The Milky Way Lounge and Lanes in Jamaica Plain has a martini called the Apple Cider Martini. This martini is amazing! The glass is rimmed with cinnamon and sugar and filled to the brim with apple cider goodness. It is made with vodka, Tuaca Liqueur, and fresh apple cider. It is cold and refreshing. I have never seen this drink on a menu before but will start looking for at other bars. It was delish!

Fast Eddies on Comm Ave has an awesome Greek Salad with Chicken. The chicken is hot, the salad is crisp, and the veggies are fresh. The only problem is, they aren't quite as fast as their name suggests. One night I ordered delivery and the 2 salads I ordered took over an hour. The next time I ate there, I went to the place, ordered my salad and waited. I was the only customer there and it still took forever. I love the salad so much that I am willing to wait but if you are going to order from Fast Eddies make sure you have some time to kill.

I have love Giacomo's in the North End for years. Its such a wonderful experience going there and the food has never disappointed.
Last night, I took a risk at went to Giacomo's in the South End and it was totally worth it. There was no wait, the service was terrific and the food was just as good as the Giacomo's in the North End. It seemed to be more family oriented and casual then the North End location. In case you are not familiar with Giacomo's, it is an amazing Italian restaurant that is, in my opinion, closest to homemade. It is a Boston staple and both locations are wonderful!

Last Saturday I had a reservation for four at Ten Tables in Jamaica Plain. I had eaten there before and had a fabulous experience. When I arrived for my 8 o'clock reservation, my table wasn't available. Since the restaurant is so small, I was told to wait outside. I waited for about 20 minutes. I understand that things happen. Parties show up late, they sit for a long time etc. but when you have a reservation, I expect the table to be ready when I arrive.
Despite the wait, the food and service was phenomenal as always. There is always something new and interesting on the menu. There is also a four course vegetarian meal. The menu usually consist of a fish, beef, and pasta dish all created with a unique flair.
My advice for going to Ten Tables would be to make a reservation, be prepared to wait, and go with an open mind.

If you want a fulfilling, inexpensive, greasy, yummy, breakfast then the Broken Yolk is the place to go. They serve all of the breakfast staples but they also serve lunch items such as wraps and cheese steaks. The place is tiny so be prepared to take it to go if there is no where to sit. Its a fantastic hangover spot with the greasy menu and coffee.

The Joshua Tree in Somerville is a great place for drinks with friends. They have oversized booths and an oversized bar. They have tons of beer on tap and offer pitchers of beer as well. They play a large variety of music but there isn't a lot of room to dance if the mood hits you. Its definitely a college crowd so bring your patience with you. The Joshua Tree is fairly low key and definitely a fun time!

Last night I went to Tip Top in Cambridge/Somerville looking for some good sushi. Unfortunately, I did not find it. I ordered a miso soup, salad, and sashimi. I don't know how you screw up miso soup but it tasted so toxic I had to send it back. Second, I don't know how you screw up salad but they did. At the very least, the sashimi was good. I think they are trying to accomplish too many genres of food to master any one kind. If you do choose to venture over to Tip Top, I would stick with the sushi or sashimi.

Whole Foods Market is a wonderful grocery store filled with organic and exotic foods. I love their produce and prepared foods. Its great that I can get meals that take just minutes to prepare but are wholesome and not processed. Everything there is fresh and delicious. They also have a great selection of vitamins and personal health items. The people who work there are so friendly and helpful. I know that whatever I buy there is good for my body and safe to eat.

The Melting Pot is a great restaurant chain that serves fondue. They have a great deal for two people. Its a three course meal starting with cheese fondue. The second course is the salad of your choice. The third course is the fondue meal of your choice. The meals consist of meat and poultry, meat, poultry, and seafood, and an all seafood meal. They are also very accommodating of vegetarians. Oh not to mention the fabulous chocolate fondue dessert. It is not to be missed. Definitely go with an empty stomach and a huge appetite. It doesn't sound like a lot of food but it fills you up fast. If you're not that hungry, just order the cheese fondue and dessert.

I always enjoyed a nice cup of tea in the evening but I never knew how beneficial it was to my health and well being. I also never knew how many different types of teas there were, each with different flavors, health benefits, and from all over the world. This is where Teavana comes in. Teavana is a retail store mixed with a tea bar of sorts. They sell beautiful tea makers, kettles, cups, books, and of course loose tea. They also make a large variety of tea drinks. Just be warned, this place is addictive. Once you go for the first time, you would want to go back everyday.
