So we've run through the popular stops in midtown east and here's the last on the list before moving onto the next Manhattan neighborhood.
The first thing you'll notice is the huge front windows letting you see exactly how over crowded this place is - always. This is the Joshua Tree of midtown east in the way that it's a place for pickup artists. The only difference being that the guys will generally have more luck here than further downtown; earning is a nickname of "Slutton Place." This is something I didn't believe to be true until hearing it from several sources that are not connected to one another. Unfortunately, it's well known for it. I hesitated to include that but it's reputation precedes it.
That aside there are some plusses to being here; especially for the sports nut. There's 15 TVs and 4 Big screens - and surround sound.
There's another lounge that sports a fireplace. And even better, just like Mica there's a roof top bar. The crowd is friendly and it's always a good time. The music is always good and not deafening. I wouldn't make Sutton Place the bar where I spent my entire evening but worth a stop before heading out of the neighborhood.

Do not bring your business here. I purchased a used vehicle from them (It was an Acura which may have been part of the problem). When I received the vehicle, the rear lights and dash lights did not work which was part of a major electrical problem. A dome light can be overlooked but EVERYTHING in the dash and an ENTIRE rear set of lights? Someone signed off without doing full quality control checking on the vehicle.
When notified, I was initially told that I would have to pay for the repair even though I picked up the vehicle that way since it was not on an IOU. I'm not sure how I would have been able to screw up so much in less than eight hours.
I had traded in my old car with them so when the Acura was to be left off, I was without a car. This process took nearly a month with several trips back and forth to them for troubleshooting and installing the wrong parts (all of which I was initially billed for). Additionally, they had gone back and forth to Acura in Colmbia for assistance.
They finally provided me with 2 rental cars over the course of the time, each with not enough gas to get the gas station (thank God for downhill and neutral).
When Acura in Columbia found the right part, Dodge refused to pay the extra cost for overnight shipping even though this had gone on so long I had made my first payment on the car.
My salesman would not return my calls and the maintenance manager wouldn't come to the phone when I called for status.
When I spoke to the General Manager about the problem, he told me I was lucky that they finally agreed to even pay for this and shouldn't be complaining.
I will never again go to them for anything, new or used and make it a point to warn everyone of the poor customer service I received.
To boot, they had the nerve to send me a customer satisfaction survey in the mail which they received back - in pieces after a paper shredder went to work on it.
The absolute WORST buying experience of my life.

I'm a poster boy for the golden arches (when I can turn off the health nut inside and splurge). McDonald's is probably the least healthy of the burger joints but it's my favorite. Especially the french fries. There's no better fry than those from McD's. Unfortunately, they just put one maybe 100 yards down the street from me and temptation is greater than it's been, especially when it's 9pm and I'm in no mood to cook a huge meal for one.
I'm a burger guy all the way. I've never even tried their chicken sandwiches and who knows what else they offer these days. A classic quarter pounder of a double cheeseburger and large french fries is the way I go each time.
Here's a question for you all... anyone notice that Coke from McDonald's has a unique flavor? It tastes different from coke in a bottle or can, but identical to every other McDonald's.

...is called Divine Bar and it's one of 2 in the city. This one is right on 51st street on the east side. The other one is on 54th street. There was one down down on Nassau Stree pre 9/11 that remained open shortly after.
This place will be more cowded than Mica bar but it also has other things to offer like an extensive wine list of 65 "by the glass" varieties and 50 international beers.
I haven't spent as much time here as others so can't go as in depth as I have before..

My mother had tried to sell me on the use of this stuff for years but I wasn't buying into it for a long time. Eventually, I gave it a shot and either it works or it's all some psychosomatic placebo deal. Whatever the case may be, I end up feeling better.
The thing is that it won't work as well when you're already sick. Start taking it once or twice a day when you feel the very beginnings of a cold and it'll help to stave off the full onslaught of symptoms.
Maybe it's a sham but as long as I feel better I'm a happy guy. (I'm a big baby when I'm sick).

Ok this is what I'm stuck with now and I can't wait until I can get my hands on something else. It's a version of Crest that's got... ready for this? LEMON EXTRACT. Don't ask me how I overlooked this when I picked it up but I sure couldn't miss it the moment it hit my taste buds.
Lemon is good... minty fresh toothpaste is good. but mixing the 2 is definitely not good. There's nothing else redeeming about it as far as what it does. It's not particularly whitening, nor tartar protection or baking soda or any other added protection.
It's just regular toothpaste with lemon in it. STAY AWAY!

It's like a Judy's Book for websites and news articles. The entire thing is based on user submitted content. The difference is that all content that's submitted is read and voted on by users which will move it up and down the list by popularity.
This is a great place to see a compiled list of all current things going on in the web. Instead of heading to yahoo.com and msn.com and whoknowswhereelse.com just go to digg and you'll see this dynamic list of the current and popular stuff.
It's really is a great site for keeping up with things.

It's not all bad

I avoided myspace for a long long time. I figured that if I haven't been in touch with people for a decade or more then there's probably a good reason why and if I talk to someone on a regular basis I don't need myspace anyway and so I stayed away.
Then I started to realize some business potential in it and I can't make money off of a product I don't use so I made a myspace and fancied it up, browsed around and learned the ins and outs of it all.
It's got pros and cons, like anything else in life. Seems like most people focus on the cons so I'll go with that first:
1) The administration is not prepared to handle the loads the servers come under over time and the site crashes quite frequently
2) There is no separation by age so an adult who feels like exhibiting some of his or her finer "assets" can be viewed by a child. (Now this is where parents need to take precautions).
3) There are reports of Myspace selling information to 3rd parties (Magazine subscriptions would NEVER do that right?)
How about some benefits?
1) Reconnecting with old friends and making new friends (some of you decided to stay away from new people on myspace, but you make new friends on JB right?)
2) Introduction to new bands, music, movies, comedians and other forms of entertainment.
3) Their want ads from which I have personally found paying web development jobs and cover many many categories for services and products
4) Have you seen some of the pages for a lot of teens out there? Have any idea the amount of HTML (web code) that goes into it? Having the fanciest myspace page in the 7th grade is like winning homecoming king or queen these days and these kids will sit down and learn all the newest ways to implement web development code like HTML and Flash. Sit your kid down in front of a web design book and see how far they make it.
So, if everyone takes a little extra time to safeguard themselves from information theft and make sure the PC is not an open book for their kids to see whatever they wish, your problems will be solved and myspace can be used in a safe and fun way.
Nobody leaves and open bottle of bleach near a toddler or mails cash in an envelope or throws a piece of paper with credit card number, home address, and social security number on it on a counter in a store.
Treat your computer the same when in regards to children, personal information and people coming IN (hackers, viruses) and you will never have an issue.
It's not the sites or the management that's the issue, it's the users; both the improper abusers of it and those that don't go out of their way to protect themselves from the former.
Edit: I forgot and important part. When you kid creates a myspace profile, be sure you're there for it and check the appropriate age box. Under 16 or 17 years old, the profile is private and cannot be seen by the public, only friends. Put in YOUR email address as the notification address so you'll know when your child gets a friend request and that'll further your ability to control who's seeing your child's page.
