Yoogo has a lot of interesting bubble tea flavors (Avocado, anyone?) and even more interesting gelato flavors. I saw beer and Bacardi, various candy bars, tiramisu! (which looked soo good) and loads of asian flavors such as sesame and sticky rice and ginger. I had a really tough time deciding what to get, but I finally settled on the "yogurt" flavor, which is actually made from this little Asian drink that comes in tiny plastic bottles. It tasted just like it! Prices are reasonable -- about $3 for the bubble tea or gelato. Check it out!

Yay for bowling. I'm terrible at it normally, but at the Yerba Buena bowling alley, I seemed to have gotten worse. The prices are reasonable -- $20 per hour or $3.50 per game most days. You also have to rent shoes. The place was pretty empty when I went, but it was a Sunday. Maybe they're busier on other days? The service is perfunctory and quick. There's a restaurant built in that serves hamburgers and hot dogs and the like. Conveniently located next to the Metreon and ice skating!

I visited San Francisco on vacation and stopped by the Metreon. It was interesting -- arcade, restaurants and movie theater combined into one. I'm not that interested in arcades but I can see why it would be appealing to others. The movie theater is huge and very, very nice. The Metreon building itself is very cool -- ultramodern and outfitted with neon lights and interactive displays.

This is my high school, so perhaps I'm a bit biased. On the flip side, who can tell you more about a school than someone who attended it? You definitely get a fantastic education at Stuy and tons of opportunities to challenge yourself with college-level classes. There are many, many student-run organizations that allow kids to develop leadership skills necessary in THE REAL WORLD!! The teachers are quite possibly the best in the entire city -- the relationship between the students and teachers is one of the utmost respect on both sides. It's amazing. It' s almost a utopia, but utopoas never exist. The biggest issue with Stuy is the level of competition faced by the students... but I still love it.

Macy's is reputed to be THE best department store ever built. I used to agree. Within the last few years though, I've realized that Macy's is wayyy to big and overwhelming to have a good shopping experience. It'll take you hours to buy a t-shirt. I prefer specialty shops and targeted stores like Forever 21 or Victoria's Secret. Macy's has everything, true, but that means it has infinite amounts of things I'm not interested in and it forces me to dig through this infinity to find what I do want. And that is a waste of time.

I've been to Astroland a few times... and I get so ripped off every time! I never learn. The rides are $2-4 each, but you can get a wristband for about $20, which allows you to go on unlimited rides (excluding bumper cars and the Cyclone). Still, it's hard to get $20 worth of rides out of Astroland. Food and drinks are very expensive. My advice would be to walk a few blocks away from the boardwalk and get good cheaaaap food at some Coney Island restaurant. Skip Astroland and hit the beach -- it's free and just as fun!

I love sushi! Omiya Sushi is conveniently located on 86th street in Bay Ridge -- near a lot of shopping and down the block from the R train. Their rolls cost only $2.50 each AND they taste good. It's usually pretty empty so you'll never have to wait long for service. I highly recommend trying the fried ice cream if you've never had it. It's heaven.

Chili cheese fries, hot dogs, hamburgers -- the works. All for a few dollars. What more can a poor, hungry student ask for? Mike's Papaya is tucked away in a small, seatless place with only a bar to rest your plate on. It's definitely not quality eating, but the chili cheese fries are SO good. Their 25 cent coffee isn't half bad either. Faster than fast food -- and cheaper!

The best thing about Burritoville is the unlimited free chips and salsa. The second best would probably be the burritos. The food is pretty good but I find that one order is much too large for me and costs a bit more than I'm willing to pay. Proportionally, it is an okay price -- but $8 for something I can only finish half of? Bad idea. I prefer Chipotle!
