We went through the drive-thru of this local KFC the other day and wanted to order the variety bucket because that is the best way that all of us can get what we want, and how we want it.
On the menu board it clearly states for the options of the Variety Bucket; 4 pcs Chicken, Popcorn Chicken, Crispy Strips, Wings (any flavor), Boneless Wings & Honey BBQ Boneless Wings.
I should be able to chose ANY combination of the choices listed as options. This does not appear to be the case. I wanted to include the Popcorn Chicken, 8 Boneless wings, and 8 Honey BBQ boneless wings. ALL three of these items were listed separately on the menu board. I was told I could not order two boneless wings selections. I told them that these two items were listed separately as options to chose from. The person on the intercom apologized but insisted that this combination was not allowed.
If a combination is not allowed, don't list it as a choice. OR place a (readable) disclaimer stating so.
While this episode really irked me, we still enjoyed the chicken we got from KFC.
The service is fast and the prices reasonable.
I'm sure we will be back, but I will definitely have to remember this (undocumented) limitation of combination choices.

I recently went to BWW for supper. I'm used to going there for lunch and enjoy many of their lunch combos. But I was not used to their "non-lunch" menu. Everything is pretty much ala cart in the evenings it seems. And a little pricey too. For $7 I got 4 chicken strips and a soft drink. Everything else on the menu seems to have dinner prices with a la cart sizes.
But I do so LOVE their sauces... I got my chicken with the Hot sauce. Wow! I love it! It was right on that brink of being too hot for me. But a little extra to drink helped to sooth that.
If you are really bold (stupid?) you can always go with the Blazin' sauce. I did that once.... ONCE! Which is why I ordered Hot this time.
Overall, I would recommend BWW for lunches but not to expect a "meal" there at night. It's more of a bar that serves food, not a restaurant that serves alcohol.

When my family goes out to eat with my grandmother, a place that we frequently go to is Bob's Your Uncle at 2208 N Dodge St. Many years ago, this was a Howard Johnson's, Country Kitchen and a T.G.I. Friday's before becoming Bob's Your Uncle Eastside http://www.bobsyourunclepizzacafe.com/eaststory.htm , Their original location is on the 'Westside' http://www.bobsyourunclepizzacafe.com/weststory.htm at 749 Mormon Trek Blvd.
My daughters love (cheese) pizza. The first time we ordered pizza for each of them, we couldn't believe how BIG the slices were! Since then, we have the girls share a slice.
On our last trip to Bob's Eastside, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad (lunch portion). The salad consists of "Hot and spicy buffalo chicken over cool mixed greens with celery, pickles, tomato, green onions and your choice of dressing." I enjoyed the mix of flavors between the spicy chicken, Ranch dressing and pickles. And the portion size of the salad itself was quite large for a "lunch portion". My only disappointment with the salad was how little chicken there was on the salad. Only three strips of chicken were on the salad. If I'm going to have a chicken salad, I want CHICKEN on my salad.
They have their menus for both locations available for download too.

A peril of buying inexpensive shoes sometimes is that they will prematurely fail. This is what happened with my hiking boots I had purchased less than a year ago. The cuff (vinyl) had torn away from where the top eyelet is (leather). And every time I would lace up I was afraid that I would damage the boot even further. So I took the boot to Rogers' and he was able to do what he called a 'jump stitch' to repair the torn seam. And he did it inexpensively too.
He is located right behind Walgreen's and across from the Hy-Vee near Towncrest.
Rogers' does repair & sales of shoes, purses and zippers.

At work we have a 500GB My Book Essentials hard drive that was giving fits and taking 4 days to format. So I ran WDC's diagnostics on it. The results we were getting were inconsistent, yet convinced me that there was a failure.
So I went to the WDC web site http://www.wdc.com/ and submitted a request to their online support. To which I get this automated email response with web links and things to try which are of little help.
So I reply to the email, like it says I can, and re-describe the problems and error codes I was seeing.
It took 8 days and three messages from me before I got the response from WDC to submit an RMA for its exchange.
The RMA was submitted on the 7th and the status of our Advance Exchange is "In Process for Shipment". It apparently takes another 3-5 business days to get the Advance Replacement drive sent out.

No matter what kind of gear you have, or how much of it you have, Gear Keeper has a clip for you. No matter what your profession, and no matter where that profession takes you (above ground, under ground or under water) you can use their products to keep your gear handy at all times.
If it is something as simple as keys, flashlight or pocket knife or more involved like radios or guns, you can keep your gear secure!
I've been using their Low Force Key Retractor for a few years now and it has outlasted those old round, metal key retractors hands down. And it is a lot quieter too, unless you count the jingle of the keys as I'm walking. The tough, coated nylon cord they use is great for longevity. We've eaten at OG on many occasions. Today it was for lunch with my Grandmother for my birthday.
We got there around 1:30 and we still had about a 15 minute wait for a table. They were busy yet. But it is Christmas season so many weary shoppers were probably getting a late lunch too.
On today's meal was:
Chicken strips and pizza (for my 2 daughters)
Minestrone soup for my grandmother
Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo for me
For the life of me, I can't remember what my wife ordered. I know it was a pasta dish (does that narrow it down or WHAT?)
I know my daughters loved their meals, they ate real well.
My wife later mentioned that she wished she would have been more careful on what she ordered since she needs to be mindful of the balance of her intake.
I heard no complaints from my grandmother, so I KNOW she liked her soup.
With my Steak Gorgonzola, I loved the steak. But did not care for the rest of the dish. I was feeling adventurous since it was my birthday and ordered something I hadn't gotten before.
We have received top notch service at OG in the past, so we were a little disappointed with the server we had today. Oh he was attentive and helpful, but still not the caliber of server we've been spoiled with previously.
Also on our check we got the chance to answer their survey and get $4 off our next meal. Great!
Our only complaint with the delivery of the check was the manager person who brought it basically threw the mints on the table.
This is not the caliber of service that we have experienced many times in the history of dining at OG, so I know we will be answering this survey to convey our opinions to OG too.
Don't let our experience shy you away from OG. They have great food and a nice atmosphere. Your experience has a high likelihood of being top notch.
Check out their web site not only for the nearest location to you, but also their menu is online as well.

One of the guys at our church instigated meeting for breakfast at Old Country Buffet. I have been to OCB numerous times but never for breakfast.
We got there almost right at 8:00, when they open, and so they didn't have a LOT of people crowding in. Big plus.
If you've been there for lunch or dinner, you know they have variety. I didn't actually make it over to the lines where the salads are. But I did see some cereal over there when I glanced. But I didn't pay $8.39 to eat cereal.
They had biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes, donuts, eggs (scrambled, over easy, and omelets to order), ham, bacon, sausage links just to name a few. They also had other items that you don't always think of for breakfast (fried chicken, chicken fried steak).
The omelets to order were over in the desserts area. There is no sign pointing that out though. Not sure how one is supposed to discover this since most people don't have "dessert" with their breakfast. But if you do want dessert after your breakfast, don't despair, their dessert area is stocked and running (including the ice cream and yogurt machines).
Just like lunch and dinner, if you leave OCB hungry, you weren't trying.
Check out their web site for a location near you and their menu. http://www.buffet.com/

My wife and I had a date night tonight. A local church was offering free childcare, so we left them off and we proceeded to run a few errands then went to Bennigan's to use the BOGO certificate I got for my birthday from their Bennigan's Club. I ordered the FIRE-GRILLED 8 OZ. SIRLOIN - A tender cut of choice sirloin grilled to perfection. Served with loaded baked potato and broccoli. My wife ordered the SOUTHWEST FAJITAS - Flame-grilled chicken and/or marinated steak served over sauteed onions and bell peppers with black beans, seasoned rice, flour tortillas, sour cream, guacamole, Colby cheese and pico de gallo.
Our waitress, Whitney, was great. She took good care of us during our visit, making sure our drinks were filled and checking that everything was OK.
As I suspected, my wife told our server we were there for my birthday. So they proceeded to parade out of the kitchen with a BROWNIE BOTTOM PIE - A chewy chocolate fudge brownie with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, covered with hot fudge and crowned with a puffy cloud of whipped cream and a cherry.
But they didn't finish the delivery of my dessert before they sang Bennigan's birthday song for all to hear. Was I embarrassed? Mildly. Did I finish off the dessert? Duh? But not without sharing it with my wife first.
We were able to pay for the meal with a gift card we had previously purchased. So, in a way, the meal didn't cost us anything.
Oh, and they are currently running a deal on GCs. If you purchase a $25 GC during your visit, you get $5 off that night's meal AND a GC for $5 good towards your next visit. Pretty crafty marketing!
