A couple of months ago we were invited to Harvey's Comedy Club with a friend. She was invited to a show with free tickets. I haven't sat in one spot for so long and laughed so hard! The comedians were great. If you fill out the information card on the tables, they will call and invite you to a free show. Surprisingly the food is pretty good. So if you make it to a dinner show, save your appetite. The salads and entrées are worth it. Service is extremely slow. So be prepared to wait at least 45 after you've ordered for your food. But this place is usually packed so it's understandable. We have gone 5 times the last couple of months, and all of the comedians have been worth going to see.

M&M World on the strip is a must stop during your Vegas trip. There is 3 or 4 floors of nothing buy M&M memorbillia, furniture, toys, games, trinkets, and they even have a movie theater. There is fun for all ages, and surely something for everyone to buy. You can even buy and mix your own color combo of M&M's. It's a fun stop for me, because I collect M&M items for my daughter who is nicknamed M&M.

You lucky duck! I was excited about $2.65 a gallon at Safeway with the .10 off deal they have right now. With a club card, for every $50 spent in the store (I swear I can never get out of there with spending less), you earn .10 off of the posted gas price. Normally this promotion is worth .06 off per gallon. Without the promotion, and with just a club card gas is .03 off per gallon. They don't jack up the prices either with the discount, so this is where I always get my gas. And unlike some of the other stations in the area, they don't charge .45 just to use my debit card.
--Rumor is prices are going down in support of Republicans through elections.

I always take one of my kids with me when I go shopping or have to run errands. That way they each get a little bit of alone time with just mom. When we do, we always stop at this Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat. Dilly bars, blizzards, twist and dipped ice cream cones are always a hit. My favorite is/was the banana splits until I found out how many calories it was. The service is always quick, friendly and I feel the prices are a great buy.

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I tried McMenamins on the Vancouver waterfront. We had our choice of seating since it was about 10pm, so we choose to sit right on the waterfront, boardwalk and enjoy the warm summer night on the water. What a romantic evening! The menu is limited as far as other restaurants go, but they are famous for their beers here in the northwest. I had the ruben which was tasty, with a great local beer. Overall we had a great time. Our waitress was extremely slow especially since it wasn't busy. I waited over 30 minutes after I asked for a second beer.
Check out this view!

Veterans Industries business cards are the cheapest in town! And what a great cause. Veterans Industries is a self-sustaining program that offers community engagement and vocational rehabilitation because profit is not their motive.
Their business card program offers one or two sided cards with a variety of color cardstock and ink available. Bring your logo and they can customize your card to match your business. Prices are better than I've found anywhere else in the community. 1000 cards with color ink is only $32. The cards are made by a disabled veteran so you are hiring a vet.
This program as well offers a employment service with rates on average 40% less then other employment services. This is because again their goal is only to support a veteran in his/her vocational goals. The benefits are endless. If you are looking for business cards, or a temporary or temp - to - hire employee... HIRE a VET!

Out of 8 painting companies called out of the yellow pages, only one returned our call, and that was a week and a half after we called.
We turned to Angie's List and found C&B Painting. Brian and Carol were quick to respond, very friendly, and helped us quickly put our house on the market with a new paint job. This is a busy house painting season, and were thrilled they could accommodate our request for expedite service.
They did an excellent job of preparation, sanding, caulking, and power washing before the painting. We are thrilled with how our home turned out.

We have tried to patron Applebee's in Vancouver on a couple of occasions, and the service was always terrible! This Applebee's is quite a distance from my house, but the kids were hungry and wanted to eat right then and there. We were pleasantly surprised this restaurant had it's act together, unlike the other we had tried. The food was good, hot, and hey they even got the order correct. (a previous complaint). We might try it again, if we are in this neighborhood.

We just got back from a week long Disney trip, a first for all of us. The trip was designed for my kids, but my hubby and I, and my older kids 10 and 12 were bored. Not one ride, really excited me. And I LOVE amusement rides. We noticed that they speed the rides up in the afternoon, so fast you couldn't even take in what was going on. We found this out because during our early entry we re-rode some of the rides from other days and they were going so much slower.
I was Ticked our last night there. Got into a fight with a gal who worked the gate, she tried to lecture me because we hadn't signed our tickets. Ummm hello, it was the 5th day and our last trip into the park to see the fireworks and she was treating me like a little kid. Not one other person all week had told us we were supposed to sign them. Then we got the kids the mouse ears hats. They didn't have anyone to embrodier thier names on them, even though they offer it for free. The only person who knew how to use the machine was gone! Lines were long, and not enough characters were out to interact with the kids. The one day we had early entry, was the one and only day we saw Mickey Mouse. We tried to get in line, but then a disney worker told us he wasn't going to see anyone else, but we could return at 9am to see him. UM freaking hello, what the heck was the point of having early entry then, if we had to wait in line with everyone else to see him. Another day my daughter saw Woody from toy story and ran up to give him a hug. She's 4, and another disney worker pushed her away and said she had to get into line. Crushed her, she didn't know what standing in line meant to give someone she adored a hug. Where is the magic for the little kids if they can't show the affection for the characters they love. Never saw any princess characters in the park, good thing we made dinner reservations with them. Which was awesome by the way. Restaurants that we wished to patron were closed, as was Pirates of the Carrabian. Space Mountain was down for one of the days we were there. Compared to Six Flags Amusement parks, and even Kings Dominion, this place sucked!
Most of our fun was at the California Adventure Park.

The enchanted forest is fun for the little ones. My little girls love everything that the enchanted forest has to offer, except the haunted house, which is really a house, and pretty darned haunted, unlike carnival haunted houses it will surely offer a scare.
Enchanted offers a fairytales brought to life, western town, indian caves, and more. In the summer there is plays that are fun to sit and watch. Come see the wicked witches house from snow white, walk through the crooked old man's house, and crawl through the Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole. Next to the Enchanted forest there is a cool water park, if you plan to go in the summer months bring a swimsuit and check out the park next door.
