Located on Grand Ave., Creative Kidstuff offers a diverse selection of toys, games, art supplies, music, etc. that spark a child's creativity and imagination. This is the most original and innovative toy store I have been to. The atmosphere is colorful and fun. The staff is very friendly. The store has won numerous "Best Toy Store" awards. It is an excellent place to buy presents, and gift wrapping services are available.

The Minnesota Children's Museum is a five-story indoor playground featuring dozens of activities and hands-on exhibits that allow kids to learn through play. Climbing a tree fort, crawling through a giant anthill, creating music and operating a crane are among the many adventures kids can experience. There is an area designed especially for infants and toddlers. Everything is fun and colorful, and a great place for kids to engage in creative expression. The building is large and spacious, allowing room to accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. A snack area is available, as well as a large parking ramp.

Como Zoo is home to various exotic animals and wildlife including giraffes, polar bears, zebras, tigers, seals, timber wolves and gorillas (just to name a few). The living conditions are very decent. The famous "Sparky the Sea Lion Show" is still a crowd-pleaser. Concession stands are located throughout the grounds. There is a visitor center that includes a gift shop, restrooms, pay phones, first aid, etc. Large crowds and difficulty finding a place to park are the only setbacks. Admission is absolutely free. Although the zoo has changed quite a bit since I was a child, it continues to be a local favorite. People of all ages will enjoy it!

Formerly known as the Como Park Conservatory, the newly revamped Marjorie McNeely Conservatory does a wonderful job of preserving and displaying exotic plant life. The atmosphere is very elegant, yet warm (literally) and inviting. Throughout the North and Sunken Gardens and the Palm Dome, various collections of palms, orchids, ferns, bonsais and much more are on display. Flower shows are hosted every season. There is a visitor center, as well as a gift shop. The conservatory is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Admission is only $1 for adults ($0.50 for seniors and kids 6-12, free for kids 5 and under). This is a gorgeous facility and a place the whole family can enjoy.

My mom has been banking with Twin Cities Federal (TCF) for years and recommended that I do so as well. I took her advice and started a checking account. It is simple and absolutely free. Other available services are savings, loans and credit, insurance, investing, convenience banking (check card, ATM machines, supermarket banking, etc.), and online banking. The customer service is friendly. They are very understanding when it comes to overdraft fees and are usually willing to let it go. I would recommend TCF.

Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, the Target Center hosts various concerts and sporting events, as well as other entertainment events. Home to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the facility is spacious, yet not overwhelmingly huge. The lobby is attractive and makes waiting in line for concert tickets more interesting. It is pretty easy to navigate the arena and find your seats. Even the nosebleed sections are not that bad. There are various concession stands located throughout the venue. Refreshments are pricey, so I only buy them as a last resort. The lines to get into the restrooms are also a pain. Other than that, I always enjoy my concert experiences here.

I was excited to find out a Sephora store was opening in the Mall of America and couldn't wait to check it out. The store carries dozens of brands that make the finest designer cosmetics, skin care, fragrances, and more. Everything is displayed neatly and all the products are available for sampling. The employees are very friendly and resourceful. The atmosphere is bright and open. High prices are the stores only setback. Great atmosphere, great products and great customer service: I highly recommend Sephora!

The museum allows you to explore various hands-on exhibits, displays and presentations involving natural history, technology and the sciences. The environment is fun and interactive, and a place people of all ages can learn from and enjoy. One of the nations largest dinosaur exhibits, the Omnitheater, a conservation center, the Bloodstream Superhighway and a virtual boat ride down the Mississippi River are among the dozens of attractions the Science Museum of Minnesota has to offer.

Noodles & Company, obviously, offers a wide variety of noodle dishes. Some are traditional and others are inspired by dishes served in other countries. There is also a selection of non-noodle dishes including salads, grilled chicken breast, fresh vegetables and more. The restaurant's environment is pretty casual. I like how the service works. You come in and order at the counter, get seated, then wait for your food to come to you.
