Alex and I recently tried out Pasta Freska on our 7 year anniversary. We've driven by this Westlake restaurant a number of times, and after reading some raves from other JBers decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, everyone was right!
We were warmly greeted at the front my owner, Mike, who promptly showed us to our seat. Mike asked us if there were things we would not eat, were allergic to or really loved and then headed off to get our meal created. There's no menu, and no one gives you any kind of indication about what's in store--which surprisingly for even this control freak was rather charming.
Plate after plate of absolutely delicious food came out. From this amazing eggplant appetizer (and I HATE eggplant) to this to die for what I think is a ricotta stuffed chicken in red wine sauce with pine nuts, to a white sauce pasta that was topped with a huge prawn, artichoke heart and what may have been sole everything made my mouth hum with delight.
We don't know what the wine was, but even that was excellent as well. The beauty of Pasta Freska are the excellent service (we were constantly being check on in an unobtrusive manner), the great food which you don't have to pick, and the excellent deal--our meal for two roughly came out to be a little over 20 bucks a person. (excluding tax and drinks)
If you're looking for an easygoing place to get an excellent meal that will wow your date, try Pasta Freska.
But if you want to be able to do anything afterward, leave a little bit on each plate :)

And, if you need to grab a quick bite, check out their salad bar. With different types of lettuce and a huge variety of fixings, all you really need to be careful of is using too much dressing and ruining the whole affect.

24 hour fitness is just as they say, open 24 hours. That means no matter what time you want to work out, you can--and this is one less excuse to keep you from fulfilling your New Year's Get Fit Resolution. (I'm not sure if that is a good thing, or not) The gyms tend to be pretty well equipped--from machines to weights, and other things in between.
The major drawback to working out at 24 hour is the cost. There's a large processing fee that is dumped on top of the membership cost. However, they generally tend to run membership specials a few times during the year in which they either waive the fee, or you can have another person join with you for free. Also a huge cost saving method that takes a lot of money up front is to pay for the year's membership in full when you sign up.

Beyond that, they also have a pretty decent selection of clothes and shoes. Truly, if you needed to be the spot for one stop shopping, you could get your equipment list completed at Big 5.
One drawback is that while they do have sales, I don't tend to find the great deals that I do in other places. But it doesn't mean that they don't necessarily exist...

Do your feet roll in or roll out as you run, do you want more cushioning in the front, or the back of your shoe. When it gets too daunting, Fleet Feet is there to help. The well-trained, and very friendly staff will take the time to get to know your needs, recommend the right product for you, and will even watch you run to make sure that the shoe you buy is the best possible fit.
However, keep in mind that their expertise comes at a price, and if you're looking for a cheap shoe steal, Fleet Feet is not the place to go. But if you're looking to invest in yourself and save your body from potential pain, go for it.

From past experience, I know that a lot of you will be making exercise resolutions. However, one of the things that can be difficult in starting an exercise routine is finding the right clothes to wear that won't rip a hole in your wallet. Old Navy, surprisingly has a pretty decent selection of work out clothes for pretty cheap. From zip up fleece jackets, to tees and tights, you'll be able to dress yourself so that you can work out comfortably. One of my favorites are their yoga line of clothes, that also work for not yoga activities.

The only problem is that you can never be guaranteed that you'll find something along your tastes. But if you are lucky, you'll be guaranteed a great deal.

And actually, you can grab some really deals on diamond studs, rings, necklaces and more at Costco. Of course, you'll need a membership to get your way into the door, and selection is limited to one small stand. But there are some great deals to be had.

From the rings to the necklaces and more, you can grab your piece on the go. Prices are pretty reasonable, and again, everything is silver. Hey you never know. They're located close to the Godiva chocolate and T-Mobile stand.
