One thing I miss about Rhode Island is Crosswynds Traders. I went to college at URI and this store was great! It has a plethora of marked down name brand clothes (Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, JCrew). Everytime I go back for a visit this is definetly one of my stops. You never know what you'll find, but I usually can find something I cannot live without and a fantastic price! My best find there was a brand new with tags Coach wallet for $20.

Every visit to SD Grain has been pleasant and the sales people courteous. The guys in the back are also very helpful and friendly and answer any question ask. Everyone I have spoken with is honest and knowledgable about their products and what's best for my horses. They carry a good selection of basic needs for all kind of animals, and sometimes even have animals for sale such as rabbits or chicks.

The Pacific Coast Horse Show Association (PCHA), a non-profit corporation, has as its main purpose the promotion and development of the sport of horse showing, primarily in the Hunter/Jumper and Western disciplines. The PCHA office computes points in many divisions offered at PCHA-sanctioned shows for members and horses that are registered with the association. Every January, at the PCHA Annual Awards Banquet, some 300 Year End Championship Awards are given. It is a well-respected association which draws many riders every year to compete for the year-end awards. They approve about 150 shows per year.

I have used Cargill when in a bind, and could not use my normal shipper. They are a large shipping company with reliable drivers that have lots of experience. I always see them on the road around here as they do alot of business at Santa Anita Racetrack. You won't get the personal service of a single rig operation, however they are a reputable shipper that is nation wide.

Recently I went to The Melting Pot which opened not too long ago in Old Town, Pasadena. It was a very tasty and a fun eating experience. We all got the "Pasadena Premier - Big Night Out" special. I recommend that since it allows you to try all the fondue courses. For the cheese course we had the Cheddar Cheese Fondue which was awesome, next came the salad, then you choose your cooking style for your main course. We had Coq Au Vin which was great with the lobster tail, filet mignon, new york strip, and other things they brought to cook. Don't miss the chocolate fondue - it was really good even though I was completely full by then. We had the Original which has peanut butter mixed in. I recommend going here hungry. It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious.

Parking can be difficult to find and service slow at times. It is a good place to go with a group of friends so you don't notice the long wait to be served. The sushi is good, especially the specialty rolls and the appetizer selections. Try the "Stuffed Tomato" - delicious. The spicy seafood tartar and the tuna tar tar were heavenly. They also have a very eclectic drink menu and a nice atmosphere.

I am a big fan of Shabu Shabu, and was disappointed with The Boiling Pot. The portions are small and it is more expensive than other Shabu Shabu restaurants. It definetly did not seem as authentic as others I have been to. I would recommend TT Shabu in Monterey Park (141 N Atlantic Blvd) or Shabu Shabu House Restaurant in Littel Tokyo (127 Japanese Village Plz Mall) instead.

This is where you will find the most elegant and well-crafted fabric horse products of the kind that are available. The service is excellent! Every single order is taken and entered into the computer as a custom order. All details are spelled out according to the customer's specific requests and needs. Top professionals, such as Beacon Hill, Old Salem Farm, Karen Healey Stables, Brookway Stables, and The National Horse Show use Clothes horse to make thier custom stuff. My horse has had her blanket for years and it is in great shape - they are made to last.

We just went to Ruth's Chris last night and it was fabulous! The service was excellent - you get both a server and and assistant server. The wine list is extremely extensive. They also have a great list of specialty martinis. The steaks were melt in your mouth good. I had the ribeye ($36). Not cheap, but worth it. Side orders are separate, but the portions are big and can be shared. For example the baked potato is 1 lb! Great ambiance. Make reservations since this a new and popular restaurant.
