Grand Country Inn in Branson, Missouri http://www.grandcountry.com/hotel.asp , is not just a motel it’s fun for the entire family! Though this is by no means a “high class” establishment, the rooms are clean, the employees are friendly and the location is easily found on the main thoroughfare deep in the heart of Branson, Missouri.
This is one of the older motels in the area and it is plain to see that updates have not occurred in some time, however despite the tiny (read minuscule) front office and the somewhat cramped rooms, this is clearly a family friendly motel and one that everyone will enjoy, especially when you consider that admission to the Grand Country Inn Waterpark http://www.grandcountry.com/splash.asp
is included in the somewhat high room rate.
The waterpark is fun, I must admit, with its rustic look, lazy river and multiple waterslides, all offering fun for all ages. And if you like to get wet then standing under the huge wooden bucket holding 1,000 gallons of water is the place to be. For every 8 minutes the bucket is upended and all in the area are drenched with good old fashioned wet fun! The waterpark is easily accessible from the motel and is housed in a nice large building with plenty of room.....definitely a plus in our book!
There are also shows available nearby http://www.grandcountry.com/shows.asp
in the Grand Country Music Hall, with Grand County Buffet http://www.grandcountry.com/restaurants.asp
and plenty of shopping for all ages at Grand Country Square http://www.grandcountry.com/shopping.asp all within a short walk of the motel. Check out the website http://www.grandcountry.com/main.asp to see what Grand County can offer your family for your next vacation!

Picture it if you will....thick,rich crust, baked to a golden brown...topped with rich tomato sauce, freshly chopped lettuce, onions, black olives, taco meat and more cheese than you ever dreamed possible! Combine that with fast pick up and great customer service and you have the best pizza bar none!
I must be honest here, I am a small town girl. I've enjoyed this pizza many times with family in the area, and believe me when I say this pizza is a huge hit from my youngest son to his grandfather. There isn't anyone who has had this pizza that comes away from the table disappointed!
Located on the south edge of town (it's easy to find, you couldn't lose yourself here if you tried!) Casey's has a steady stream of pizza lovers on weekends, holidays and actually any day of the week! The price is right, and in fact with the purchase of a large pizza, there is a coupon on the side of the box....save 10 of these coupons and you can redeem them for a free pizza! Not bad when you think about it! Believe me when I say, once you eat Casey's pizza, those coupons will begin piling up fast!
The next time you are in the area or are simply looking for the best pizza around, swing by Casey's......order a taco pizza and chat while you're waiting....I promise you, the reasonable price, fantastic taste and friendly customer service, will have you becoming a repeat customer in no time!

Main Street Antiques and Art is located on...you guessed it!....Main street! Since West Branch is a wonderfully small town with character galore, this store isn't hard to find but it IS hard to leave. Filled with antiques that rotate often, depending upon sales, this store also carries a nice array of art. I too have found on my jaunts to West Branch, that though the hours are clearly posted, sometimes the owners (who live in the area) may not be around. I've learned that it is wise , especially with the high cost of gas these days, to call ahead if you really want to do some serious shopping. Although, even if they are closed when you visit, West Branch has many interesting shops....I'm sure you'll find a store that's just right for you!

Recently Iowa City was the victim of a bully of the natural disaster kind. The bully I speak of was a tornado that hit the area on April 13, 2006. Because of the flying debris, many autos were damaged during the storm.
Recently I had cause to talk to a friend who told me about her experiences during the storm. She related that not only did she have damage to her home but the windows on her car were a mess! I commented that her car didn't look bad now and she told me she had called the AutoGlass Specialists and that they were on the job in no time, driving up in their "little red trucks" to fix her windows.
She related that the cost was really reasonable (and she showed me the bill) and that she would call them again if she had any problems. She said many things left her confused and dazed after the storm but there was one thing that was apparent to me...she wasn't confused at all over the job these guys did for her. They came to the aid of a friend when she needed them and did a great job to boot....and the cost was really less than I ever would have believed.
I was sold...if anything were ever to happen to me I would call these guys.....they stand up to the test of any car owner...they are dependable and that is everything in this day and age of shoddy work!

May has become a busy time of the year for our family, so it seems more and more we are hitting fast food at supper time. Needing a break from the regular "happy meal" mentality the other night I suggested to my son he choose something other than "the golden arches". He immediately said WENDY'S. At first I must admit I was a bit hesitant but when he reminded me of their chili and baked potatoes....my mind was made up and the car was headed towards WENDY'S.
I had forgotten how much I really liked this kind of fast food. Not only are the burgers the kind that actually taste like beef, but they are made with just the right amount of condiments (no leaky ketchup on this burger folks!) and the chili...well let's just say, it was tasty fresh and hit the spot for something a little bit different in the way of fast food.
And I have to add (my son insisted) that the toys WENDY'S offers are the best! He remarked (and I agreed) that they are a better toy. They seem to be made of a better quality material and in fact have more "usability" than do other toys.
That said I need to mention the friendliness and calm attitudes of the workers in this WENDY'S. So often you see workers in fast food joints being crabby and harried...not the case here...they are personable and kind to boot. So, if you find yourself on this side of Iowa city in need of something a little bit different, head for WENDY'S.....and enjoy something fresh, tasty and served with a side order of "friendly"!

I preface my review as you can easily see with the phrase..."for the young at heart". I do so because I don't honestly see how people can categorize and limit stores such as Vanity to teens and young 20 somethings...for in doing so they lose out on some pleasant shopping experiences!
While it is true that I saw my 20's some time ago...(no Rahul, I will NOT give my real age! LOL) I have found some nice articles at Vanity for gifts and believe it or not, for myself as well.
Recently I was shopping the mall when they were offering "with purchase" a "$15 off of any $30 purchase" coupon to be used in the near future. Needing "dorm pants" (their term, not mine,... for loose sweats with a lower waistline) I made my purchase and received the resulting coupon.
I must be honest and admit I did not think much more about the coupon until I was in said mall this past week and passed by VANITY once again. I ventured within and found, to my delight, some cute camisole like tops on sale. Immediately making a "shopping decision" I chose one in teal and another of the same style in black.
As I checked out, I couldn't help but smile at the upbeat, helpful, FRIENDLY young woman who completed my purchase. Not only did she comment on the colors being really "nice" for my coloring, she also suggested where I could go to obtain "extras" I need that VANITY did not supply.
It is rare when I venture in shops obviously geared towards younger women these days, but I can tell you this much...VANITY will not be on my "check out often"
list....simply for their quality of items, attractiveness of display and personnel as well. It's well worth visiting for the great customer service alone!!!....and if you do, be sure to let me know what you think...I'm always willing to listen and edit my review as need be! Caio!
