I was recommended to visit this bakery by Kathy at Kasia's Bridal for my wedding cake. I called and asked for Fabiloa (as suggested by Kathy) however, she was not available. I did end up visting with Joanne. My visit was very informative. I was able to have a tasting with my finace and mother. I'm very happy to have made my appointment here. We did purchase a few of their delicious concoctions out of their cases to take home, we even were able to purchase a miniture cake with the flavor we chose for our wedding, which came in handy as we had guests coming over inthe evening, so we were able to get a consencous on taste. We all definitely enjoyed the selection and flavors. I felt like I was eat delicious imported european pasteries! Highly recommended. I will update my review after our wedding.
Pros: Delicious

My family and I planned on going to Wholly expecting the usual crowd and its well known 45 minutes to an hour wait. But, thanks to the advise of the other diners of this site, I called ahead and was put on a wait list since they do not take reservations. Once there, we waited approximately 2 minutes, if that, before being seated. The service was friendly and prompt even though they were extremely busy. The food was outstanding, hands down the best Mexican eats in the north burbs. Even if we had to wait the usual 45 minutes it takes to get a table, the food would have been well worth it. I say go in expecting a long wait with a good attitude, and a smile on your face; you will be treated in kind, and with some awesome food to boot. You wont be disappointed.
Pros: Great food, very friendly service (you will treated as well you treat the waitstaff)
Cons: Impatient yuppies will find it difficult to dine here since the lines are long but it's for a reason- the food!

My wife and I went to the "Lettuce Entertain You" (a Chicago chain) restaurant a few weeks ago.
This restaurant was dong a great business on Friday noght and it took aroubd 45 minutes to be seated.
We weren't disappointed. My wife had very tasty baby back ribs with a dry rub. I had their signature burger, which was also tasty. I had calamari as an appetizer, which was done correctly, if a bit over-breaded. The service was very nice
The restaurant is actually called L.woods Pine Lodge and has an ambiane of a lodge.
We had a nice time and will be going back again.

Autographed celebrity photos fill the walls of this somewhat upscale restaurant. They are celebrating their 35th year in business. Their steaks and seafood are their specialty and their fairly elegant atmosphere is much appreciated. They have live entertainment on select nights. There is an old fashioned, classy type feel at this famous restaurant. The "Rat Pack", I'm sure, would have been happy here!

As very frequent diners, we have always been made to feel welcome & at home at L' Woods & are always catered to at lunch and dinner, sometimes eating both meals there in one day! Their BBQ Planked Salmon & Pounded Chicken al a Sima are just out of this world. Their burgers, ribs & steaks are superb - right up there with the best. I also like most of their fish dishes, but not the cheddar crusted whitefish which I thought was tasteless and left a bad after taste. Far too many whitefish dishes are on the regular menu. They have great specials that return periodically & we look forward to them. One of them is hot & crunchy tilapia that is mouth watering & should be on the menu everyday to replace 1 of the whitefish dishes. L' Woods offers a large selection of flatbreads that are really tasty! I recommend the BBQ chicken flatbread, but ask them to add goat cheese. It's a real knock out! Their signature tomato bisque soup is fabulous - order the bowl! Their chopped salad is absolutely the best anywhere! Their deserts are to die for! 2 require advance ordering when you sit down - the struddle & a chocolate cake - but they are worth it & are made fresh just for you & serve more than 2 people! Their regular chocolate layer cake & key lime pie are always available & are delicious! Unless you like noise & bustle while eating, I would avoid sitting in the front sports bar area. If you have trouble parking when it's busy, park on Lincoln Avenue! Most people don't know you can do that & often you can get a space right in front! Most of the wait staff is accurate & attentive, though we have had a few who seem to always make mistakes & we try to avoid them. I don't like that someone other than your server brings out the food & has to ask who had what & sometimes forgets ordered odds & ends. Then it usually takes a while for your server to return & check on you, which means you will have to wait for any forgotten items. Make reservations for both lunch and dinner when you can.
Pros: Ambience, Food, Hospitality
Cons: The wait when busy, infrequently the servers can be slow

This restaurant takes deep dish to a deep level. The pizza is at least an inch thick, with an almost bread-like crust. The sauce is tangy and includes real pieces of tomato, kinda cool. The meats and veggies are large and really one slice of pizza will fill most anyone up, certainly no more than 2. Great place to come for a chicago-style experience.

This place has a great salad bar that you can have as an entree or as an addition to your meal. it is a very healthy choice for lunch or dinner. I usually just get the salad as an entree and then get some soup on the side. That combination makes it a very healthy and filling meal. They also have lots of other options and a large menu filled with different sandwhiches and specialty items. it is a fun place to go and have a good meal and this place is kid friendly as well.

No, Lou Mal's style of Chicago deep dish pizza wasn't the original (based on my research). BUT, Lou IS one of the founders of the original deep dish pizza concept. If you ask me, it doesn't matter if they're not the original, because they're THEE BEST!!! I've tried everyone elses pizza and for me, I can't really take the thick layer of tomato sauce most of the places have or the thick dough. Lou made Chicago pizza right with a not too thick layer of sauce and the dough crunchy and thin. I don't know why these other reviewers are complaining since the building is one of the original locations, but the pizza itself is the best and can be delivered all around the world.
Pros: BEST Chicago style deep dish pizza, location one of the originals
Cons: small parking lot, delivery/cooking time is long (but necessary)
