I found Ephemera Custom Letterpress and Tara, the owner, at the Seattle Bridal Show a few months ago. There were around 15-20 different wedding invitation booths at the show and I was on a mission to find someone to make my invitations so I went around to all of the booths and talked with everyone about what type of invitations they do and signed up for meetings with most of them. At the end of the day, both my friend and I thought that Tara made the best impression on us, so I decided to have my meeting with her first to talk about design and print ideas.
It only took about 5 minutes into the meeting for me to know that Tara was definitely the one that I wanted to do my invitations. Not only was she extremely organized and excited about my wedding, my colors, and to talk about her design ideas she was also extremely sweet! I canceled all my other appointments the next day and began working with Tara shortly after.
She was very helpful throughout the entire process and helped my choose colors and paper, and even helped me word my invitations....she saved me a lot of time!! She designed a unique and beautiful motif for my invitations, that included the invitations, the reply cards, the rehearsal dinner invites, and beautiful silk ribbon to tie all the pieces together - she is a very talented and creative artist/designer.
One of my favorite things about working with Tara was probably the fact that she was so willing to work with me and my budget! She designed a special package of paper goods to work with my budget and was great about making suggestions and where I was able to save money!
I would highly recommend Tara, and Ephemera Custom Letterpress if you are looking for any paper products or wedding invitations. I just received mine in the mail last week and they are absolutely gorgeous!!

These totes are great for dorm rooms - load them up with your shampoo, conditioner, soap, washcloths, shaving cream, razor, and don't forget the flip flops! They don't take up much space either - just set it at the bottom of your closet or in a corner and on your way to the shower just grab your basket and your towel and you're set! No student should be without one of these!
You can find these totes at Bed Bath & Beyond - they are exclusively theirs. They actually have an entire college section in their store so you can pretty much find anything you could possibly want and more for your college dorm room.
Here is the link for the totes:

I've been here twice now, once for dinner and again for lunch, both times were great. I think it might be the extensive menu that will keep me coming back - they have so many different and creative sushi rolls with names like "mango tango roll", "Godzilla roll", and "belltown roll" - I have yet to have a roll that doesn't satisfy my sushi needs! I think they have over 30 rolls listed on their menu - and they all look amazing so I'll be back again for sure.
If you are tired of seeing the same rolls over and over again you need to check this place out - I promise you will not be disappointed! Something to keep in mind however is that my sushi standards are probably not that high - I frequent Blue C Sushi a lot - so this was definitely a step up for me!

Stopped into this store this weekend to pick out some toasting flutes and walked out 2 hours later as a knowledgeable consumer on top fine china, flatware, and stemware brands! This store only carries the best brands out there. These people really know what they are talking about and were extremely helpful in helping me choose the best toasting glasses and other pieces to register for. They were honest about where I could find the best prices and gave me the low down on all the brands they carry as well as which brands I would get the most use of out for what I would be paying.
The cool thing about this gallery is that you can register here for all of you china, stemware, and flatware. They also have a program where you can come back in the store after the honeymoon and they will give you the total dollar amount that was purchased for you. So you can look at all the pieces you received as gifts and can either decide to take those pieces or put the total dollar amount towards something else in the store.
I found their prices were the same as Macy's so I would recommend talking to these people and getting exactly what you want rather than being sold to by someone at Macy's who doesn't have a clue what they are selling you!
My Mom was stoked about her visit to the store too because she found pieces from her flatware that had been discontinued. They let her pick out the odds and ends that she was missing to complete her set!

Aqua Verde is usually packed with people throughout the day and for good reason too! You can walk if you are near the UW or you can drive - they have free parking! The Mexican food is delicious and so are their drinks - check out their extensive drink list which includes great house-made drinks. They have a great patio to sit outside on and to enjoy the view of the water. Or you can sit inside - sometimes its hard to find a seat, but once you do find one you can enjoy your chips and salsa from the yummy salsa bar.
I highly recommend the Mero Tacos and a Tuna-rita!
They also have a window outside that you can walk up to and order food from - if it's too packed inside and out on their patio I suggest ordering from the window and taking it around the corner to the picnic tables on the water.
See photo of us after finishing our tasty lunch!

I went to Spa del Lago a few years ago for mani, pedi, and eyebrow wax - the wax was the best part of my day! I've never had someone spend more time perfecting my brows - and no I did not have a unibrow! They even used the tiny little scissors! I knew she wasn’t going to let me leave that room until my brows were perfect, which they were when I walked out.
The spa is in Madison Park and they charge $20 for a brow wax.
Be sure to check out their website for other services that are offered.

We went to Tokyo on a Saturday night around 6pm - we made reservations so we had no trouble getting a table. There is actually a lot of space inside - I'm sure we wouldn't have had any trouble if we hadn't had made reservations. There were 8 of us including a 3 yr old and 3 month old and we were seated at a nice big table. The place was great for big groups and families - I noticed a lot of children who weren't turning their noses up at the food. The chicken teriyaki was great for the 3 yr old at our table.
We ordered a big platter of pretty much everything and I loved it all. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but pretty darn good.
I will say that the parking was awful. They share a parking lot with The Keg, Applebees, and QFC. We drove around for awhile stalking people to get their spot - it wasn't pretty.

The hand shaved chow mein is great, general tso is amazing, and the shrimp with chili sauce is fantastic!
If you haven't been you need to stop in for lunch or dinner sometime soon. You will not regret it. They are in factoria.

Tulio's was described to me as being warm, cozy, intimate white-linen Italian. The words that come to mind when I think about my dinner there last night are, overcrowded and intimate - so intimate that I could easily overhear the conversation going on at the table next to me, and I was cold, but I'm always cold so I won't hold that against them. And yes the tables were covered in white linen, however they were all hidden under a piece of white paper. Paper isn't intimate to me, nor is it warm.
I think we had the last reservation for a 5:30 dinner on a Wednesday night - most people were there for their pre-theater dinner so that is why it was so packed. Might be better to go on a different night. The people there for the theater were definitely given the star treatment, they all received a special dish before their meal, which we were not offered. I probably would have been ok with it if I wasn't surrounded by all these people getting special pre-theater treats right in front of me. Again I don't recommend going on a theater night - unless you are going to the theater, than you should definitely go!
While the service and set up don't warrant a 5 star - the food definitely does. I thought the food was amazing! I ordered the spring onion soup, the chicken lemon risotto - this was amazing, very flavorful! I also had the Italian spoon cheese cake, which unfortunately I was too full to enjoy.
They offer valet parking for $7 if you are dining at Tulio. I'm definitely going to go back for the food, just not on a theater night!

Great view of Lake Washington, and downtown Seattle. We were seated by the window, which was nice because I like to keep en eye on my yacht while I dine. Actually I think I may have been the only one in there whose boat wasn't parked outside.
The service was great as was the food. We ordered the crispy calamari to start - can't go wrong with that! I ordered the Soup de Poisson that had prawns, scallops, & fish in lobster saffron broth, with crostini and rouille. The soup was delicious, and very filling! I had just enough room for some gelato, chocolate hazelnut gelato.
The food was spendy, but worth it. Great food, great view, great service, and great company what more can you ask for?
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a night out in Kirkland, or looking to take friends or family out to a nice restaurant.
As a side note, I also noticed a piano room off to the side when we first walked in which looked like it would be a lot of fun in the evenings.
