There selection is impressive; it's easy to spend hours here, especially if you want to make a costume... The prices on their sale items are so low that you may wonder how they acquire their inventory. I've bought several fabrics for a couple bucks a yard and a few patterns @ $.99 each! It's a place for those who live and breathe sewing.

Apparently a lot of people in this town love to sew! If it's your passion, you'll find others here who share your hobby. The prices of some of the discounted fabrics are so low that you may wonder where it came from in the first place. It's highly unlikely that you'll find patterns for less money than the abundant deals here, especially when they're on sale for $.99 each! The selection of fabrics is quite amazing, it's easy to spend hours here, especially if you're making a Halloween costume.

I've seen places like this come and go in Yakima. It's of a quality possible to find in large cities, I hope that the locals appreciate what they have! Here you will find the rustic breads not found in grocery stores and the pastries that don't have hundreds of incomprehensible ingredients in them. They also make the soup and sandwiches we wish mom had made.
It's not always perfect -- sometimes they experiment -- but for the price it's amazing! It's not "posh" but it's a decent place to bring a frien

The State of Washington allows those with certain medical conditions to obtain a doctor's prescription of "Medical Marijuana". Fortunately I don't have any of these conditions, but I know some who do and a good friend of mine recently obtained a very nice "water pipe" from them. This place is one of the few decent places in Bellevue to obtain a good "water pipe"; "Middle Eastern" places sometimes sell good hookahs if you need one. Apparently they blow some of their own glass pipes now.

Until recently, I would have given them four stars because their tasty food was quite a bargain, but like a few restaurants suffering the "trickle down" effect of higher gas prices, they have recently raised their prices to (over)compensate. But they still have a friendly staff and an interior nicer than one might expect after seeing its exterior. I appreciate their vegetarian options and that they understand what people mean when they say "no MSG".

Their sale seemed too good to pass up. Their selection had some adequate options, even if there weren't as many choices as those offered by other stores. The sales person seemed to have an appreciation for art and an understanding of what I wanted, I wish that the rest of them were like her! The preparation of the frame took over a week longer than I had been told to expect. A few minutes after I got home it was apparent that they had neglected to add the "fillet" (decorative interior frame addition) and so I had to take it back. The person who cut the frames did not understand how to center the pattern, which I noticed after unwrapping it the second time I took it home. When I explained to them the very simple process of centering the pattern by measuring an equal distance from the center of any of its ridges, it was apparently too much for them. "We don't do that." At least it was relatively easy to get my money back. But if you're not 'detail oriented' and just want a cheap frame, you will probably find it a good deal.

Years ago I was a regular for their lunch buffet; I felt like visiting an old stand-by. Apparently the previous owners left and took a few things with it -- actually, they took quite a bit, including the carpet! The place looks like it was ransacked, like someone attempted to decorate it by shopping at Goodwill. The degradation continued, with the buffet, a pathetic shadow of what it once was.

I only thought that I could see quite well, but others disagreed. Lenscrafter's knowledgeable optometrist opened my eyes to their real condition. They were right.
Even though my parents were medical professionals, I had never had my eyes tested, and I thought that I had 20/15 vision! But apparently I suffer from congenital cataracts, which explains my poor night vision. I was under the misconception that I just didn't have as many cones in my eyes as others. I did not know that a surgical procedure will drastically improve my night vision!
The eye-opener came when I looked through the lenses which compensate for my astigmatism, and as their advertisements say, they craft lenses in under an hour. So soon after my exam, things appeared 3-D again! And my way of looking at the world too.
The salesman did a great job of helping me find something that looked great with my face, and an even better job at remaining calm with all of my nit-picking concerns. He told me (and I will tell YOU) to check their website for current deals, and I saved $75 because of this. I recommend this specific location for him, for their selection, and for the general look of the store.
As a note: in the future "glare reduction" will be a standard feature for lenses. So will something like the "Scotch Guard" feature that facilitates cleaning lenses. The technician explained the benefits but I was mistaken in believing that he was merely trying to up-sell me. I could not stand the glare and the smudges before I made the switch, which cost an extra $125, but count on factoring this into your cost.
They're quite good about making sure that you're satisfied if you're good about making up your mind within 30 days!

When I grew up in Yakima I saw the cafe, with that famous revolving sign depicting a hunter with a rifle shooting things in all directions, in quite a different light. When I took my cousin there recently, I expected him to overhear conversations from the locals about what they shot last weekend. But the new ownership has transformed the place into something that I doubted could exist in Yakima:
From their website:
"Showcasing talent from the Northwest and beyond, Yakima Sports Center is the Central Washington hub for fresh
cuisine, local art, live music, craft beers, valley wines, and sports enthusiasts. While preserving an historic 1910 landmark in the heart of downtown Yakima, the Sports Center celebrates all four seasons of flavors from our agriculturally rich valley with sizzle."

The food is quite good and the music surprisingly great...
It's hip, it's thriving, and it's fantastic!

Tofu instead of paneer? They cut a few corners, perhaps a few too many, but managed to have a very affordable lunch buffet. The decor bespeaks a richer, more elaborate dining experience that those who come for dinner may actually experience. But because I felt so underwhelmed by their lunch fare, I don't feel inclined to return.
