I didn't have the nerve to write this review until I read Annamarie's response about how poorly she was treated by the Shriners organization.
A long time ago, my uncle Herbie was stationed overseas while he was in the Army.
My mom's mother got very sick and had double pneumonia. She eventually died in the hospital. My mom told me in those days, the family notified the American Red Cross to get the word to my uncle. That's the way it was done. Then he could have a leave from the Army to attend the funeral, if he wished.
That's all well and good, however, the Red Cross neglected to tell my uncle that his precious mother, Anna, was dead. As is the custom of the Jewish people, they must get the body in the ground within 24-48 hours. She was therefore buried without her only son in attendance and everyone talked about that for a very long time afterward. Eventually, the family themselves notified my uncle of his mother's death. My mom hated the Red Cross ever since then. So have I.

I have been getting this mail order catalog for years now. They sell crafts stuff, along with a lot of hobbyists things and stickers and christmas decos. I used to pen pal and the stickers were always cheaper here. I used to send my pals some stickers as neat "tuck-ins" in their envelopes. Their selection of stickers are very unique and as I said before, reasonably priced and very prism-y and colorful. I'm just a sticker fanatic anyway. So I'm easy to please.
Oriental Trading has a unique selection of scrapbooking supplies including die cuts. I used to make my own magnets, so I know they sell the magnetic tape. So convenient. I'd seal the magnet with heavy duty transparent mailing tape and stick on a magnet and voila! Homemade magnet!
Their selection is usually seasonal. Halloween sales are fun with masks of every sort is available and even costumes are there. They have a convenient website located at http://www.orientaltrading.com

This taxicab service is run by a Reverend who preaches in a church in a nearby town. Rev. Sandidge is meticulous in his approach to his business.. keeping great records and providing good customer service to his customers. You know that when you call Sandidge Taxi for a ride, you are not going to have to keep reminding him of your appointment. Once it's down in his appointment book, it's solidified. He is dedicated to getting the passenger to where they need to be and doing it on time or early. That is his credo and he adheres to it flawlessly.
However, if you must know this.. Sandidge Taxi is the only cab in town. It is miles away from the nearest competitor. That is why the prices are extreme.
The only drawback to Sandidge's service is the price. At least for me. I live on a fixed income and paying $30 to get to WalMart, which is about 17 miles away, is unfair. I know how high gasoline prices are, but you can't take that out on your customers. I know, I know, it's only business. But business people should be fair. Or in this case, "fare"!!

My good friends' husband passed away on Friday afternoon. That is why I haven't been online since Thursday evening.
She is using Whitten to help bury her husband. They are conveniently located near her home in the same community. Meantime, one of the Whitten brothers' is helping her sort out all of the confusing and befuddling issues that a widow has to sort out.. insurance policies, the Veterans Administration (he was in the Navy), Social Security and more. The funeral "package" did not come cheap. It is costing my friend over eight thousand dollars to bury her husband! When I heard that, I nearly lost it! But, they are being exceptionally kind and helpful to her. Hey, that's what insurance is for, right? It sure does "pay" to be heavily insured. This will take the monetary burden off of your loved ones. Your dying will be hard to deal with enough.
Get insured and do it today. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. The peace of mind you will have will be worth any expense.

I agree that Michael's has a lot of stuff for hobbyists. I've gotten pen palling supplies there, like stickers and stamping stuff. I've also gotten art supplies there and extra yarn for latch hook projects. They have a lot of different crafts stuff there and such a huge assortment of things. The only beef I have with this department store of crafts items? The prices are pretty outrageous!
Unless you catch a specific sale on something you want, be ready to take out a second mortgage or to sell your first born to afford what you want!

How cool is this place? Now, I had no idea, Junior, that they had burritos. I've only had their chicken and their dirty rice. Oh my God! Delicious stuff. I wish they had Bojangles here in central Virginia. I miss it from when I lived in New York and New Jersey. Tell me more about that burrito!! Yummo.

I love this place. The building is a showplace.. but as everyone knows, it's not the building that counts, especially in a pharmacy. The workers there and the pharmacists count. The employees here are not too swift, but boy, the pharmacist, Art Robertson sure does make up for those workers. He goes over and above what he needs to do every single time. And he's always there, it seems. He cares about people and it shows. What a pharmacy. I know I'm being cared for and I'm in great trusted hands when I get my scripts filled. Then once every week, CVS has a pretty decent sale to go along with it. i use my coupons there and my Extra Care card to save even more.

Who works here? Imus.. yes THE Don Imus! He is still wonderful and sexy sounding. I love his sarcastic, dry wit. Even with one lung, Imus or the I-man as he is known in some circles, can still kick ass with the best of them. He was the original sarcastic "Howard Stern" before Stern ever decided to take over radio. Every bit Stern has nowadays can be traced back to Imus. Imus always had a little softer edge than Stern. He's more likeable and funnier, in my opinion. A great operator like Imus has to have his great sidekicks like Charles McCord, the newsreader and Larry Kenney doing voices. And then there's Imus' infamous brother, Fred Imus. Fred is getting his own sattelite show on Sirius!
