Tumbleston Photography photographed my wedding this past Nov. 2008, and Amy and Corey were my photographers. They captured every detail and all the amazing moments that happened that night. I can't thank them enough and would highly recommend them to anyone. Even though I had a limited budget, Tumbleston's was able to wok with me and using them was the best decision of all my wedding vendors. My photo's were online to view in less than two weeks after the wedding and they took over 1500 images. They are all amazing and now the hard part is for me to pick the ones I want in my album.

I have been to Charleston, SC twice in the past 3 years, and both times we have had lunch at Hyman’s Seafood. Some locals seem to think of this as a “tourist trap” because it can be difficult to get in without a wait. We always arrive early and have never had to wait for a table. Hyman’s specializes in fresh, local seafood and we haven’t been disappointed. They bring boiled peanuts (which I love) to your table. We have always started our meal with the fish spread and crackers. I have always had the Napoleon appetizer as my lunch. It is three layers of fried green tomatoes, crab dip and fried shrimp with a delicious remoulade sauce. My husband loves the shrimp po-boy sandwich. They have a large variety of food on the menu and prices are reasonable.

Service was fantastic. Waitress was very friendly & chatted with us and my niece. Our food came timely and was delicious. My niece, who is picky, even ate all of her dinner and was ready for ice cream! We all really enjoyed the restaurant. We were sat in a busy area, but given the delicious food, didn't even care! First time I had eaten at this restaurant, and I am looking forward to eating there again!
Pros: Great service, great food.
Cons: None.

We just returned from a vacation that included a few days in beautiful Charleston, SC. One of my favorite meals was in this great little place called the Hominy Grill. I had read that they had wonderful breakfasts-so, we skipped the free breakfast at the hotel and gave it a try. I had a 3 mushroom-goat cheese omelet that was to die for, complete with potatoes and the best coffee I had the entire trip. My husband opted for the traditional bacon, eggs breakfast-and loved it as well. The place is simple, with some outside dining-but, the menu is somewhat gourmet. The prices are very fair for what you get. They are open for lunch and dinner as well. Check it out!

My husband, 3 year old daughter, and 1 year old daughter ate at Hyman's for the first time today after 7 years of visiting Charleston annually.
We've been missing out!
First of all- we had read about the lines and Hyman's own website advises to come early or late to avoid the wait :) We arrived at quarter to 11 for lunch mid-week and there wasn't a soul waiting. We took the time to look through the General Store (nothing particularly special there- but a good way to pass the time and entertain the kids). The woman working in the General Store was sociable and helpful.
As soon as the restaurant opened we were immediately seated in a great location and even given a convenient place to store our 2 seat stroller.
We had our coupon for our free crab dip- the dip was small, but hey- it was free! The waitress was very helpful and quick to respond to our needs. We asked for extra crackers for our baby to snack on and the waitress quickly brought us some. My drink was 3/4 empty and the waitress replaced it.
I had fried oysters, mahi-mahi with light cajun seasoning, and calamari with cajun mayo. My husband had buffalo shrimp, mahi-mahi with cajun seasoning, and crab cakes. We both thought everything was superb. The kids had a PB&J and a grilled cheese and both had macaroni and cheese for their sides. The mac & cheese was homemade just like my mom used to make- I ate most of my 1 year old's because it was so good!!! They both seemed to like their meals and they were quite large considering the very moderate price for what kid's meals go for these days.
Eli Hyman took the time to come by our table to thank us for coming in and make sure everything was to our liking.
Later he sought out my 3 year old to give her a coupon for a free ice-cream from the general store (and a second one for the baby).
Bottom line- food was fabulous, customer service was fabulous, we were treated just like the VIPs who have been there before us. We'll be back!
Pros: food, service, personal attention
Cons: Tables are particularly small- gets crowded with dishes and hard if you have a baby/toddler who is still grabby

Hominy Grill has it all... great food, great atmosphere, great prices and a friendly staff. HG is off the beaten path which makes it feel more "small town" than tourist attraction like restaurants on Market/King/Broad. The food is an excellent, the banana /pumpkin bread is delicious and the biscuits and gravy was a nice departure from the normal. The coffee was better than you get at Starbucks and had a nice bold, rich flavor. Not normally a grits fan...I ate them without adding a single thing and I didn’t leave a single hominy in the cup! The staff was also friendly and completed the total dining experience. All this for the same/less than you would pay at an IHOP or Cracker Barrel. When I think of Charleston breakfast, Hominy Grill is the first on my list!
Pros: Perfect Southern Breakfast
Cons: None

Peninsula Grill at Planters Inn is located at 112 North Market Street in Charleston, South Carolina. It has been reviewed by professionals and consistently gets a 4-star rating. Four stars are only because no one is perfect all the time. I love it a lot. My family and I have eaten there several times, and we just can't get enough. Surrounded by velvet walls, black-iron chandeliers, and 18th-century-style portraits, diners at this busy restaurant can dine on many items, all served to perfection. The lobster is very good, but I got grilled rabbit the last time I was there. (Yes, it tasted like chicken. LOL). You may go here http://www.peninsulagrill.com/ more information for this restaurant.
