I have been here twice and it is absolutely fabulous! It is a 30 something haven, but I don’t find it to be too pretentious to enjoy. You will find a nice selection of wine, of course, but the food and atmosphere is why we go. The servers are awesome- especially considering how busy the place gets. A 40 minute wait is typical on a Friday night, but grab a glass of wine and hang out around the perimeter. For 4 people we spent $75 plus our drinks—we had several courses of yummy bruschetta, to Caprese salad to a green salad with pinenuts and organic greens, and a Panini sandwich with prosciutto and brie. To finish we had a chocolate course—with 5 mini deserts, enough to share, and drool over. This is a great place you will love it. fyi-- apparently the place used to be a postoffice....

I recently meandered into this location, desparate for a trim. I have been to many salons around town, but find my stylist is always changing jobs, and I rarely get to stick with someone. So I end up here- I had heard it was a good place so I tried it. The owner greeted me very nicely, and I felt at home right away. He obviously is very proud of his business, and that is refreshing.
I set up my appointment with a master stylist, and she was great. She didnt keep me too long in the chair, she listened to what I wanted, and did a great job! The price was around $45 and I left a nice tip. I had more than a trim as it turned out- my layers were a mess, and we took off an inch to get things back in order-- worth every penny! Dont let the construction on Bell and 7th st keep you away.

Ohh I am in love with the green tea smoothie that these guys make. It set me off to buy my very own matcha and put it in everything I eat and drink. The smoothie is cold and creamy and has a green tea blast that makes me just giddy- green tea has something in it that just makes my brain cells sizzle and pop, and it makes me addicted to these drinks..I go out of my way to hit a Robek's, and they even have a punch card, which is something that Jamba does not... Anyway, check this place out!

I love to Jamba. I have been a Jamba fan for years, and I was so happy when this location opened up. It was right next to the gym I went to, and I loved the Pnut butter moooo drink. It is full of protein, and it gave me such a boost. of course, it was loaded with sugar-- but so yummy. They have really done alot with the menu over the last few years, to get the sugars down, and protein up and just over all better. This is one of the better locations, so if you are around- drop in!

I love all Targets, and this one is no exception. It is a super Target- featuring a huge location and more grocery items. It is not my favorite Target, but I do go here once in awhile to mix things up. I find their clothing selection to be less my style than the other locations, which seems weird to me, but I still find stuff to buy. I like their housewares area more, there is a different selection on this as well, but more my style. Last time I went to this location, they had a lot on clearance, and they were re-arranging the store- it seems like something new is going to happen. Maybe it will be more groceries, I don't know. I will keep checking on it though, at least I will see some great deals!
They have a very nice outdoor area as well, so be sure not to miss it-- they have more displays etc that you can see than most stores. So it is handy. See you there!

I admit that I have lived here for over a decade, and still know little about the plantlife that is here. I live on a mountain preserve, and just recently have taken to learning the names of a few plants I have run across. If you need to find out info about plantlife here, the Garden is an excellent place to go. They have lots of information, and species to purchase for your desert oasis. Admittedtly, I have only been there once, and it was at night for their Luminarias presentation, it is a wonderful place to go. Luminarias is around the winter holidays and the park is alive with lights, music and hot cidar. I enjoyed it alot. I also enjoyed the gift store where all the goodies could be found. I keep meaning to go back in the daytime, but haven't gotten to it. But I will, and you should, many times during the year to see what is blooming. A great place to bring new desert folks to appreciate all that can really grow here.

I love to go into this store and browse. There is no better place to find gadgets and fancy euro cooking ware. I am a big fan of Nigella Lawson, Domestic Goddess, and on many occasions I have had to search all over town to find the tools to cook some of her meals. I have found a plenty at this store. From madeline pans to nifty gadgets, you will find what you need too. I also adore their eclectic furniture mix. I almost bought a rustic book shelf there once, but it didnt fit my space. But it was lovely. The service is great, and the prices are reasonable, considering that you can only find the stuff there.

Shogun is a great place to take friends and family that love sushi. We had lunch there this weekend, and had a great time. The service is great, and the atmosphere is upbeat and fun. If you want a bigger adventure, sit at the sushi bar. I would highly suggest the Surfer Roll. It has spicy tuna, salmon roe, and shrimp in some kind of yummy orange sauce. This roll is more expensive than other rolls, but it is huge. I think I could eat just that for lunch. The other item that I love is their turkey salad. I order this with tempura, and it is great. To finish it off, if you have any room, I suggest the Ninja sundae. It is usually best shared, and slightly modified- it is a piece of spongecake tempura fried, topped with green tea ice cream and chocolate sauce. I say modified because the old menu had oyster sauce and chocolate sauce, so I say skip the chocolate, and go for the oyster… again, this is a meal in itself. Awesome!

This review is for the Scottsdale Mall location----Sarku Japan is a quick and easy way to eat some sushi while shopping. My husband and I ate dinner here yesterday, when we found ourselves stuck in the mall around dinner time. We were offered samples of teriyaki chicken, and we could not deny it. We ended up getting the 99 cent upgrade to double meat, being the carnivores we are, It came with white rich and steamed veggies. The portion was huge, for $4.29 + .99 we had enough meat alone to be stuffed. The steamed veggies were a little light- there were bean sprouts, some sad looking cabbage and 2 yellowy slices of carrots. I ate my veggies, like a good girl, but I was not that impressed with them. We also added a sushi combo of California rolls and salmon rolls. We made a mistake there- the chicken was way too much to eat, and we ended up overeating. The sushi was ok. It was being made as it was ordered, and it was not cold. This was probably a mistake to eat it, so if I never write another review again, you know I didn’t make it…hehehe. Seriously though, it tasted fresh, but it was not that great overall.
SO would I suggest this place? I would eat here again, and given the choices at the mall for healthy food, I would suggest it, but only if the sushi is cold.

The Rainforest Café is not for the faint of heart. We went there yesterday for lunch- a weekday, during the summer, and it was packed. There were screaming children and loud music. This is all ok if you are looking for some excitement, but for a quiet hubby lunch- no. The atmosphere is upbeat- there are light and puppet shows every 8-10 minutes and the kids go nuts.
The service is pretty slow on a busy day, or at least it was for us. For 2 burgers with potato chips, we ended up paying $19. These were just about the cheapest items on the menu, and frankly, although they were tasty and big, they were highly overpriced.
The hardest part for me was the environmental conditions. As soon as we got close to the heavily chlorinated fountain I started to have respiratory issues, so I asked to be moved far away from it. The fun didn’t end there though- the sneezing was pretty constant throughout the meal. It occurred to me that the lush garden of tropical plants was covered with dust, and it was killing me.
So would I suggest dining here- probably not. If you have kids and no allergies, it might be a fun trip for a birthday or special occasion, but for the price, I would say Chuck E. Cheese is a lot more fun.
