I have flown in and out of many airports, but none have been as slow and tedious as the Tulsa International Airport. I was discussing this with a friend just a couple nights ago, and I am certainly not the only one that feels this way. He recently flew from Tulsa to Phoenix and then to San Diego, and then back using the same airports. He told me the security checks at the other two airports were nothing, compared to those at Tulsa International. These are the same experiences I have had, comparing Tulsa International with other major airports.
At Tulsa International Airport, you can expect to take your shoes off, have all your luggage searched, open computer cases, the whole bit. I flew with my son a few years ago, and had to take him out of his stroller, for them to search it, had to go through the metal detector myself, and then go back for my son! I was in such a rush, and almost had to laugh at what I felt was the absurdity of the situation, but then had to realize that there could be someone who appeared as everyday and innocent as I am, and they could actually be a potential danger. I have to admit, I did feel better about the security of my flight!
All in all, the Tulsa International Airport is a nice place. They offer several shops inside the airport to make your wait more comfortable, and have several rental car dealers available on site. They offer a shuttle to and from the airport for anyone who needs it.
Although the security checks and slow overall moving at the Tulsa International Airport can seem like a hassle, we can rest better, knowing that they are doing all they can to keep us safe.

Anyone who has been in Tulsa for more than a few weeks has probably heard of Big Splash! It is the fantastic water park, that features slides for beginners, all the way to those who really want a challenge! They have both large pools and kiddie pools, so everyone can have some safe fun.
Big Splash has been around for many years, and definitely has its fan base... it is usually packed all throughout the summer months! The prices are average... good if you buy a family season pass. You can also find coupons on their web site, and they have specials where you can bring a Coke can for a huge discount.
Once you get in, you're not going to want to leave... so be sure to bring plenty of sunblock!

Ah, Bell's Amusment Park... it always brings back fun childhood memories! I am in my thirties, and we used to go to Bell's Amusement Park for our big school field trip from kindergarten through eight grade! I can remember looking at that Zingo, being utterly terrified. A few years later, I finally rode it... more terrifying than I had previously imagined! lol
Bell's is like a rite of passage for anyone who lives in Eastern Oklahoma. So many of us who loved it as children are now the ones taking our children... and teenagers (oh, why did I have to remind myself?)!
They are great for many reasons. Besides the tradition, they are always adding new rides and attractions, so they keep up with the times. They have rides for the youngest children, as well as for those really seeking a hard core thrill! They often offer special priced nights, so it is really affordable for anyone to go and spend the entire day.
If you've never been to Bell's and you live in Tulsa, you're missing out on a part of History!

This is a fabulous store, where you could, literally, spend the entire day browsing and shopping! Located right in downtown Wewoka, it's building is also an Historical building. Before you even go through the door, you feel like you're waling into a part of the past, and in a way, you are. The store is filled with beautiful antiques and collectibles of all kinds. While some of it is rather high priced, there are also items that can be bought at lower prices, basically there is something for everyone. Their collection changes often, so there is always something new to see. This is a favorite for my husband and I, to take a day and get away just having some fun together.

I remember when Google first introduced Gmail... invitations were actually selling on Ebay, just for a chance at getting in on this fantastic new email service, offering almost unlimited space, great search features, and introducing more and more features the longer it goes on! Now, many other webmail programs have started following suit, although most of them really don't come close to offering all of the features Gmail offers.
Well, Google has announced another free program to its users... Picasa Web Albums are an exciting new addition! Offering the ability to easily upload and store your precious photos, in your choice of a public or private album. The storage space is enough to hold approximately one thousand images... so much more than I am used to, especially in a free service!
Like Gmail, Picasa Web Albums is another service that is by invitation only, but with Picasa, it is easy to get on the list to be invited by Google.... no buying invitations on Ebay! lol All you need is a gmail account, and you can sign up to be on their invitation list at this https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=lh2&passive=true&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2F .
