Sound Garden looks like a run down store on the corner in Fells Point, but it has so much to offer. Not only can you find used CDs at great prices, but they have a great deal of hard to find CDs that other used stores might not even have. I've also had a good experience with the employees. There have been times when I was having a hard time finding what I was looking for and they have been more than happy to help me find it.

Port Discovery - The Children's Museum is not just for children. It is a great place for children, adults and even teens. When it first opened I went on a date with my high school girlfriend and had an amazing time. It was fun reliving a peice of childhood. Adults can get something out of Port Discovery - The Children's Museum as well. While it is not cheap, I don't believe its any more expensive than any other museum in Baltimore. I highly reccomend a visit for children and adults alike!

More
The Baltimore Museum of Art, called the BMA by locals, is one of my favorite art museums in the world. It's not a huge museum, but what it lacks in size it makes up in collections. The BMA consists of several permanent galleries, including the famous Matisse-packed Cone Collection, an impressive furniture and decorative arts wing, and jewelry and miniature collection, in addition to one large traveling exhibits gallery. The changing exhibits are almost always blockbuster, with recent shows being the Ballet Russe, Impressionists, and Turner's Watercolors and Guash. There's also a huge section of modern and abstract art; while it's not my favorite, it's quite impressive in scale and scope. There's also an outdoor sculpture garden, indoor courtyard, theater, exceptional café, and a fantastic gift shop. Hopkins students used to be able to get in free if they showed their student ID. Programming is plentiful here, so be alert for fantastic evening performances, family art workshops, and gallery talks.

We've been to many movies at the Senator over the years and have always enjoyed the experience. The short film instead of endless commercials and previews is lots of fun and often informative, too. The theater owner often will speak from the stage to the audience. I also love the displays of memorabilia from John Waters movies that premiered there. It is a Baltimore landmark not to be missed. Good popcorn, too!

This museum has some of the coolest modern art I have ever seen. Everything from a live and working Coney Island replica to face masks painted by mentally disabled people. They change the artwork a lot during the year so be sure to check it out often. The tree outside th eback is filled with pieces of glass which is also real cool. Since it's right next to the inner harbor there are plenty of other places to visit while you are there.

More
This is, by far, the nicest ballpark I have ever been to. It's relatively new, very clean, and really beautiful. It features an area of Eutaw St. that is closed off to traffic and has shops and restaurants. It's a large stadium and since the O's don't have a huge following getting a ticket is never an issue. They have lots of promotions that allow you to attend for cheap, including 5 dollar student tickets on Friday nights and 4 for 44 dollar promotions where you get 4 tickets, 4 hats and 4 programs for 44 dollars. Though the O's aren't the best team (go Red Sox!) it's a great place to spend an evening or a weekend afternoon!

More
This place was really coll. $11 per person and worth every penny. There is a huge tree fort 3 stories high that the children and even adults can climb inside. That alone occupies a good hour. For the toddlers there is an exploration room with no big kids so they can jump into the ball pit or play on the mini tree fort. There are several different rooms for the children such as the arts and crafts room and the music are where they can learn about music.
Make sure you have a whole day set aside for this place because your kids will never want to leave.
PROS: activities will last all day, worth the money
CONS: parking was difficult and added to the expenses

I really dont care for trains, but when I was invited to go to the B&O Railroad Museum I said why not. To my surprise I really had a great time. I was really happy on how much there was for my 2 year old to do there. They have a train ride, a train play ground, and a REAL train ride that goes a mile or so down the track. She cried when it was time to leave. I will be back there for sure!!!
