My friends and I came here right before the lunch rush.
My friends liked their food, but my bread was stale and my Pepsi was flat. Then at the end of the meal we got our check, and one person needed change, so we asked the waiter for our change. He asked us "How much change do you want" which threw us off, and we asked for all of our change. He went away, then came back and asked again "What change did we want". We told him again to just bring us our change (all of it). As he walked away, the manager walked over and told us he really needed the table so we needed to leave. We told him we had been waiting for our waiter to bring us our change.
We had not been there a long time - just enough to be served (service was slow) and eat. It was the rudest experience I've ever had in a restaurant and I would never eat there again (the food sucked too), and I know my friends wouldn't either.

The Counter has the best hamburgers in California, hands down. The only way they could improve would to have slightly better buns (like at the Peninsula Creamery) but otherwise their hamburgers are amazing! They have turkey, beef and veggie options, and you can even get a "hamburger in a bowl" where you get a hamburger/salad/toppings with no bun.
You choose everything going into your hamburger, including patty type, toppings (3 of the onion, lettuce, olive, etc. type are included), cheese (1 cheese is included) extra toppings (like bacon, etc.) and type of bun.
They also have interesting sides like sweet potato fries, crispy fried onions and shoestring fries that you can get separately or mixed.
They have a few other sandwiches, kids meals, and shakes/brownies/cookies as dessert. The service is a bit spotty but the hamburger makes it worth going to.

The first thing I thought about this restaurant is that it's easy to see from the freeway, but kind of a pain to get to. Then there is pretty much only valet parking, which I hate. Luckily I was able to find street parking around the corner.
The bread is pretty good, and they were having a 50% off sale on bottles of wine.
I ordered the hanger steak which was pieces of steak marinated in red wine sauce, with a very rich mashed potatoes and grilled squashes. The steak was good, but I didn't like the potatoes too much or the vegetables.
I was very impressed that they didn't have the quintessential "chocolate lava cake" for dessert, but their chocolate cake wasn't that exciting anyway. It was a single serving size of chocolate cake with mousse on the top, and an orange flavor topping. The cappuccino was delicious, however, and comes with a free biscotti!

I tried their Top Sirloin steak which was also really good. It comes with delicious mashed potatoes and onion "frites". So good!
We did get a collection of their desserts, including key lime pie, sorbet and chocolate lava cake, and they were okay, but nothing to write home about.
The location is a bit hard to get to in the dark especially, but the food and service is excellent.

I've been interested in trying new places since starting at JB, so I decided to try this new manicure place. Unfortunately I brought my mom, who is used to getting manicures, and knows how much they cost. She is still talking about how expensive this place was - it was $18 for just a manicure. The place is set up to be like a spa, but they only do manicures and pedicures, no waxing or anything else. It was an interesting manicure, but I wouldn't go back because of the price and it didn't actually last that long.

I had been here once before and had a bad memory of the calzone I had so I hadn't wanted to go back, but my mom's night out was there, so I decided to try it again. I ordered the pork medallion which looked gross, but tasted pretty good (I tend to like food that is not smothered in sauce, and this was). For dessert I ordered their chocolate brownie with caramel sauce and vanilla bean gelato and it was amazing! I wish I had just had that, it was so good and I couldn't finish it! I was also impressed that they actually refilled our coffee at the end, which rarely happens. I would go back, but probably just have a salad and dessert.

I had a friend who raved about their foundation - she told me it kept her face clear, so I had to try it. I didn't notice that about it, but I did like the foundation. It's a powder that goes on and covers very nicely. You buy the "sable" brush from them, the foundation and the powder that has a snazzy name that I can't remember. The foundation was expensive but it lasted for almost exactly a year. The powder lasted longer, I think. I don't really know why I stopped buying it, probably the cost, but I did like their makeup.

I was unimpressed with this hotel. It looks nice from the outside and is a pretty good location now that Target has groceries (but nothing is open within walking distance for breakfast except Starbucks), but it was a bad experience overall. Many hotels these days have free breakfasts, but here you pay $13 for what you can get free at other hotels. They do have a pretty good exercise room, but a tiny pool outside. The beds are horrible - they lean, and the pillows are bad as well. I wasn't convinced the refridgerator was cold enough to keep food in it for me either. I won't be staying here again.

We recently went to a birthday party that was hosted at Pump It Up, which contracts out with Avanti for their pizza. It was so good that I asked them what company they used! I would definitely go and try it out for myself since the pizza was good even after having been delivered and waiting around for the party to end. It has sort of middle sized crust and good toppings.

The first time I ate here, I had a hamburger and it wasn't good. The bun was dry and the beer battered fries weren't good as well. However, I heard the dessert was delicious, so I had to try it. Unfortunately I shared it, because it was delicious. Their signature dessert is basically a personal pizza sized pan cookie with ice cream on top. I had wanted to go back just to have the dessert.
I went back recently and since I was going to have the dessert I tried to have a light meal. Oh, and the first time we had gotten some free appetizers and I didn't like any of them. This time I tried the half potato (already 3 times the size of normal potato) with the bacon and cheese topper. It came with a half salad, which was good but the potato was amazing!
I finally ordered the dessert (with only one of the requisite two scoops of ice cream on top) and was disappointed. The cookie was overcooked and I didn't really even like the flavor this time.
So basically this restaurant is hit and miss. It is also always crowded and the wait staff is just okay.
