I love black sesame ice cream and its not easy to come by usually. I love durian ice cream but I warn that it is an acquired taste...I have eaten the fruit before as well. This establishment makes it fresh so its extra flavorful and you get your fill for chump change.
If black sesame or durian sounds too exotic, don't knock it before you try it. The flavors are always surprisingly creamy and sweet with a touch of flavor. If you aren't feeling too experimental then go for vanilla...they make it fresh with bits of vanilla bean. Delicious!

I was visiting San Diego and decided it would be great to try out a new salon. A few good layers placed in the right places could really make a great head of hair.
Luckily, while I was shopping in Hillcrest, I stumbled among Jet Rhys which looked pretty hipster cool and in high hopes that I would get a layered cut that wouldn't leave me looking like a shaggy dog.
I was matched with Melissa the stylist who understood what I was looking for. I liked Melissa, she was pretty cool to talk with and I would look to her again for another haircut the next time I am in town. I needed to shatter the hair on the sides of my hair and I wanted to cut off all the dead ends while keeping length. I was also growing out a disconnected cut, which meant layers in all uneven forms.
Melissa gave me bangs that were long and flattering and gave me the overall shape that I wanted.
My hair looks pretty cool up in a ponytail or down and loose.
I was pretty thrilled and more than satisfied with my first experience with this establishment. I would recommend it to anyone looking for the latest cutting techniques.

I had an artificial tree for 8 years and after all the packing and re-assembling...it just didn't look too much like a tree anymore.
I decided to buy a tree from Home Depot one year and each year I go back there to get my trees. The trees are healthy and large and for $30 its a bargain for a tree that lasts after the New Years. The workers at Home Depot who are doing the trees are usually very courteous while helping to select your tree, wrapping it and loading it onto your car...all in the freezing cold.
I have bought trees from local street vendors only to have the needles fall way too soon after Christmas day.
Don't forget to tip the workers and don't forget to recycle your tree to make mulch to grow new trees.

Located in the nook of a strip mall may not sound too appetizing but Sushi Ota is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been to for fresh ample cuts of sashimi and sushi. The place is considered a good price for high quality sushi...not a good deal for fish. You can't expect to get fresh raw fish for a good deal...those restaurants offering deals for sushi that are suspiciously too low are the ones I tend to avoid. The atmosphere is clean and casual and sports a large sushi bar that surrounds the chefs. Omakase is the deal breaker here and I think it is a great price for what you get. If usually it is too pricey for you, then check out the lunch specials at noon. On the weekends, you best make reservations for dinner because the place is usually jammed packed.
HIghly recommended establishment.

Aside from a great selection of freshly brewed beer, Karl Strauss also has a wide selection on their food menu which ranges from burgers to ahi steaks. The bratwursts were very tasty as were the garlic mashed potatoes that accompanied the dish.
A place for the beer connoisseur where you can choose your beer according to its stats such as bitterness and body. I like my beer with a nice hoppy flavor and full bodied and when served fresh, it is absolutely delicious.
Service here is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is upbeat. A great place for college kids or a night for low key drinks amongst friends.

The materials being used now look quite rich and no more contrast stitching (which can instantly cheapen the look)

I do have to agree with the other reviewers that although the styles are great, they sure skimped on comfort. I never did understand how a shoe can pass the evaluation stage when it has a wooden heel with an unwrapped insole. How can anyone be expected to walk around all day on wood?

This place would be great for a first date since it has a cute French bistro feel to it. The full bar is a small cozy space where you can have intimate conversations with your bartender. The staff was very friendly and service was just great.

I ate here for the first time and I was impressed at how delicious all the dishes were. Authentic Thai food is spicy and I am usually disappointed at other establishments that have bland food that looks and smells like thai but the flavor is no where to be found.
I especially liked the pad thai that was sweet and spicy and not orange in color as I have seen in other places. The spicy beef is highly recommended for those craving for some real kick. Try the sticky rice over the regular jasmine rice, it goes so well it all the sauces left on your plate.
The prices may be higher than what you are used to paying for thai food but the food is just that good.

This place is a tried and true place to the older NYC punk scene and is as much of a landmark as CBGB's (at least to most Ny'ers of the underground scene at the time)
The storefront looks like a regular body jewelry store with showcases and a cash register. It is not until you ascend the stairs that you come to the place of piercing...which looks very much like a dentist office. It is clean, organized and instruments are lined up in their sterile packaging ready to be used.
Piercings should NOT be inexpensive and the operator should have knowledge of what the consequences may be and have free will of explaining it to you.
Long standing establishment with a great record for piercings and tattoos. Why trust any other?
