The staff were nice and friendly. The room was of an average size. There was a good selection for the continental breakfast and it was pretty delicious. I wish the hotel had a Jacuzzi. The hotel was clean but a little outdated. The pool was too shallow. The location of the hotel is convenient.

At first glance, the Sundowner does not look as fancy as some other places -- it isn't. But the price is far lower than most other hotels in Sunnyvale so I often choose to stay here anyway. The rooms are comfortable and functional, the high-speed internet works just fine, and they have a (small) breakfast buffet with a couple of hot items. So for what you pay it's an excellent value.

My friends and I reserved a penthouse suite for one evening at the Residence Inn. Checkin was easy, the staff was great. The penthouse suite was very nice- huge and spacious! Great for families! The hotel was nice and the grounds were lovely. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Sunnyvale for business- very close to everything!

I booked rooms at this hotel for our wedding and was pleased with the excellent service that we received from the start. The sales manager gave me an excellent rate on a suite for 2 nights. Our guests had no complaints.
3 things though- we had some special requests that didn't go as smoothly as we hoped. No big deal, but it still happened:
#1- After the first night, we had asked the bellboys to move my husbands belongings into the suite (we slept in separate rooms the night before the wedding). By the end of the night, his belongings were not there. We had to call the front desk and remind them to bring them up. They did, but they shouldn't have forgotten.
#2- my mother had arranged breakfast to be available in my suite as my bridal party got ready. They were supposed to bring the breakfast table up to the room by 7am, however it did not make it there til about 8am. We made a couple of phone calls to see what was going on, but their response was that it was on the way.
#3- we used the hotel limo to drive us to the ceremony site. The limo wasn't very clean- there was a shrimp tail on the floor (gross!). They should have vaccumed the car before using it that day.
Otherwise, the staff was fine, the rooms are gorgeous and very luxurious. The bathrooms are HUGE. And the price is right!

I thought that since this was a Sheraton Hotel it would be nice but I didn't find it up to any of my expectations. Although the room we got turned out to be quite large, it had vaulted ceilings, the paint in the room was very old making it look like the hotel staff doesnt' care about upkeeping it very well. Also when we first walked into the hotel it smelled like a wet animal and everytime we walked into the room it had that smell. Bathrooms were old as well. Only thing good was that they had a wide variety of bathroom ammenities. Not recommended.
