We live out of town & drove in for the occasion. My Mother-In-Law shops here often so we bought her a special birthday gift. We purchased a difficult item to wrap & the friendly sales associate, I wish I would have gotten his name, put his talents into it & she was so excited at first site. Thankfully the wrap was transparent because she didn't want to unwrap it just yet. Thanks for making her day special.

My mom grew up in Rockford and knows the owner from way way back. The Seedy Sticks are my favorite! My husband and I live in West Texas so we don't get them fresh too terribly often but when we do they are heaven. The Reuben bagel sandwich is a treat for lunch and there is nothing better than a wheat bagel with their homemade raisin and walnut cream cheese along with a cup of coffee on a Saturday morning... I would recommend to all The Bagel Place.

I was out in Rockford for a business trip and wanted to try some teppan yaki. JMK was recommended to me by a local and so I decided to check it out. The restaurant looks great. Nice decor, good lighting. The food was very good. The scallops were amazing! Overall, I had a great experience. I plan on going again since I'm back in Rockford.

Their offerings range from traditional favorites such as Pepperoni and Supreme to more adventurous offerings such as the Thai Pie and the Taos Pizza. While they are best known for their Chicago-style pizzas, I would highly recommend trying the thin crust pizza. The thin crust pizzas are some of the best I have had anywhere.

I have always been a fan of Linos, going there for regular dinners, dinners before dances, etc. My best (and most important) experience was my wedding rehearsal dinner. My mother-in-law chose Linos on my recommendation, as I like their food. We were very happy with the great price we got for our party, the lovely room we had to ourselves, and the courtesy of the staff. In addition to our room, I have to say that the whole restaurant has such a great decor and feel. The food is always wonderful. One of my best friends has a birthday tradition - every year, her mom orders her a lasagna for dinner from Linos, and I come to dinner to share it. Although she has her own child now, her mom still orders it every year. I love Linos!
PROS: staff, beauty, food, prices

I have only visited Shogun once........but I was very impressed with my experience. The staff worked hard to make sure I was taken care of. I went to shogun as an alternative to JMK Nippon's. I think that Shogun is a good competitor to JMK. So if you like one you will like the other.
The main reason I visited was to try their sushi. I sat down at the sushi bar and watch my food get prepared. I was very satisfied with the few rolls that I tried.
Overall a little expensive, but it's worth the money. If you like JMK Nippons check out Shogun.

I've been eating at Stockholm since it was on 20th St. and I was still in a booster seat!! Being able to watch them grow and change over the years has been a complete joy. Even with the change of ownership- Stockholm has kept it's warmth and charm. It boasts the best swedish pancakes in the world and the wait that sometimes accompanies a visit- is well worth it!!! They treat you with that old Swedish charm and the food they are serving is worth writing about!!!

This place is expensive but it's worth it once in a while because the food is so good. The dinner is always filling. You get soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, fried rice, and your choice of shrimp, chicken or steak. Also they have an extensive sushi menu prepared by real talented chefs.
