I visited this day spa today for the first time. I received a gift for a pre-natal massage for Christmas and took advantage of it at 35 weeks pregnant. I am very impressed with this place! First of all, the place is just completely relaxing from the moment you walk in the lobby. The spa is impeccably clean, and every room I looked into looked very inviting (I had to force myself not to dive into a pedicure chair). My massage therapist was exactly on time, encouraged me to use the restroom before we began (always a good idea for a pregnant woman), and took a lot of time and care to be sure that I was perfectly comfortable on the table and in the pregnancy pillow contraption before she started. The hour-long massage was absolutely perfect in every way, and I couldn't be more pleased. She focused on exactly the areas I told her were giving the most difficulty and also had a great ability to find places that needed massaging that I didn't even recognize. This massage at Blue River Canyon Day Spa was well worth the $70 - I would have expected to pay at least $100 for this type of place, especially in Brentwood. I will definitely return!

As chain bagel places go, this one is pretty darn good. They have a wide variety of bagels, and they are always fresh. Chances are, your favorite will be hot out of the oven on a busy morning...

Chances are, your favorite will be hot out of the oven on a busy morning during rush hour. They also have a nice variety of flavors of cream cheese, and they have good coffee and even hot tea selections too (better than most bagel chains). The line is often long but typically moves quickly without many errors. The people who work there, however, leave quite a bit to be desired. There is one woman who works there and is, I believe, the manager who has the worst personality. I dread seeing her when I go in, because she makes me feel anxious, as she is constantly barking at the other people who work there.

Of course TGI Fridays is a chain that can be found pretty much anywhere, but I have noticed that different locations often have very different "feels" to them. This is one of the better locations I have visited. At lunchtime, it is rarely ever crowded. When my husband and I went to catch a quick bite before going to the movies on a weekend during the holidays, we were able to get a seat at the bar immediately. Surprisingly, the service there at the was wonderful. The food was very hot, fresh, and delicious. The bar was busy but not filled with smoke. Their new menu options have improved their offerings.

Flemings Steak House is a great choice in the West End/Vanderbilt area. Very nice atmosphere for a nice dinner out. Steaks always done perfectly to specification. Side orders are delicious. Service has always been impeccable. Most recently, we enjoyed the creme brulee for dessert, and it was the best I have ever had (and I'm a big creme brulee conoisseur). They also have an extensive wine list at reasonable prices. Slightly less expensive than going across the street to Ruth's Chris, and it is easier to get reservations.

Cozymel's is a great southwestern grill. Not the most authentic Mexican restaurant, but perfect if you like Americanized Mexican food. Nice atmosphere, the tortilla chips are usually fresh and hot. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the salmon specials they have had the last two times we have visited. I usually stick with flautas or chimichangas and have never been disappointed. The last two times I have visited, however, the service has been dreadful. I never got a refill of my water, and we had to flag down our waiter just to get our bill. When we got it, it was put on our table without so much as a thank you or any question of whether our food was good.

This is a fun choice for lunch or dinner. Okay, it definitely isn't the most authentic Mexican food in the world, but hey, it is Franklin, so what do you expect. Definitely don't pass up getting a cup of the white cheese dip and chips. In fact, if you're not starving, just order that! Their burritos, tacos, and quesadillas are very good, and the service is super-fast. Much better quality than you will find at Baja Fresh, wish similar or maybe cheaper prices. Cute atmosphere too.

This store is wonderful! It is very similar to Sephora, so you if you are a makeup, beauty product, hair product, or bath and body junkie, you will love it. They carry a wide variety of products, including Bumble & Bumble, Tarte, Cargo, Smashbox, Philosophy, Bare Escentuals, Mustela, etc. Their customer service is better than you typically get at Sephora, and they follow standard pricing guidelines for the lines they carry. They also have a cafe, but I have never tried it. Very cute store, very friendly people.

This theater is definitely my pick of places to see a movie in the Nashville area. It is so much better than going to the huge casino-like mammoth on Armory Drive. The clientele is not at all rowdy and noisy. The theaters are generally clean. They get all the same new releases as the bigger theater. Their prices are comparable. Their seats are very comfortable and all the seats in the theaters are consistently good. Having The Derby as a cappuchino/ice cream refreshment option is a nice bonus.

This is a great option in Franklin when you are in kind of a hurry but don't want to go with the typical sandwich place or fast food. Their prices are comparable to what you would find in a sit-down chain restaurant, so more expensive than most quick food, but the quality and variety is also much higher. I love their homemade pizzas. Delicious cheese, fresh basil, always wonderful. My husband thinks their clam chowder is some of the best he has had outside of a really fancy restaurant.

This is one of my favorite nicer non-chain restaurants in the Nashville area. The service is always great, and even on weekend evenings, you often can get immediate seating (the sign in the window telling you is also a nice touch). They have delicious french onion soup, and every salad I have gotten there has been perfectly crisp and fresh. The filet mignon is fabulous - very tender, perfectly cooked to specification, and seasoned deliciously. My husband has enjoyed every one of the seafood dishes he has tried. They also have delicious bread served with every meal. Their prices are quite reasonable for the type of atmosphere and quality of food.
