I made reservations with Alamo the afternoon before and there were zero problems. It was only $44 to rent a car for an entire day which is decent for Boston. The location is also great since it's located in between Porter and Harvard, so it's very convenient to us Somerville/Cambridge Peoples. I highly recommend them!

I've gone here a few times in the past since it is much closer than a whole foods. They have a great selection and the people there are very helpful and nice. My only complaint is that the prices are a bit steep. Herbs and natural products tend to always be expensive, but I feel like Cambridge Naturals is a little bit higher since they are the little guy. I'd rather have though than not, so if higher prices keeps them alive, then so be it!

I had heard so many good things about Wally's, so my husband and I finally decided to visit. We went on a Saturday night and the place was entirely too crowded! The music and the ambience were great though (if I imagined less people there). The cocktail waitress literally had to squeeze through the crowd to get people drinks. I definitely want to visit on a week day to get a better feel for the place. I have a feeling there might be some cool jazz to be had there.

I have mixed feelings about this realty company. One on hand, I was able to live right in Fenway for $535 a month as a tenant at will (month to month), but on the other hand, this company is devious and not to be trusted. For shared apartments, if someone moves out, they must replace themselves with a new roomate: the new roomate gives the old roomate, "first and last's month rent" which is actually going straight to the old roomate to pay them back for what they originally paid to get in. So, technically, the realty company is not involved at all. To top it off, when I eventually moved out and replaced myself, an intern was working at Joy Realty and he had no idea what he was doing. He calculated what the new roomate owed me and it was all wrong. I recommend drawing up your own contracts if you end up renting with this company.
Another downside is that they are able to raise rent whenever they like, since there are no actual lease terms. My building was also broken into on a number of occasions. The buildings they rent aren't the safest, but if you're looking to live in the middle of everything for less, give it a try!

Anytime I was in the area, I could help stop in and try a new pastry. This place has some of the best tasting asian baked goods I've ever had. The peanut butter bun and the coconut bun were some of my favorites. After eating one it was never enough! I recommend buying a few, in case you run into the same problem! The staff is friendly and the pastries are very cheap! I recommend bringing cash, since they don't take credit card.

When I used to live in Allston, it was always a fun time to visit Super 88, especially if you're into asian foods! They have a food court, complete with thai, japanese, chinese, indian, and every other type of food you can think of. They also have a bubble tea place with great tasting (although not cheap) drinks. The grocery store is also a must see - they carry a million different types of exotic foods at decent prices. I definitely recommend if you're in the area or looking to make some yummy asian food :)

If you want quality prints made, cameras inc. is definitely the place to go. They make sure to spot check for dust marks and irregular color, which a lot of other places don't do (ie ritz or cvs...). The service is also great and they make sure to get your prints back in record time.. This particular location is located right in Davis Square on Elm Street. They also do passport photos and other things like that. Recommend!

When I used to live in Fenway, this was a fun place to occasionally go to for a beer or an appetizer. They have a wide variety of interesting, home-brewed beers, such as the peanutbutter ale. I'm not a huge beer person, so I usually got hard cider, which was also quite tasty. The atmosphere can get a bit loud and touristy, so I recommend going during off-peaks times.

The environment and food here is great. We came at a great time and practically had the restaurant to ourselves. The food is authentic, but with a gourmet, mexican flair. The drinks were also dynamite. They had an assortment of flavored margaritas. I ended up getting the pomagranate margarita which was very delicious, with no harsh side effects (possibly top shelf tequila used?). At any rate, a great place. I highly recommend!

Another great coffee place I've only been to one time - but it was enough to make a good impression on me! The coffee and desserts here are out of this world. We even bought some of their flavored toffee coffee and enjoyed it for a few weeks after our visit. The location is also beautiful. I recommend sitting outside if the weather permits.
