Sushi Generation is a very large place that always has a lot of open seating. It's very pleasant to pass by - but the one time I dined there, the food was terrible. I can only assume that that one time was an abberation or else this large restaurant could never stay in business. On a warm summer evening, it seems like a nice place to have an outdoor meal. I think I'll have to check it out again and give it another chance.

We got a gift certificate from Judy's Book City Editor program back a few months ago to Gonzo and hadn't had a chance to use it until now. We made reservations (recommended) and sat outside on a cool but pleasant night. The food was salty, oily, but overall tasty - but unnecessarily expensive. The portions were fairly sized, but overall for some bread with a little cheese sprinkled on and a couple of mushrooms, the prices were a lot more than needed to be. The thin crust pizza - for which they are famous - was very good. It's a cute and nice place - maybe we'll give them another chance. Thanks, Judy's Book!

This is without a doubt my favorite museum in the city, perhaps the country. It is such a rich combination of history, biology, anthropology, and sociology that details the description of living things from molecular biological perspective to socioeconomics and is accurate and clear in its descriptions. The museum is very children-friendly and is a great place for kids and adults of all ages to get an education.

Dining at Jojo was an incredibly lovely dining experience. The restaurant is casual sophisticated and the atmosphere is homey. The food is contemporary French and is totally delicious. This is one of Jean-George's restaurants and it was a totally delightful experience being there. The waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful and made sure that everything we had was great. Especially those chick pea fries - wow, that was awesome!

Riviera Sushi and Grill is sort of like a tradition Russian restaurant like the kind that you'd usually find on Brighton Beach - there's only one different: this one is also Japanese. What exactly does that mean? I'm not sure, except to say that there's a sushi bar and the sushi is pretty good (the fish is, the sushi is a little messier than you'd find at, say, Nobu). But the food is served in tradition Russian style with lots and lots of courses and the platters are displayed on pedestals in the center and everyone around the table is served more and more and more. The food was good - not amazing - but the experience was very enjoyable. Russian VH1 music videos were blasting on the speakers and TVs all around including in the bathroom (a TV to view by the toilet). Very interesting place.

If you don't want to trek out the suburbs or leave the state - Gothic furniture is a supplier of raw furniture designs at pretty reasonable prices. You can paint your own end table and then get compliments on it later. They have a good selection of different furniture styles and they're located all around the city - so you'll not need to travel far. Good luck!

We were hungry and making our way up first Avenue yesterday after a pleasant and relaxing weekend and wanted a bite to eat. The bright and sterile looking facade of Green Kitchen immediately drew our attention and brought us in after a quick glance at the menu to check that there'd be something to eat. We were surprised by how clean and tidy everything was and the service was fantastic. It was around 8 pm on a Sunday night - and the restaurant was very empty - so we received lots of water and people checking up on us. The waitstaff was nice and helpful and the food was very good. The prices were reasonable. We especially enjoyed the goat cheese and arugula salad. Yum!

When we first arrived at this restaurant, I was a little wary since the location is right on the main street of a busy thoroughfare loaded with gas stations and car mechanics. The valet parking was a surprised and then we came in to a bustling business of many happy dinners. The atmosphere was a little louder than expected, but the food was amazing. Every dish was presented with the most creative and appealing arragenements and the food itself was amazing. I especially enjoyed the pan seared salmon ("the best salmon I've ever tasted") and the plantain-crusted talapia. It's a great place - you won't be disappointed.

We had a large group from out of town who wanted to see NY. We thought a dinner cruise would be a nice idea - and it turned out to be amazing. Group rates start at 20 and we had 19. The whole night was totally enjoyable, from the buffet that was highly organized to avoid lines to the amazing views to the entertainment (which was a little cheesy, but still fun). It's tables of 10 people and a really great way to spend the evening touring NY by water. Just an FYI: We were on the Spirit of NJ (which sails from the same Chelsea location), which I understand is a little less money than the Spirit of NY for the same trip.

Patsy's is delicious! I love their fresh crispy thin crusted pizza so much. The problem is that this location is directly across the street from California Pizza Kitchen, so after a Bloomingdales outing (next door), and you get hungry, you can often be confronting with the perplexing dilemma: which pizza should I eat? I can guarantee that either choice will not disappoint. Patsy's is much more family style, old new york traditional pizza without the sundried tomatoes and shitake mushrooms. It's good stuff!
