Birthdays are always special, so we decided to try a new restaurant in O'fallon, Illinois to celebrate my husband's birthday. There were ten of us sitting around a Teppan Table at The Japanese Garden Restaurant located conveniently off highway 50 in Regency Park while the chef entertained us while cooking our delicious dinner.
The waitress was pleasant and smiled a lot while taking our order. She introduced herself to us by name and joked a bit with us. She brought us warm wet cloths to cleanse our hands before dinner. Once she took our drink order she returned with soup and salad for everyone. The salad was lettuce with a ginger dressing, and the soup was a broth.
We studied the menu for a few minutes and decided to order the House Special which is Shrimp and a very nice cut of Strip Steak. There were several entrées to select from on the menu including Steaks, Seafood, Chicken, and Vegetables ranging in price from $11.95 to $32.95.
Our chef arrived at our table with all the goodies to be cooked and introduced himself. He was pleasant and spoke to each one individually. The first display of entertainment was when he started to prepare the fried rice. He would toss the eggs in the air and catch them on his spatula. This was amazing. He was very good and displayed a lot of enthusiasm.
The fried rice was delicious. Next, he cooked the shrimp with many different sauces and seasonings flipping the shrimp as he prepared them. I could have ate just the shrimp and been very satisfied.....Along comes the veggies and then the steak and chicken.
Entertainment was not lacking from this eventful dinner, nor was the taste of this delicious meal...... At the end of our meal all of the servers arrived to our table with sherbet for everyone, and a decorated pineapple for the birthday man..... Everyone in the restaurant clapped as the servers sang "Happy Birthday" to my husband in Japanese.
This was a great evening of fine dining and entertainment, with a relaxed environment. We enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely go back.

Golden Corral buffet restaurant recently opened at 3360 Green Mount Crossing Road in Ofallon, Illinois offering a delightful array of tasty entrées, vegetables, oriental style foods, salads, and wonderful desserts for the price of $8.50. They also offer a senior price if your over the age of 60.
The food was wonderful, warm, and very appealing. I noticed how the employee's continued to turn the food over to keep everything looking fresh. There were servers with pitchers of tea, coffee, or soda available to refill your glasses before they had a chance to become empty.
I tried a variety of foods, but my favorite was the bourbon chicken. It was so great I had to return for seconds. A few of the other food items I tried were the mashed potatoes, gravy, brussel sprouts, corn, beans and ham, cornbread, and fried chicken. The steak looked wonderful as they made it right before your eyes, but I was so full from all Bourbon Chicken I decided to leave a little room for dessert.
Although, the food is wonderful and a very great value for your money, it was a little difficult getting around the restaurant. Golden Corral could have designed the different areas of food to make it easier to move around. I also noticed that the tables were very close and didn't give you a lot of breathing room.
I would definitely return to this restaurant for another meal, but maybe a little earlier in the day when it would be less crowded. You can visit http://www.goldencorral.com and find a location near you.

Banking is a very personal preference. It has always meant a great deal to me to bank with someone that cared about my needs and was friendly when I walked through the door. I moved to Illinois in 1995 and didn’t know much about the banks in the area so decided to research a few. This is how I found Magnum, which is now Regions. Banks merge and change names so fast today trying to become the number largest it’s sometimes difficult keeping up. Regions has been my bank since my move here in 1995, and have changed names at least four or five times. They recently merged with another bank from the south named AmSouth, and this seems to be a win ,win situation for everyone. The philosophy behind AmSouth is geared to great customer service. This seems to be a great advantage over many of the larger banks today.
Regions bank is located in Belleville, Illinois and offers its customers many services which include personal banking, small business banking, corporate banking, insurance, and investing. Freezing ice and a winter storm left many in my town of 42,000 without power or water last Thursday evening, which included the majority of businesses. It was difficult to find a restaurant or fast food where you could get a bite to eat. The west end of town where I lived was completely shut down so my husband and I drove over to the east end. There was a choice of Denny’s or IHop. We decided to try IHop and wait in line for a table.
The restaurant was crowded since it seemed that most of Belleville decided to visit IHop, also. I am glad we had cash because there was a sign on the door, which read, “ Our credit machine is down.” Trying to serve this many people in one evening must have been a new experience for this restaurant since they ran out of everything. The servers were friendly, and did their best to accommodate everyone. I ordered the International Passport, which includes two eggs, one piece of bacon, one piece of sausage, and my choice of pancakes.
This restaurant would not normally be a choice of mine, but due to the circumstances I found Ihop to be a pretty good selection. The menu has many breakfast items, lunch, dinner, and salads and soups. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you are served. To locate an Ihop close to you go to http://www.ihop.com/

Winter came only too quick November 30, 2006 leaving 500,000 plus residents, powerless during a brisk ice storm Thursday evening. The temperatures dipped to a low of 13 degrees while residents scrambled to find shelter. Ameren http://www.ameren.com/Outage/ADC_RS_StormCenter.asp crew of over 7,000 workers tried diligently to restore power as quickly to the Illinois and Missouri residents. The problem Ameren encountered the most was restoring power to one area could leave another without power. Removing icy limbs was dangerous and required skill. Ameren warned all residents not to stay in their homes awaiting the power to be restored. They suggested everyone to seek warmth from a family, friend, or shelter where there was power.
Ameren restored the power in my neighborhood late Sunday evening, and I was one of the lucky ones. The temperature in my home dropped in the 30’s and took from 7:30 pm until 2:19 am to reach a comfortable 69 degrees. This experience was an eye opener for many, and me and it goes to show that you are really never too prepared for such a disaster.

Dr. Gary London kept coming up as I searched the internet for over a year, looking for the right dentist to aid me through what I feared so desperately. Two weeks ago, I called and finally made an appointment with Dr. London. Dr. London’s office located at 5 Bluff Court in Fairview Heights right off Route 50 is a small, quaint, and simple looking office with a friendly welcome. Walking through the doors for the first time scared me to death, not knowing what to expect. The receptionist was warm and friendly, and had me fill out my paper work. I didn’t have to wait long which is always a plus, since the more time spent in the waiting room adds to my anxiety.
Dr. London greeted me with a warm smile, and didn’t look as scary as the person on the internet. I told him while researching the internet, I kept coming back to him, but his picture scared me a bit. He laughed, and said, “That was the best picture I had to put out there.” Dr. London asked me what took me so long to make an appointment with him. I told him it was the picture. Dr. London immediately started making me feel at ease. He seemed caring and interested in what I had to say, which immediately made me feel comfortable. Dr. London’s staff took a panoramic view of my mouth so that we could discuss my future procedures.
Dr. London is well known for quality care for restorative dentistry, and has been serving the local community for over 25 years. We worked out a plan for the next several months to restore my mouth with pain-free care.
