I'm really surprised at so many negative reviews. El Cap makes a great homemade burger. I think too many people have gotten used to fast food burgers and don't know a good burger when they get one. They are juicy, not greasy, the way a burger should be. They remind me of how burgers tasted when I was a kid before frozen patties were used most places. El Cap may not be the prettiest restaurant around, but it is very atmospheric. Just to clarify for all of you tourists who think Floridians don't know good food, I have visited every state in this country (and 6 continents). I know good food and El Cap has always been good when I've been there. If you don't like Florida food, I would suggest that you vacation elsewhere!

What a fun hair salon. I've seen to different people at this salon, love them both. The entire staff is curtious and friendly, and i always enjoy my time there. My hair is fun. These people are true hair professionals. They know their, colors and most of all, how to really cut someone's hair to make them feel beautiful and unique. Highly reccomended

Ted Peter's is a St Pete institution and rightfully so. It has some of the best smoked fish around. The fish spread and even the burgers are also excellent. Try some good old fashioned root beer, too. The potato salad is German style and very tasty. Sometimes you might have to wait to get seated, but it is well worth it.
Pros: Outstanding smoked fish
Cons: Can get crowded

Never in my life have I had a bad meal at Red Mesa. Red Mesa is not your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. It is much more elegant, and the food is gourmet. Red Mesa specializes in both seafood and steak. For seafood, I would recommend the sesame salmon. For steak, I would recommend the steak tampoco, which has a delightful sauce containing tropical fruits.

This restaurant offers some of the best done steaks in St. Petersburg. They not only sell dinner, but you can buy the steaks to cook at home. The location is convenient and they open only for dinner starting at 5pm. The service was satisfactory. The nice thing about this place is that if it's your birthday, you get a free steak dinner! You must provide a photo ID indicating the your bithdate.

Can't beat this Cantina on 3rd Street or the original on 4th Street ! I have had nothing but the BEST food & service at both.
I really admire the personal touch & lay-out of the newest RED MESA CANTINA, we loved the Tacos, Tuna,Steak & fantastic Sangria & many FANTASTIC Drinks.

This is a fantastic place to take family, a group of friends, or even for a fun and romantic night out with your loved one! Since my first time going there years ago, it keeps getting better and better! I'm so excited that THEY HAVE A TO GO MENU NOW! I tried it a couple of days ago and was beyond impressed! I love my steak rare, and was worried it might be too cooked and cold by the time I got home. Well, it was fantastic! The steak was just as tender as if I had had it at the restaurant! The veggies, and rice were also perfectly cooked! It was FANTASTIC! By far the best to go experience I've ever had!!
Pros: Fantastic food, service, ambience, and now an awesome to go menu option!!
Cons: NONE!!!

Moon Under Water is a local restaurant that attracts a bunch of tourists or visitors but is also frequented by a number of locals. It has wonderful fish & chips (though the chips could be more chip like and less french fry like) and curries. The portions are large and the atmosphere is very nice. They have Guinness on draft in addition to a number of other good choices. The staff are fairly attendant. There is a lovely outdoor dining area with a dozen tables at least. Prices are reasonable. Some sites list it as $20-30 per person, but that would seem to include a drink and appetizer as well as a main dish.
