Pazo takes the concept of tapas, or little plates, to a lovely new height. Immediately on entering you catch the vibe of this hip, young and beautiful crowd - dress to impress! The two levels offer two distinct feels - downstairs is more see-and-be-seen, upstairs a bit more romantic and intimate, with a large room for private parties as well. The food is interesting and with the prices, you can easily fill up on several tapas for very little money. The wine list is well-thought-out and many choices are available by the glass.

Corks is the nicest restaurant in Federal Hill. I live in the neighborhood and I love bringing my parents here--- if they're paying. It's pretty pricey-- not sure if it's worth it. The wines are especially expensive--- it's hard to find a bottle under $50.
That being said, the food is great, the service is wonderful, and if you don't want to be driving in Federal Hill but need an impressive place to take someone, I would definitely recommend Corks over Bicycle.
The 3 times I've been, I found the appetizers and desserts to be the best part. Next time, I'm totally skipping the entre.

This place has only be open a short amount of time but already they have made the menu much more limited and worse in my opinion.
The good news-- the drinks are still great and it's a nice place to have a watermelon martini with a good friend or a place to stop by after/before dinner.
The place is beautifully designed and now there's even more space for the bar on the weekend (they move the dinner tables-- which is fine because dinner ain't worth it)

Why does everyone love this place so much?
It's perfectly OK and the bread is fantastic. But if you get stuck in the back room, the atmosphere is terrible and the tables are way too close together.
And the prices-- sheesh.
I think this is mostly the Emporer's new clothes. Because it's impossible to get a reservation on weekends, everyone thinks it's the place to be (it's not-- Pazo is) .
That being said, the food is good. And if you go on a non-weekend night, and don't order more than one glass of wine, it's worth going to.

You can talk to your friend for a hour here over a cup of coffee and feel perfectly comfortable.
Or, if you're starving, you can get an incredibly huge (and tasty) breakfast. It's the perfect place to meet people when you don't want to be drinking alcohol.
I've never had a bad breakfast there and I love the artsy-fartsy atmosphere--- a little like Berkeley California. Except the prices are much better.

A friend and I went to Nacho Mama's after hearing the rave reviews. We left wondering if we had been to the wrong place. Nacho Mama's has a groovy atmosphere, but the food is mediocre at best and the "famous" margaritas are not very good at all (we had to get roaring drunk before we could drink them without making faces). There are much better Mexican restaurants in town.

This is a funky little restaurant and bar in Canton. It's a little hard to find and parking in the neighborhood can be scarce. But don't let that scare you. YOU MUST GO! This is definitely the best kept secret in Baltimore. Everything is chef-prepared by the owner/chef. I have never had a bad meal here and can recommend everything on the menu. Custom-spiced butters! Grilled veggies on a chilled salad! Unique varieties of fries (pomme frites)! Linen! They have specials virtually every night of the week - check their website for current specials: www.birchesrestaurant.com. This is the restaurant I most miss from my years in Baltimore!

Do yourself a favor - have a meal at Cafe Zen. It's in the north part of Baltimore, near the Senator Theatre. Prices are reasonable and the food portions are very generous. It's a popular restaurant and occasionally there is a short wait for a table. The eggplant dishes are especially good.

We visited the Helmand after a friend recommended it because it offers a vegetarian menu. I loved it and can't wait to go back. The food is really inexpensive, and delicious. There were also plenty of options for me, the vegetarian, and for my hubby, the meat eater. Don't miss their pumpkin appetizer, it's worth going just for that! The atmosphere is nice, but the tables are strangely close together. Make a reservation!

Situated near to inner harbour gives them an additional point. This place is situated near to harbour place in downtown. The food was good and served very fast to us... but the samosas which we had was not fresh.
Didnt find lot of variety in foods. but it does attract people because of its location.
Food quality was pretty good and I prefered to have more varieties and options.
