The Barkin' Dog Grill is a name that I wasn't entirely sure about. Anything with dog automatically makes me think that they sell Hot Dogs only. Well, they do in fact sell some great hot dogs, but they also sell hamburgers and other American food. The Barkin' Dog Grill has some great hamburgers, and fries! That atmosphere is very nice, and you will always find someone in a uniform dining there. The Barkin' Dog is the place to try!

One of my New Years Resolutions in 2007 is to lose weight. What better place to do it then In Shape City on Floyd and Oakdale. This gym offers some great work out classes, a woman's only section, and a co-ed section. The fees are very fairly priced, and you can even purchase a membership to be used at all the locations. They have many offerings of free passes to get aquainted with their gym. This gym is one of the best, and is becoming a consistent figure around Modesto.

We have had the opportunity to visit Dodge Ridge Ski Area a few times. They are our closest Ski Area, just a short drive up the mountains. Not only did my five year old cousin learn to ski there, but so did my Grandmother. Dodge Ride is fun for the whole family. They offer lessons, rentals, a bar, and a restaurant just to name a few. Not to mention, Dodge Ridge has some great events that they promote. Just tonight, I visited their Urban Ski Rail Jam, which was packed. They had great opportunities to win, and were packed!

Tonight, my fiance and I were in need of hair cuts. We had decided to take a trip out to Target, so we wanted to see if they had anything in the neighborhood. To our delightment, they did, a Great Clips. I had never been in a Great Clips before, so we decided to try it. Once we stepped into Great Clips, we were shocked. There was one stylist working, with a full house. There was not a chair available in the entire salon. You would think that they would have had more staff to serve their customers, over an hour wait for a hair cut at an in and out salon, is not keen in this day and age. The Gap store, located in the Vintage Faire Mall, is one of my favorites stores. Each time I visit the mall, I stop into Gap to see what they have to offer. Their prices are always reasonable, their clearance even better, and the beauty products are exceptional. The atmosphere in this Gap store is outstanding, and the sales stuff are never overwhelming. My fiancee and I recently purchased a used 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner from Generation Motors. The purchase and financing seemed to ok in the beginning, with us putting some money down. We arrived toward the evening, so we were in fact the last customers there, and the only customers purchasing a vehicle at that time. They were able to make the payments go semi close to what we were looking for. During the original transaction they filled it up with gas, and promised a detail. Well, two weeks after we purchased the vehicle, they called to say that they could not guarantee that financing, due to the fact that my fiancee made a different salary each month. We had originally explained to them that his wage fluctuated on the job he was doing at that time. We went back in, put more money down, and got a much lower payment and interest rate. Overall we did walk out a head in the long run, but it would have been nice to have a more up front approach, and a salesman who listened. I would purchase from this dealership again, but I would be more inclined to go early during business hours as they seem rushed toward closing time.

I have recently joined Weight Watchers and was so happy at what I found. The environment at my local meeting is like a family. They seem to be very fun natured, polite people, that really are devoting themselves to Weight Watchers. The staff there is also fantastic. The ladies that assist you are very friendly, and the meeting leaders are also great. They really go above and beyond to recognize each person that joins, and their weight loss for each week. I can guarantee we are going to have a good partnership!

Working in downtown Modesto, means that we are frequently going out to lunch, in or around downtown. Recently we tried a new mexican restaurant called La Taquiza. I was a little hesitant at first, because well, mexican food can either be good, or bad. We entered La Taquiza, and was very happy about the atmosphere. It seemed like a very nice place, one that would very enjoyable at any time, lunch or dinner. I purchased the Super Nachos, and was surprised at just how good they were. This place is definately the place to go for nachos in downtown Modesto!

Picasso's Gourtmet Deli & Art is a must visit. They are conviently located on the corner of J and 10th Street, right across the street from Brenden Theater. They have some of the best sandwiches, and salads! Not to mention, they have an internet cafe, and art for sale. The art hanging on all of the walls is for sale, with the prices posted. The best part of Picasso's is the owner! He is there almost every day, and sounds just like you would imagine Pablo Picasso to sound!
