I've been to a lot of hairdressers over the years and while some of them seem to get it right, it never lasts and sure enough after the third or fourth trip, my hair is a mess again. After searching all over, I found Maria at Thalia and I am set! She always listens to what I want, offers great advice on how to change it up (if I want) and I always leave looking great! Even better, my hair still looks great weeks after a cut.

I've eaten here over a dozen times and I still love it as much as the first. If you're going to dine here, get the omakase and be sure to get the $120 because the $80 one will just get you the pedestrian stuff you see on the menu. I was here last night and the place was packed (on a wednesday!). If I didn't make my reservation for 8:15 I would've had to make it for 9:30 as all the spots were booked. I love the toro tuna tartare, the yellowtail carpaccio, the oysters, the kampachi salad, the 8 spice lobster, the kobe beef sirloin, the sushi, and even my apricot pound cake. Yeah, can you tell this is what I had last night? Awesome awesome!!! Five stars all the way.

My experiences with Philadelphia salons over the years have been lukewarm. Having worked with a top stylist in the salon industry for a number of years, my expectations are high.
Chris Harrison never disappoints, he is the real deal...talented and professional.
My color is always perfection. Chris even called me at home a few days before my wedding to make sure that I loved my hair.
Best of all, Chris makes it fun!

The food is prepared expertly and the table side Caesar salad presentation is entertaining with a most delicious result. This is a great place for an anniversary or other very special meal. I'd never been to this restaurant and was invited to attend a surprise birthday for a friend. A party bus picked us all up in Maryland where we live and took us for the hour drive to Bistro Romano.
I have some photos posted here on my blog but Citysearch does not permit me to post the URL. You can see them perhaps by googling Chronicles of a Country Girl super fun happy (it's what I named the post).
A section had been reserved for our party of 22, downstairs near the intimate wine cellar room. We were given a set menu to order from and I chose the Chicken Putanesca. My only complaint is that the caesar salad, so widely touted, was very much on the wilted side with too much dressing. The flavor was still incredible but it was just a tad disappointing. The Putanesca was divine, as were the roasted vegetables. We enjoyed a layered birthday cake and the coffee was excellent. One of the best cups of coffee I've been served in a restaurant, quite frankly. The atmosphere was unique. Superior service.

Stop listening to the people complaining! They're just annoyed they didn't get hugs and kisses. Emma is fast and good at what she does. I got a brazilian wax and it took less than 10 minutes, including me getting undress/dressed. Last time I went she had scented wax, it smelled like chocolate. Although, I said no frills, there's that one. Yes, she's not warm and fuzzy, but who would be after dealing with "down there" and cringing women (and sometimes men) all day? There's only one other person who I have gone to and gotten my bikini down --worst decision ever, but I was out of town and needed one badly. Yes, she might talk on the phone or yell russian, but she's good at what she does and works with her family --who doesn't yell at their family everyone and while haha. All in all, go! No need to spend $60+ dollars, if you need someone to be all warm and fuzzy and spill your feeling too go out to coffee with a girlfriend.
Pros: FAST, EASY, LESS PAIN, SCENTED WAX, CHEAP
Cons: NO FRILLS
