Lettus Cafe 3352 Steiner and Chestnut
So this place is absolutely amazing to go eat at, whether vegetarian or not. I personally am NOT a vegetarian but was dating one, so was exposed to places that were not exactly my cup of tea.
This place is REALLY good if you are a vegetarian and if you are not! What I found the vegetarian options in the city to be are primarily very heavy, with lots of creamy sauces/pastas etc. This is a very healthy place for a vegetarian with lots of really good options, and for those of us who are not vegetarians the food is really good as well, so you won't mind the lack of meat at all! (none of that imitation stuff either!) For those non-vegetarian I am pretty sure you can still get some really good salads with chicken etc. All in all, a very healthy spot.
Lots of young people, and a cool, modern setup inside. On Steiner in the Marina, a pretty happening street!

Wants: To either sit down for a very nice meal or post-dinner at a really classy in a very swanky lounge/restaurant that is well-hidden from the crowds
Frisson; 244 Jackson and Battery St
This place is VERY NYC. It has a very nice restaurant for the main dining room and it's definitely very classy and expensive, but I would recommend going to this place for the lounge, that is darkened and located in the corner of the establishment.
The low couches and cushioned-seats are complemented by candlelight lighting only, while the music is absolutely stunning and perfect for a great romantic conversation. The drinks at this place are also great for women - there are many exotic flavors, most based on sugar (aka cosmo varieties), and tend to be strong as well (making this spot a great place to hang out after dinner and it being open till 2am a good venue to finish off the night)
The location of this place might confuse you - it is right next to the Embarcadero Center, across the street for the art galleries that tend to dominate the neighborhood and is in a very quiet place, which gives it that exact charm as to why I like going there.
Also, check out the bathroom downstairs - it's wicked, so will leave you wondering till you visit :)

Cha Cha Cha (Mission and 19th)
So, in my opinion this is probably one of the few spots in SF with good sangria, very comparable quality to that of Little Italy in NYC.
This is a really cool spot to go to with a bunch of buddies to hang out, eat tapas (not many people get their own plates, everyone does tapas and shares them!)
Probably not the best place for a date because it is JUST SO LOUD! but an ideal spot to hang out before going out partying on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. That Mission district is cool because it's a happening street and there is Medjeul right next door - which is an awesome place in itsellf!

My recommendation for a great neighborhood spot that is "typical San Francisco" would be The Bell Tower
1900 Polk and Jackson
Awesome spot with a great bar, food is served till very late and it's just an overly great kick-back kind of a place, especially on a Wednesday night. It's in a sleeping residential neighborhood, so there is nothing really around but if you are looking for that kind of thing to have a nice conversation or a beer or are craving some good burgers and fries in a very bar-ish environment, it's all you.
Not really a sports bar and not really a hot spot - just a chill bar with good food, more on the classier side; good outside seating with not too much foot traffic. Went there on WEdnesday and loved it!

So, if you guys like seafood and like being surrounded by all kinds of sea life in fish tanks and want to have a classy place to eat, Farallon it is.
Awesome spot - can get a little stuffy cause it's in the financial district (450 Post St & Powell) but very classy with a good crowd - the servers really take care of you and will even make special accomodations for a birthday.
Totally would recommend it for a classy place for seafood lovers.

Go there when it is really nice outside, especially for lunch. It's right there on Broadway, quiet place, lots of outdoor seating.
The menu has $9 lunch that includes soup, salad and 4 (!!!) choices of different rolls - and the FOOD IS QUALITY, the service is fast too!
Absolutely recommended! Let me know what you think

1. You are out with your buddies and want to hit up a happening bar
2. You are out with a friend you want to go get a coffee or a glass of wine to "shoot the sh*t"
3. You are out on a date with a classy girl and want to impress her
Here is scenario 3. Read other blogs for the other 2 scenarios.
So, it's 1am and you guys just got out of the bar and it's a little too late to go to another one and everything is slowly closing down. Where do you go to end the date on a good note?
Cigar Bar and Grill - 850 Mongtomery St and Pacific Av -
This bar is so chilled out and relaxed on a Tuesday night. You probably will not find many people there, which makes for an amazing night. If you both are up for smoking cigars, they have the best selection, ranging from $5 up to over $40 a cigar. I would recommend getting a glass of 1999 Port - a great drink to go with a cigar, albeit somewhat sweet. If it's a nice night, there is a garden courtyard with a fountain, a bunch of tables and, most importantly (esp in SF!) - heat lamps. What a great place to end the night to a good conversation or a dimly lit inside. The place does not close till 2am and will probably even stay you a little later!!! Great spot for a couple late at night but wouldn't recommend going there during the day - the crowd is too stuffy for my liking

So this is an awesome place in Little Italy that has LOTS of tables outside, so it's a perfect spot to sit, drink a coffee and eat some really good desert! The tiramisu is absolutely BOMB...they also have their wines at like $5 a glass and it is not bad at all. Also, a great people-watching place, esp. around 9-10pm as everyone is walking around! All-in-all, a good spot for a Tuesday casual night.
Stay tuned for 3

Here are a couple of recommendations for each scenario, respecitvely:
1. Blue Light - 1979 Union St and Buchnan St (Marina)
Last time I was there the place is PACKED - great crowd and pretty fun! You would normally walk around San Francsico and find a certain spot here and there that has something but nothing really too much. The bar is cool, the drinks are relatively cheap and there are pool tables in the back! Some cool specials such as $6 margarita pints are always a treat that can be super fun with a good crowd. If you are looking for a single gal/guy, this is actually a good spot for pickups since it attracts an early 20s young professionals crowd that mostly likely got home from work, changed and rolled out to get a drink!
