Yak-Zies is a cool place to visit before after or during Cubs games. They are huge supporters of Cub fan muck running! And If you don't have tickets to the game, you can find a comfy seat (maybe) and some greasy grub to absorb all the beer. The T.V. tents across the street make it fun for Neighbors to watch the game outdoors. And if they're drunk enough, they may even think they're actually at Wrigley. Seriously, it's that cool.

I'd try this place if:
1.They were open when I'm hungry.
2. There wasn't one of those thick brown doormats
prohibiting the front door from opening all the way.
3. It appeared that they ever vacuumed
4. The help didn't wear vintage uniforms that hadn't been washed since the 50's
5. If anyone walking out had a smile on their face.
I'm scared to try Tom's. It looks a little creepy from my experiences walking by and gaping through the windows. Some people swear by their food, but I'm not sure if those people may've been brain washed.

I'm getting more addicted to Starbucks now that I've moved to the burbs (temporarily), and I'm pretty embarrassed about it. It seems as though these guys have either finally figured out how to brew a great cup of joe, or my taste buds are just so dead that they no longer know the difference. I'm satisfied with the coffee and the service that I get here. And they're open pretty late for suburbia. So, I'm happy for now!

Salt, Grease and Gristle. The meat is not meat and the veggies have no personality. Little Tokyo can fill those carb cravings you get with fried their rice, but their entrées are really boring and salty. Pretty much everything tastes the same. I was hoping for so much more because the lace looks semi-authentic. If you didn't have to bite through so much gristle to get through to the beef, it might taste good.

I guess I'm just into reviewing places that annoy me right now. This place has probably the worst service in the Homewood area. One time I waited over a half hour for my order. And after inquiring about it twice, and being told that it was on it's way, I decided to be patient. Then, after 30 minuted passed, they gave me a small fry and an orange pop. I didn't order a small fry and an orange pop. In fact, my order was much larger, which is why I figured it was taking so long. Anyway, they then had to replace my order, and wound up over charging me. They did however, try to make up for it with 2 free sundaes that melted before we could eat them. UGHHHHHHHHH

I hate this place. Their bagels are not American, they're fake and dry and overly processed. I would go here if the service was good or if THE PLACE HAD ANY STYLE WHATSOEVER. Neither one of these is true, and so, I do not frequent the Gross American Bagel. I suppose if you are starving, you certainly won't die from eating one of their offerings. But I like to treat my tummy much better.

I wanted to get my hair cut here because, my regular hair salon is on the 2nd floor of a building with no elevators, and I was walking with a baby stroller. I'm always walking with a baby stroller. And a baby. So anyway, I stroll into Aveda, smile, and ask if I can make an appointment for later on that week. wait.. I did smile at a stylist, make eye contact.. but then I waited like 5 minutes before she approached me and allowed me to talk. Wasn't like she was busy either, just wanted me to wait.
Anyway, she didn't have any openings and wouldn't look passed the current week's schedule. I felt as if she just didn't want to do my hair. I don't know, maybe it was the baby stroller, or the sweat dripping from my brow that turned her off. I won't be going back, and it's a shame because they do have great prices.

I go to the alley to buy stuff for my 23 year old younger brother because i want him to think I'm cool. I also like to support local business and dig the fact that these people don't understand the meaning of the word pretentious. Although, it's staffed by tattooed mohawked chain wearers, it's got such a warm spirit. On the other hand, the stuff is a little pricey, but an okay spot to shop once or twice a year - when I buy stuff for the little bro.

Pizza is pizza folks, and my taste buds just aren't mature enough to tell the difference between every single on of the choices. Bacino's is good, and if a friend is paying, I'm there. I mean, it's not my first choice or anything, but I certainly enjoy a slice of their Chicagoish cheesy pie. Nothing too special about Bacino's, but nothing bad either. Pretty run of the mill.
