Cougar Mountain Zoo is located in Issaquah. This is a very small zoo that seems to specialize in animals that you wouldn't normally see at a zoo. They have reindeer, which is really neat. I had never seen a reindeer in real life! They have a Christmas festival where kids can meet Santa and the reindeer, but we haven't done that (the parking lot seems small and I have parking anxiety). What I remember most is the beautiful parrots that they have at the zoo. The birds are out in the open and it's fun to be able to see them up close. Admission, the birthday parties and the gift shop all seem expensive so we don't go there very often. But we really enjoy it when we do.

This place can be busy and loud but my family enjoys it. They have a big climbing structure for the smaller kids (I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old that both enjoy it). I find that my 2 year old can easily climb up into it whereas at other similar places (Illusionz, McDonalds) she might have some trouble. There are lots of games to interest even the small kids and I personally like the bulldozer-type games with the tokens. You can earn tickets to trade in for prizes. There seems to be plenty of parking and the prices are reasonable.

My cat had been ill for several days and I took her to the Critter Doctor as a new patient. Sadly - and I hate to be depressing - but it turns out my cat had an abominal tumor and needed to be put down. This all happened in one day - today. :( The doctor was very caring and took lots of time to explain what was going on. The technician even made a memento of Kitty's pawprints for me to keep. Everybody was very kind and professional and made this difficult day better.

I was lured into this place by their advertisement of I don't remember how many flavors of soft-serve ice cream. What I was surprised by is how good the food is. I am thinking particulary of the baby-back ribs. Quite tender and tasty. I also like the fish and chips and they give you tons of extra tartar sauce if you ask for it (like me). My kids love the dated video games and the machines that dispense candy. Service can be a little slow but it's not too bad. Usually, there is street parking available right out front. By the way, my kids love the chicken tenders that they serve.

I have been a long-time customer of Acura of Bellevue (about 12 years). They have always been quick to react to my needs and are very attentive. I like the fact that many of their service department employees have been around for a long time. For me, they know I will voice my opinion about things I don't like so they are nice to me. :) Or at least I like to think so. Maybe they are nice to everyone. They have a nice, clean waiting area and last time I checked they have free lattes, espresso and apples! Quality service overall.

We bought a Subaru Outback at Chaplin's in December 2005. They were very low-key and no pressure. They let you take the car out as long as you want (okay, within reason) for a test drive. And you get to take it out by yourself. I drove it home to try it out on my driveway and make sure the car didn't bottom out going over my curb (it didn't). We took a couple of days to make the offer. My husband accidentally wrote down a price $200 above what he meant to write down and gave it to the salesperson. When the salesperson came back and said the offer was accepted, my husband said, oops, I meant to say $200 less. The salesperson didn't even get mad, bless his heart. They accepted the new offer.
There hasn't been quite as much follow-up as I would have liked in checking to see if we like our new car but I guess I am spoiled that way.
All in all, a very good experience (although their parking lot is VERY cramped!!!).

We were THIS CLOSE to buying a Saab with Carter. Our salesperson was B.C. I specifically told him what model I was looking for. When he came back with the deal, it seemed like a great price. I said, "Okay, I just want to clarify that this is for the ____ model." He said, "No, you told me you wanted the ____ model." He said I told him the wrong thing. I bailed out of the deal right then. Later on, I was looking at the business card he gave me. He had written on the back the model I asked for, not the one he quoted me - but obviously had the nerve to say I told him the wrong model. Even though the right one was written by him on the back of his business card. Kind of slimey.

As a family, we try to get to Costco once every couple of months. We stock up on toilet paper, paper towels, soda, bread to freeze, croissants to freeze and cereal. They also have very good prepared meals such as meat loaf with mashed potatoes. The sandwich trays that they make (like the turkey and swiss on a croissant) taste extremely fresh. If you go to the Issaquah location, make sure to get there early because parking gets tight. If you have a loaded cart, sometimes the people who load up your cart at checkout don't pack it as efficiently as possible and things can fall out of the cart in the parking lot, so keep an eye on that!

I think this is a great program for very young babies to kids up to 4 years old. The Gymboree Play location is in Redmond Town Center. They have colorful mats and toys and safe, wooden jungle-gym type equipment. There is lots of singing (just hope you get a teacher with a good voice) and interaction with the children. It gives kids a chance to get familiar with music and movement and all of this is done in a safe environment. The classes are not super-cheap but the cost is comparable to other similar programs in the area. They also host birthday parties which are a lot of fun.

I really like Piroshky which is located in the food court at Crossroads Mall. My husband and I always get the chahohbili and a couple of piroshkies to share (favorites are the Bavarian sausage piroshky and the beef and onion piroshky). What cracks me up is the lack of friendliness in the staff. (Although I actually got a half-smile out of someone yesterday.) What I enjoy about the chahohbili is the smoky barbeque-ness of the chicken and the rotini pasta.
