I just purchased a 2005 Toyota Camry 9 days ago at Ralph Hayes Toyota. I always thought that you got the best deal at larger car dealers, but my husband and I decided to try our luck at Ralph Hayes, our local dealer. First we test drove a Camry with lots of options (that we decided we didn't want/need) and then decided on another Camry LE with the options we were looking for. Mark Farrington, our salesman was not pushy or trying to get us to make hasty decisions or trying to make us purchase options we did not want. After going inside he made us an intial offer of 18,775 (21,800 sticker price), but we told him we were looking for somethign a little lower. He made a final offer of 18,300. We told him him we'd leave for lu nch to talk it over. After leaving we went to Toyota of Greer (you know the huge dealership you always see commercials of on tv). We test drove a car and then went inside to see what kind of price we could get. The salesman made an offer of 20,400 (21,800 sticker price). We told him that we had already received an offer of 18,300. He went back to see if he could meet that price and told us he could not sell the price for less than what they paid for it. So, we left their dealership and went back to Ralph Hayes where we purchased the car. We bought the car for about 600 over invoice, which I believe is a great price! Make Ralph Hayes Toyota your first (and last) stop when in the market for a new car!

The Sweetery is the best place to go in Anderson to satisfy your sweet tooth. They have amazing cakes that you can order for special occasions. My work ordered a tray of their assorted cookies and it disappeared in a matter of minutes. Their employees are also very friendly and helpful.

TCBY is a great "better for you" ice cream chain. I love their Parfaits (where you get to choose 3 toppings and 2 kinds of ice cream), but other than that they are nothing too spectacular. This particular store does have a drive thru which is convient if you don't mind the possible mess! I have been to this location on 2 or 3 different occassions over the past few years and have always found that they have very poor help. The store is never very clean. All of the talbes are sticky and dirty from spilled ice cream, and they often have run out of toppings up front (you stand there and wait for them to find them from the back). If you desperately want the yogurt which other ice cream stands do not offer visit TCBY, otherwise you are better off going to Brusters or one of the many other ice cream parlors!

If you are looking for a quick meal that is the cheapest out there you'll have to stop by Ci-Ci's Pizza! $3.99 for an adult buffet which includes salad, pasta, pizzas and desserts. You may read about the Low Carb Connoisseur online and find yourself interested in checking out the store. This is exactly what happened to my mother. She has been on the Low Carb diet for about a year and read about this store online. It advertises that it is the online leader in LC products and asked me to stop into the store one day to pick up a few things for her. She showed me the website and all of the pictures of the inside of this store. It looked just like a regular supermarket. So, one day I make my way to the LC Connoisseur in Anderson and find that it is a very tiny little shop with only about 20 different products. They sell the same items that all of the grocery stores and even Walmart sells. The only difference about the LC store is the prices. Wal-Mart sells the same LC cookie or bread mixes for $1 a box that the LC Connoisseur sells for $6.99!! The people working in the store are also very pushy and try to tell you how great everything is to make you buy it. The Low Carb Connoissuer will just waste your time. You are better off picking up whatever LC items you can find at Bi-Lo or just purchasing them from Atkins.com!

I want to preface this by saying that I really like Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They offer beautiful products for your home at a fairly reasonable price (some items are a little too expensive - $50 wastebaskets come to mind). However, the store in Anderson is not worth visiting. The Anderson store is a smaller version of the normal size BB&B stores and does not carry even half the stock of a normal BB&B store. Additionally when I visited the store one day with a coworker on our lunch break, we had a wait 45 minutes and had to be assisted by 4 clerks to simply order an item off a registry (because they did not have it in the store). The line ended up being 10 angry people behind us. Save your time and get a much better selection by just driving to their Greenville stores.

If you are in the market for dvds, cds, or even electronics Best Buy is an ok place to shop. They run pretty good prices on their dvds in the week that they come out and if their price is not low enough they price match to meet their competitors price. BB also sells a wide variety of tvs, audio, appliances and computers. You can often purchase these items and get 12-24 months no interest on your purchase, but don't expect anyone in the store to offer to help you with any purchases. Most likely they will not be able to answer any questions that you have and will not come to offer their assistance. You will have to hunt someone down (usually you must go up to customer serive to get some help) and then let them know what you've already decided to purchase. You will get good prices and they offer other interesting things to get you into the store, but if you need someone to assist you in making your decision you are better off going to Circuit City.

If you are in the market for any kind of jewelry Kay's Jewelers should be your first stop! You will find a great variety of earrings, rings, watches, and everything else at Kays. Their sales associates will offer to help you as soon as you walk in the door and if you let them know you are just browsing they will leave you alone. They will clean and inspect any of your jewelry for you at no charge. All of my jewelry has come from Kays and when I've sent off my engagment ring for repairs it has always come back within a week. The sales associates have kept in touch with me to let me know what is going on with it. Kay's Jewelers is a great place to shop for all of your jewelry needs!

I am not a fan of Goody's. I have looked around the store a couple of times, but never made a single purchase. It seems that their stores are very disorganized. I can never find anything I like in their stores. Goody's is a good place to find juniors and mens jeans, but other than that don't waste your time.

The AmStar is really the best movie theatre in Anderson. It is pretty new and features stadium seating (where you don't just see the head of the person in front of you) and really comfortable seating. Each person has a bucket seat much like what is in your car plus armrests with places to hold your drink or popcorn. They have a great sound system and the pictures always look great. Just like any other movie theatre this one is freezing and you'll have to remember to bring a jacket or blanket!
