i love this place! the steaks could be better, but the service is amazing! we always love out waitress and the service they give us, we defiantly recommend going to al & almas! make sure to make a reservation, they fill up quick in the summer!

Disagree with previous review. You pay for what you get. Cheap price cheap haircut. City Looks is one of the best experiences I have ever have. The stylist really listened to me and what a shampoo!!!!! that was worth it alone. I have had a few different stylist and each one is great. They listen and ask the best questions to make sure they truly understand. I have never had that experience anywhere else. They really are a cut above!!!!!!

Mound is not filled with many restaurants that are not Chinese, so it is great to have this family-style restaurant. The offer things from meatloaf to spaghetti to walleye and everything in between. The best part is since they moved across the street they have updated the decor and made it completely non-smoking (before the county-wide ban).
And Scotty (well actually both Scottys) is usually around, so say Hi!
The only downfall is that they close early on Sundays, so do not plan to stop by for Sunday dinner.

Al & Alma's restaurant is a perfect choice if you want a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, good food, and wonderful service. The charter cruise boats are great as well --Make sure to get reservations asap-they fill up quick! I would definitely recommend Al & Alma's for any event/occasion.

Thrifty White Drug isn't your typical drug store. It's a fun place to go and browse. They have local gift items and knick knacks, plus a large selection of what every drug store has. Their food items seem to be a larger selection than most other little drug stores, too. Usually when I go there, it's specifically to browse for gift ideas. It's just a charming little store with a feeling that you don't usually get while shopping nowadays.

Getting a haircut used to be a painful experience, until I met Jerry. She cut my hair and I loved it. It took me two months to find Jerry again, because she moved to Cypress after my first haircut. I knew the general area and I called each Hair Salon until I found her. Not only does she have a gift, but she always learns new techniques and creates great styles. You can count on her suggestion, but if are set on a style she will listen. A hair salon is as good as the people working there. Cypress is not remarkable in any way but it??????s comfortable and relaxed. The people are wonderful and they make the experience remarkable.

Unfortunately we just had to use the services of Huber funeral home. My father-in-law died unexpectedly and the only thing planned was where he was going to be buried. My husband and I had the sad task of going in the morning after his death and planning things like his obituary and casket.
We worked with Wally and my husband really felt comforted by him and the funeral home.. they worked with our limited budget and tried to help us trim costs. They also had another staff member who was willing to drive to the middle of North Dakota (a 14 hour round trip drive in one day) so we could bury him.
For this sad task, I would call Huber again.

If you are looking for a decent price on gas, PDQ in Mound is usually a good deal. Because of competition with a local SA, the prices are usually average or lower. And, for your convenience, there is pay at the pump.
And for some food items, PDQ is the way to go. Our favorite buy is milk (with 2 kids we can get a Gallon every 2-3 days). The price is 10-20 cents cheaper then the local Jubilee.

My husband and I just got married 5 years ago and he introduced me to the House of Moy food. He had done some service work for the restaurant several years ago and couldn't wait to return and show me what treasure he had found. It is the most reasonably priced, home cooked asian food you will get within Hennepin County. They have recently added a soup and salad bar and (of course) have an all you can eat Buffet on Monday nights. It's great!!! Highly recommended.
Pros: Reasonable Prices, Home cooked food
Cons: Ambiance is showing some wear
