A gym is a gym is a gym. I don't find myself with a ton of extra time to go to a gym and work out. On the occasions that I do and that my 2 year old will actually go into child care, I go to World Gym. The equipment is up to date and the place is clean. They offer child care for their patrons and the staff is friendly. I generally workout in one of the fitness classes and have always enjoyed my instructors. They are knowledgeable and have always taken time to answer my questions and give me suggestions. Located about 5 minutes from my home, it is very convenient to get to. It is located on a major street and just off of the freeway and is priced competitively.

Then you have got to try Black Rock Pizza in Sparks, NV. I was skeptical the first time I was in but was sold after my first bite. They offer 29 signature combination pizzas and they are to die for. It is authentic, fresh made pizza. None of that premade, frozen dough here. The sauces are wonderful and these pizzas are cooked to perfection. Not only can you get yummy pizzas here for around $16 but you can tempt your tastebuds with some excellent salad and wings. I am a plain cheese girl myself but you may want to be adventurous and try a Black Rock Shrimp pizza or a Red Headed Stranger which has prosciutto, black olives, sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed no matter what you get. I never have been.

As far as cable or satellite companies go, they all seem pretty much the same to me. You will find some people that will swear by one company over another but I feel like they are, for the most part, pretty equal until you have a problem. I have been with Dish Network for just over a year now and their service is fine. It gets a bit grainy or will go out occasionally if there is bad weather but overall, it's fine. I had to call the customer service today because my picture wouldn't show up at all and after getting past the initial really stupid questions, my service person was really nice and helpful. I thought for sure I was going to cancel after the first 5 stupid questions but after getting me calmed down and starting to ask the right questions I was quite pleased with how things were handled. As far as cable or satellite companies go, I'd recommend Dish at least equally as much as any other.

My dh and I just visited this quaint little Italian restaurant the other night and it was YUMMY! Tucked neatly out of the way near the corner of Moana and Lakeside in Reno, Zozo's Ristorante is a buried treasure. Upon first glance you may think that this is nothing more than a slightly crowded hole in the wall. Upon further investigation and definitely about sampling the fare, you find out your initial impression would have been wrong. I had their cheese tortellini which was prepared in a roasted pepper puree and topped with gorgonzola cheese, walnuts and green onions. Very tasty. My hubby had an ample sized serving of the chicken parmiagiana. That was one large chicken breast. Most of the dishes range in price between $12 and $18 and you can undoubtedly take home more than half of the dish for leftovers. This restaurant serves one of the best tasting strawberry lemonades I have ever had as well. The next time you get a craving for Italian, I highly recommend Zozo's.

After having banked with a large, impersonal bank for many years, I made the switch to Nevada State Bank and am very happy. It's nice to visit a branch and have the people working there know who I am. They are friendly and willing to help and they do it with a smile. I feel confident that my money is safe and that they can help me learn about and purchase new products if I need to. Whenever I go through the drive-up window, it's the same person 99% of the time and she knows who my children are and always asks if they want a sucker. She generally whispers this so as not to start a ruckus if the answer is no. I appreciate the attention to detail and I enjoy visiting my "friends" at the bank on a daily basis. You can find out more about Nevada State Bank at www.nsbank.com

Okay, generally I enjoy Mervyn's, but shopping there with young children can be a nightmare. There is simply no room to maneuver around that place while using one of their store-provided strollers. It is even worse at this time of year when every nook and cranny seems to be jam packed with racks and shelves. I had a difficult time locating an employee when it was time to check out and then the employee left the sensor on my purchase. The odd thing about this was that the sensor didn't set off the alarm upon my leaving so I didn't discover the sensor until I arrived home. Of course, at this point, I had to make an extra trip back to the store to have the sensor removed. This will not stop me from going back, but next time I will likely be going sans kiddies. I just returned from my first and definitely NOT last visit at a little place called Celebrations! in Sparks, NV. How much fun was this? I took my toddler with me to play and he was completely engaged for nearly 2 hours. Celebrations is a children's party place. It is a huge play room filled with fun, unique, imaginative and age appropriate toys and structures. Kids get to play with all the climbing and make-believe toys they want for only $7 for as long as you want (within the operating hours of course). There is a castle and a kitchen and a huge tent and dress up clothes. Possibly the best part of the whole deal is that you don't have to clean up. The people at Celebrations cleans it all up for you. You can also have a party there. I'm considering that for the next birthday. What fun!

I love my hair dresser. Okay, outside of the fact that most of you know she's my friend and I get a super duper friend price, she does an awesome job! My old hair dresser was great too but he was never on time and only did hair 3 days a week between 1 and 5. Talk about hard to get into. She is very progressive and knows all the latest techniques. She makes you feel completely comfortable and is goddess of hair styling. She always looks adorable so I think you tend to feel more comfortable going to her. I don't think I'd ever get my hair done by someone whose hair I thought was hideous. Come on, if you are a hair dresser, you have to sell yourself and having good hair just goes with the territory. She's funky, well-priced and talented. The girl has it all. If you are in the Reno area, check her out. She's at Rumors Hair Salon on Kietzke Lane. Here's a http://www.rumorssalon.com/contact.html to their site. Have a good hair day!
