If you're looking for originality you won't find it there but you can find some nice accessories.

Macy's on Herald Square has one of the best costume jewelry lines in New York. They have this whole wing dedicated to from 1920's collection to Juicy Couture. I'll admit some of the prices are kind of high which is why I wait for the new inventory to come in. That's when they get try to get rid of the old stuff by putting it in these bins and mark everything half off. You can score some really great finds this way.

I went to Zales back in to buy my mother an ankle bracelet for her birthday. She had been hinting for months for a gold ankle bracelet with hearts on it. I'm telling you it was Serendipity. I found the perfect ankle bracelet and they were having a sale at the time so I got a lovely high quality ankle bracelet than I normally would have had paid for it. They even had a very cheap warranty and they do free cleanings and repairs. I'm loving Zales.

I first heard about Serendipity 3 from Oprah (May she someday run for President!) and had to try it for myself. They make this Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (Yes it's spelled correctly!) that is to die for. It's hot chocolate but they frozen (hence the name) and they serve it to you with whip cream on top. It's like the best chocolate drink ever! A little costly but so worth the price. If you don't live in New York you can buy the frozen version online or make it yourself. Here's the recipe: http://www.oprah.com/foodhome/food/recipes/food_20041028_frrrozen.jhtml

If you have never had a cinabun then you don't know what you're missing. The cinnabuns come out of the oven piping hot and its this gooey, cinnamony, cremy concoction. Just one bite puts you into a sugar coma! They go for $2.49 in the Staten Island mall and you can sometimes get free samples. I recommend getting a fork because eating it can get messy. I also recommend eating it little by little so you can really savor it.

The godiva store in Midtown Manhattan has some of the best chocolate in New York. The chocolate comes in all shapes and sizes. You can buy a giant 48 piece box or you can get a simple candy bar. I should warn you Godiva chocolate is pretty expensive. An 18 piece gold box can cost close to $30. They do have in store samplings and after holidays you can usually get lots of candy boxes for half off. Check out their website at www.godiva.com or get on their newsletter for sampling events and discounts.
