experience at this particular Miami Subs location. I've only gone through the drive thru, but the staff is always friendly, courteous, and always gets my order right even though I add certain special requests. This shouldn't be too much to ask, but we all know that customer service in many Miami establishments is very lacking.
Miami Subs has fantastic gyro sandwiches and I also love their spicy fries! If only they offered a bigger soft drink in their combo & had a location closer to my house, I'd eat there every day.

Moe's Southwest Grill is based upon the same premise as Baja Fresh (see my review) - fresh food prepared to order. The thing that makes Moe's different is the attitude - fun & boisterous. You will be greeted with "Welcome to Moe's!" by the staff each time you come in the door. The menu items all have hilarious names that reference pop culture - the Art Vandalay burrito (Seinfeld, anyone?), the Sherman Klump quesadilla, & The Full Monty taco for instance. Even the company website is eye-catching & fun.

After moving to Miami to attend grad school, my formerly stellar credit history took a major hit & within a couple of years, I was in credit trouble. I called Consolidated Credit Counseling Services after seeing their commercials & it was really simple to enroll in the program via phone and sending some info by fax. They get creditors to eliminate your over limit & late charge fees and lower your interest rate, sometimes dramatically (one my cards went from 18% to 1%). They are a non-profit organization, but you are charged a monthly fee for their services. However the amount saved by the decrease in interest rates greatly outweighs this fee in my case.
I've been on the program for about two & a half years at this point, so I called the other day to see where I stand with the creditors. The customer service rep who helped me was excellent - he answered all of my questions, gave me the information I requested, and made suggestions about how to get out of the program even sooner if I can now afford to pay a little more per month. CCCS also has a great website with lots of financial information and advice. I'd definitely recommend this debt management program to anyone who feels like they are headed towards trouble due to their credit issues.

I love the Baja Fresh premise - fresh products delivered daily, no refrigerators needed, no preservatives used, and your food made-to-order. It's not fast food like the drive-thru chains, but it is quick. And if you are in a hurry, you can call your order in by phone and pick it up. I really like their quesadillas & their tortilla chips. They have a small salsa bar & hot sauces available for those who like their TexMex really spicy.
