This is not a very big zoo. They seems to be improving though. They just made a big addition last summer and they've added a few more animals earlier this year.
I have two young children, so I like the fact that they have a bunch of programs and special events lined up for kids throughout the year. My spouse takes the kids at least a few times a month and I like to go when I'm not working. Since the zoo is relatively small, we get through it fairly quickly-- something good in the summer months-- and the kids know where all the animals are.
I do recommend the clowns as well. The pony rides are good, too. This gets an A!

Birmingham Zoo is a nice zoo. It's not overly huge where you can't see everything in one day. Actually, you can probably make it through in just a couple hours-- less if you don't really read everything.
There are still going through a little construction, but most of the exhibits are open. The animal encounter is a great way to learn about and see up close different animals. They have a petting zoo and a lot of opportunities to feed animals (25 cents). They have a carousel ($2 per rider) and fountains that the kids love frolicking through. There are also a few areas where you can sit and enjoy a picnic lunch as well as a cafe and a snack bar.

I love shopping at Haynes Furniture. They have the best selection. They are easy to find as they are located at 5089 Tammy Little Drive. I love their location as it does have good parking, easy to get in and out. I was very impressed with them. Their prices are unbeatable. Besides selling furniture, they also sell appliances and do service and repair for appliances. I have used them for almost everything, and I have never had a problem with them. They are very courteous and prompt. They are very friendly and are very helpful. They had some models I had not seen before. Recommended business!

I do not like the name Finders Keepers Consignment Resale Store. For one thing, it's too long. And, for another thing, it is not really appropriate for a consignment shop. I was glad I stopped in here, though, as they have some items at reasonable prices. I have been several times, and I have always found great items. There are a lot of cheap clothing, and those items can probably be bought new for same price this shop charges. But all in all, I give this store three stars because like all stores, one can always find something he/she wants. The store was little hard to find. I just happened upon it one day.

Harrington Florist has the best delivery service in this area. They won't just drop and go. They make sure they have the right place and the right person. If that's not possible, they try and see if the person they are giving it to REALLY will make sure the recipient will get it (as in hospitals, if they can't go up). I love their florist as well. It's nice and they will work with you to get whatever you want if they don't already have it. I love their arrangements. They are very professional as they should be. Recommended business! Try Harrington Florist and don't worry about a thing. They will take care of it.

They have great parking, and the shop is wonderful. I like using Green's Florist because I feel I get more for my money. I have called and told them what I wanted and they made suggestions based on their current stock. I have actually seen the arrangements after they have been delivered, and I must say they do spectacular arrangements. They are gorgeous. I recommend this business--Green's Florist--because they are very good. An A goes to them because they truly deserve it. Try them; you won't be disappointed!

I have only used Village Florist one time. I must say that Village Florist peformed great. I ordered an arrangement to be delivered to Jackson County Hospital. I called on the phone, told them what I wanted and how much I would pay. After talking with me on the phone for a bit, we settled on an arrangement that sounded so great. I was worried because I had never used them, but I was in the area and just called them instead of calling my usual florist. Well, I wasn't disappointed. Even though I never got to see the arrangement, the people who did kept going on and on about how great they were. That convinced me this is a wonderful florist. I will use them again if the need arises. I think they are great, and I don't think you will go wrong if you use them as well.

I enjoy Renee's Salon. They are located at 2111 Gault Avenue North so they are in the heart of old Fort Payne. They are convenient, and they have wonderful parking. I love going there because I am treated like a queen. They do hair, all kinds of styles, perms, waxes (all types), tanning, and so on. I like their tanning beds. They are very good, and the prices on all these things are great. I don't feel I being ripped off, and I actually feel great for weeks after going here. Try this place. Renee's Salon will treat you good, and you will go back forever. I do!

Artistic Styling Salon is a great business. They are simply wonderful. I went to them one time because I was visiting a friend and she was going for her appointment. I tagged along, and I watched them. I was so impressed with them, that I made an appointment for myself. I still remember everything they said and did. They were fabulous. I loved the way they go slow. You can watch and study them and that way if someone else cuts your hair, you might can show them some things the other stylist did to make you like it. I haven't been back, but it is only because of inconvenience. Their shop isn't convenient to my house or work. But I do recommend them.

I took my cat into Midtown Animal Hospital for a small emergency, and I found them to be very helpful, compassionate, and reasonable. Their after-hours service is pretty exceptional; they stay open fairly late and have found some way to accommodate last-minute appointments with relative ease. I had a good experience both with the techs and the vets, and my cat did well, too! I was here on an extended vacation, and my cat had to come with me That's why I wasn't familiar with this place to begin with. But I am so glad I chose this place. I recommend Midtown Animal Hospital to anyone who needs a vet (or rather animals, that is, LOL)
