I went here over the weekend after not having been to Castle Island in about a decade and it is even better than I remember!!! The BEST hotdogs ever; the steamed skin-on ones that crack in your mouth. Wow, that kind of sounds gross, but I promise you it's not. Great prices, pretty cheap food that tastes so yummy on a chilly or warm day with the seabreeze. Grab some crunchy hot fries and a drink and take a walk out to the sugarbowl; this is what being from Boston is all about!
(Also, heads up. My dad informed me that there is something in August or September where the hotdogs are only 69 cents. Oh lord, I will dream about this until it happens. I will eat twenty hotdogs. I am so excited.)

Yummy (and that should probably with a capital everything) and affordable (pastries are large and about a dollar each), this little gem is located in the confusingly loud part of allston, on brighton ave. Well. You may have to do the parky/run-inny/get foody/hop into car circling the blocky thing, but it is worth it! I never leave with less than ten dollars worth of food-- scallion buns, angel sweet butter cheesy buns, FABULOUS coconut buns, cakes, cookies, loaves of fresh baked bread and.. my favorite of all.. this bun thing with a huge piece of chocolate in the middle! Accompany it with a large thai iced tea from Infusions next door and I would gladly trade my entire family and my savings. Love!

Whether you kneel on the floor or sit at a quaint little table near the windows, you will surely enjoy some sushi and sake at this restaurant. Extremely friendly waitstaff that goes out of their way to make you comfortable, super clean surroundings, soft-lighting, and plenty of food left over to take home? Count me in. There are, unfortunately, not enough good sushi places in the area. But this? This is definitely one of them.

I thought the drinks were a little on the sugary side. Not salty enough, even though I asked for like, extra salt. But the empanadas? OH MY SWEET LORD. Heaven on a plate. Amazing selection of yummy appetizers and each selection is equally delicious. To be fair, I have not eaten there in a few years, but I seem to remember the neverending warm tortilla chips and salsa while you wait. yay. The long line and wait time to get a table is worth it if you're in the mood for some good mexican food. mmm!

This is possibly the worst place I have ever eaten. Let me explain in brief why you should not even bother giving them your patronage ...
I went with a bunch of friends the Friday night before Christmas. This was not our first choice; every other Chinese restaurant in the area was booked solid-- and rightfully so. We should have known then, why this place was not. As a matter of fact, we were the only party in the restaurant. On a Friday night. At 7pm. Go figure.
We proceeded to order food and drinks. "Scorpion bowls" are of course, the staple of Chinese food restaurants around here. This place? They actually "shut us off" after we had each only had one drink (specifically, one watered-down scorpion bowl per two people)! It was strange, such a big tab they could have gotten. And I know what you must be thinking.. but no one in my party was drunk/disorderly/loud/etc. A VERY rude women came over to our table after we ordered our second round and began asking all of us how many drinks we had and then... told us they only had 6 scorpion bowl cups and she would have to wash them out if we wanted more. OK??? You are a restaurant big enough to handle a few hundred and you have 6 cups? Are we in the same place?
It doesn't stop there. She continued to grill us like we were teenagers using fake id's (everyone was over 25) and when they gave us the check, they stood there and waited for us to sort out the money. All this while speaking in a foreign language and pointing at us and laughing. When we gave them the money, they wouldn't let us leave until they counted it, IN FRONT OF US.
Dear East Manor,
Do you not want customers?? Good job. I will not be coming back.
Love, Katie

There's never anywhere to park in the North End anymore. But don't let that stop you from missing out on some of the best pizza in the neighborhood. Order a bbq chicken ranch or a spinach garlic pizza over the phone, hop into the car with a friend or two and drive on over. Have one person hop out and run in to grab the pizza while the other circles the block. Ernesto's will have you in and out before they even get halfway back. Super quick service and delicious variety. Amazingly fluffy crust, almost worth ignoring the rest of the pizza for.
I guess you could also take the T and walk there. That might work too.

A little out of the way if you don't live in the area of East Boston or Revere, but very good stuff. Super quick and not at all greasy or generic, the way most delivery places tend to be around here. The greek salad is full of feta and olives without even asking for extra !!! Pizza is great too, the mushroom being my favorite. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

These people? They make their own bread and it is so soft and fresh and yummy. All the subs I order are from them. They have a honey bbq chicken and a meatball that are to die for. AND THE GARLIC KNOTS! Worth getting at least once, even if you're watching your weight (I won't tell). The only thing I didn't like from this restaurant was the pizza. Very similar to Ellio's and not nice sauce.

I don't really get why this place is always SO CROWDED. The food is good, I'll give them that. The waitresses are sweet and it's normally a great experience once you sit down and order. But the time you have to wait to get a table? Not once have I ever had a wait time less than an hour and a half, even when I've called ahead! If you're tummy is rumbling a little, take a chance. But if you're starving, you're better off getting takeout.

This restaurant is changing the idea that all Chinese take-out must be greasy and full of fat. Located right on Route 16, this establishment combines light consistency with traditional flavor, almost effortlessly. The chicken fingers are crisp and juicy, rather than the average bland, doughy mess you normally have to search through to find any meat remnants. Fried rice and noodles are the freshest you can get. The pork is never dry and always packed full of spicy yumminess. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating and the cutesy dragon décor and non-alcoholic drinks full of fruit and umbrellas make it my only choice for Chinese food in the area. I highly recommend the spicy garlic & mushroom green beans. Just make sure to get extra bread and water!
