I have always been a fan of tattoos and piercing...already have 7 tatts to my name and 5 piercings in each ear, etc.
Most places are ok to get tatts, not the greatest...many arent that clean, and look like dives, but I found one that is fantastic!
Skin FX is a great shop...its clean/sterile, the people are great, very attentive, friendly, cooperative and willing to do their best to give you your best tatts and your best tattoo experience!
They have lots of options for designs, including the willingness to do your own designs. If you pick a design out of their flash books, they can give you ideas and suggestions on how to make it look even better.
And they give you great aftercare instructions, salves, etc as well.
Rob runs a tight ship, and thats what makes it work...he knows what hes doing, and hes damned good at it!!

When I first moved to southern California a few years back, my bf refused to eat sushi...said sushi was "bait". Well, the times they are a changin!
I turned him on to this great little place in a tiny strip mall in El Cajon. They have a huge variety of Sushi to choose from and its all made fresh while you wait. The prices are outstanding...you get large quantities of sushi for a very small price. And they pride themselves on making every piece look good.
The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the prices are wonderful, and the atmosphere is quiet and homey.
I took my bf there and got him to try some of the different varieties of sushi...Told him not all sushi is "raw fish" so it aint bait lol. He loves sushi now, and is always eager to try something he hasnt tried before...and this place made that possible!

My family loves cars, racing, etc. Many years ago, my fiance owned an AMC Javelin. It broke his heart when he had to part with it. Well, needless to say they are hard to find, and harder to come by...there are very few left out there. At least those that are out there, and available, are usually rusted out wrecks.
We got lucky...earlier this year, my fiance's daughter found out that her classmate was selling her car. Come to find out, she had the exact car my fiance had been pining for...a 72 AMC Javelin...she only wanted $2000 for it!
We went over and took a look at it, the car was great...had a tiny dent in the right rear corner panel, and had a little rust, nothing terminal, and the dash/interior needed some work...but it was not a wreck by any stretch of the imagination.
It's a work in progress, but it is coming along.
Well, we heard about the Monday Nite Car Club. It is a small car club, about 30 members, give or take. Nothing fancy, just a group of folks that love their cars...no limit as to make/model or year of car. Just a place to come if you are a car enthusiast.
We decided to join. And what a blast we have been having. Everyone has basically adopted our son, he loves everyone in the club as well.
We do a lot of charity work, car shows, rod runs, etc.
When we first joined, the chairman was a gentleman named Kenny Place...it was later taken over by George Griffin after Kenny stepped down. It is a very family friendly club...some of the members have basically grown up in the club!
There are lots of different car clubs out there, but so many of them are very strict in their rules, like having to be from a certain year, or a certain model...but this club isnt like that, its very laid back, sure there are a few rules, very few. The main goal is to have fun while being a car enthusiast.

For many years I have been trying to find my father. All thru my young life, my mom gave me false information about my real father. I didnt find out till much later my father was indeed alive. Of course she claimed she didnt know where.
I took it upon myself to find him...I had tried everything, all kinds of online searches, libraries, public records, etc...I couldnt find anything.
One day I was watching Maury Povitch or one of those daytime talk shows, that had a segment on people looking for lost loves, lost parents, siblings, etc. At the end of the segment an ad played for 800 USSearch...so I figured what the heck, I'd give it a go. That was a big mistake.
I gave them all the information I had..granted it wasnt much but they claimed that they have been dead on with far less information. So I sent them $100, gave them loads of information and their search began.
About a month or so later, I get some correspondence from them...boy was I excited, I was finally going to be like these people on the tv show and finally meet up with my dad....boy was I wrong.
What I ended up with, was not a simple name and address for my father...it was a document, several pages long, of names and addresses...some of which were not even male, they were female...and i mean literally hundreds of names and addresses. They didnt do anything I couldnt have done myself for free.
They claim if they cant get results for you, the service is free...but what they dont tell you is that they will give you every name and address possible, some that arent even close to what you gave them to begin with...and in doing so, that is their way of giving you results...you end up with nothing.

It was a typical lazy Sunday morning...everyone was up and ready to face another day.
Phillip and I were reading the Sunday paper, Jr was reading the sales ads (as he always does) and mom was reading the funnies. Jr got all excited about something he found in an ad, so he brought it over to me.
Well, being as my son and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen together, he knows the things I want and need...well he was reading the Kohl's ad and saw several of the items I said I needed for the kitchen.
So Jr rousted his daddy and we all headed off to Kohl's in Santee. I'm glad we did! I had never been to a Kohl's before...I had always thought they were out of my price range and just too upscale for my taste (kind of like the way Mervyn's and JCPenney's had gone). But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
The store was neat, clean, well stocked and organized. The prices were outstanding. The inventory was fantastic! They had items I would never have thought a department store would have...I thought I was going to have to go to a specialty kitchen shop...but I was wrong...it was all right there at Kohls!
I had just broken my Belgian waffle iron, and they had a new one, top of the line name brand, and it was cheaper than the one I had bought before...also I found a cuisinart griddler...fantastic product at an awesome sale price. It was half the price I had seen it for elsewhere!
Needless to say, I know where I'm going to start doing my kitchen gadget shopping!

We had been out doing some shopping and running errands in Santee, and we were just about to head home, when we realized we needed to get a few things at a car part shop so we could finish up on one of the restoration projects for our classic car.
We didnt want to do a bunch more running around to get to our usual car part store, so we went to the nearest one...which happened to be PepBoys.
The store was neat, clean, well organized and well lit. Products were well stocked and easy to find, not picked over like so many other stores. There were staffers everywhere, ready to help you if you need them, but they werent the type to get in your face when all you wanted to do is look.
The products were very reasonably priced. They had far more than just car parts, they had something for everyone...we ended up picking up a great stuffed bear for my son that was dressed in Army fatigues, holding an American flag. I also picked up a small AAA first aid kit for my purse. They also had some very unique car fresheners....we collect Betty Boop figurines, and lo and behold, our son found the cutest Betty Boop air freshener for the car, so of course, along with a sponge Bob air freshener, we headed towards the counter.
The cashier was very courteous and friendly, she politely asked if we found everything and when we told her we had missed one item we had been looking for, she immediately knew right where it was and pointed us in the right direction.
A fun time was had by all!

My family and I had been busy all day, with Jr in school and Phillip and I working on the car and cleaning up around the house, we hadnt stopped very long to eat.
I had gotten some coupons for KFC/AW in the mail, and figured it was a great excuse to go use them.
We proceeded to pick Jr up after school and we headed down the road to our local KFC/AW. The coupon was for free "Papa burgers" with the purchase of a large drink.
We get there and it isn't too busy, its pretty early in the afternoon around 2:15pm. There was three people working behind the counter. There were 3 people in line (counting us).
The young lady that was working the register, seemed nice enough, but input the order wrong to start out with...She had double charged us, and didnt even catch the mistake till we came back up and told her to recheck the order...She did, and realized what had happened...she got the manager who fixed the problem, and gave us back the difference in what the error was....but that wasnt the end of the ordeal...we got our drinks and went over to sit down at a booth.
We watched people come and go...for nearly a half hour, we finally got the cashier's attention, who couldnt believe we were still waiting.
As it turns out, when they corrected our order, it somehow managed to kick our order out of the system and it never got processed. So we told them our order again...it took them another 15 minutes! We finally got our food, it was hurredly slapped together, it was sloppy, the cheese wasnt melted, nor were the burgers even hot.
There was no one at the counter at that time, so there was no excuse to make such an awful product. Needless to say, we won't go back to that store again.

Im very much into cooking and baking, and Im always looking for new recipes and ideas. I used to just watch the shows on the Food Network, but I dont always have the time to do that.
I found a great company that puts out a whole line of recipe/cooking software.
The company is called DVO Enterprises. Its run by a young man by the name of Daniel Oaks, Jr. He is very family oriented, and his business reflects that.
The software line he puts out is called "Cook'n". Its America's easiest to use recipe and menu planning software. And I wouldnt be saying this if it wasn't true.
I have a lot of software for cooking, etc...and many of them are just too complicated to use, takes a computer tech to install them, etc.
Dan's software is very user friendly, and if you ever have a problem, you can go to his website, and they actually have live people that will take care of you immediately! Right there online, or you can call them.
If you email them, they will usually get back to you within 24 hours! They are very prompt, very friendly, very knowledgeable.
I've literally told hundreds of people about this company and their products.
They have such titles as "Cook'n lite and healthy", "Cook'n for Diabetes", "Cook'n for kids",
"Cook'n low carb" and "Cook'n Healthy and hearty". THere are dozens of other titles, and they have the best recipes, easy to follow, and the family loves them.
Go to their website and you will find that they have more than just software, too. They have such items as recipe cards, recipe binders, recipe boxes, appliances, cooking tools, etc. Its a one stop shop for your favourite foodie out there!
They also put out a really great newsletter, that has great stories, recipes, etc.

You can really tell fall is here...its boot season in southern California!
Boot sales are popping up all over. But the place that I have found exactly what I was looking for was at Payless Shoe Source.
The boots range anywhere from $19 on up! Depends on what you want, and the look you want.
Do you want ankle boots? Calf length boots or knee length boots? They have them and everything in between.
I found a great pair of zip side, black, short boots...they look like the biker style, great heel, and fit great.
Hard to find the right size? They can probably help you there, they have narrow, wide and everything in between as well.
Chunky heels, stilettos, etc...they have them all, and at great prices.
Lots of great compliments on these boots too!

Ever have one of those people you just cant find the right gift for? Or a person that has everything? Here's a solution...go to Spencer's gifts.
Its a small store, usually found in larger malls. I know of at least two in Southern California.
Have a significant other and feeling a little frisky? They have an adult section of novelties, chocolate body paint, edible underwear, etc...
They have a nice retro 60s and 70s era area as well...black light, posters, tshirts, incense, burners, etc...
They have a great selection of jewelry, tshirts, games, posters, keyrings, and just plain unique and hard to find items.
The store is at its best during Halloween...the store takes on a whole new life! Great costumes, halloween decore items, jewelry, etc
I wouldnt take most kids in there tho...if you do, keep them out of certain areas. They do have childrens items in there. I have found some really cute items for my son. Including a stuffed Larry the cable guy that has soundbites from his stage shows.
For the most part, the prices are really inexpensive, and the gifts are very unique to say the least.
