Oakencroft is the closest winery to Charlottesville, and it's also quite good! As the name implies, the wines have an oak component, which gives it a very nice taste. The employees are also very, very nice and friendly, quite knowledgeable about the wine, and willing to answer any questions you might have. I highly recommend this place if you want to go somewhere close to town.

I like Applebees food: it tastes pretty good. My favorite menu item is the blondie brownie dessert (I don't know if they even still have that, but it's delicious). All of the other menu items are good, but kind of boring: hamburgers, salads, quesadillas. There's usually nothing you would call "different" here. It can also be a little pricey, although not excessively so.

I often went to Chili's with my family, because my Dad has to limit his salt intake. Chili's is one of the few chain restaurants that actually has a variety of menu items he can eat AND enjoy. It's a typical American restaurant, with hamburgers and steaks, but they also have good fajitas as well.

Krispy Kreme has always been my favorite donut place. The donuts are fresh, soft, and glazed wonderfully. Not only that, they have some fantastic variations. You can get a butterfinger donut, an oreo donut, and some even stranger combinations for holidays (like halloween or easter). The donut varieties you can get at most donut shops, like chocolate-covered custard filled (my favorite) taste superb. Much better than any other chain donut place. Of course, if you are looking to eat healthy or watch your sugar intake, this is not the place for you!

I like O'Charley's a lot. While it seems very similar to other chain restaurants, the food is quite good and the atmosphere is nice. They have some great menu options. While I've been here a few times, and usually had fantastic service, I did have a bad experience once where the waiter was just plain rude: not because of anything we did, but he was rude from the moment we came over and acted like he really did not want to be there. Overall, though, since all the other times have been great, I'd recommend this place.

While it's greasy (you can't expect anything else from fried food), it's surprisingly tasty. You can often find coupons to get a good deal on a dinner here, and it's worth checking out.

This place has the best cinnamon rolls. They are soft and chewy, the icing is done just right, and they are made fresh. The store itself has a wide variety of basic items like makeup, basic foods (milk, OJ, candy), cleaning supplies and over-the counter medications. They have weekly ads which, if you peruse them, you can usually find something good for a good deal.
