Poor Return Policy 7/22/2010

Don't buy gifts for people who live out of town!!!!! They will only be able to return for store credit which doesn't do them any good if they have to go a distance to get there! I will never shop for gifts at Century 21 ever again! Would give Zero stars if possible. more

new bargain shopper 7/17/2007

Since just moving into the city and on a budget, I came into Century 21 to get a couple of things and loved it!! I found so many designer things for so much less then normal price! The store is a bit messy but def worth the trouble of walking through all that. Your not always going to find your size or but youll walk out with something! more

I love this store 8/6/2006

If you live in the 5 burroughs and haven't hear of Century 21, then you must have been living in a dark corner alone somewhere. This is the destination for discount designer shopping. I'm a label whore, but unfortunately my salary doesn't just let me walk in to Barney's and buy half the store. So Century 21 is my savior. From smaller fashion houses like Marc Jacobs to the wildest Italian designers, if you put in some time and dedication, you'll probably score an authentic coutour piece at this store for a fraction of what you'd pay on 5th Ave. more

Great if you can stand it 5/21/2006

Century 21 is great -- if you're willing to deal with it. This means facing the dubious organization of the store including pawing through rack after rack of stuff that either isn't quite right or isn't your size or is damaged; changing rooms that are mobbed (often I just chance it and don't bother) and other shoppers that are rude and competative. Many of the bargains are on designer goods -- so yes, you can get a $600 dress for $100, but it still isn't cheap. I find it to be an especially good source for suits. more

My Favorite Place! 4/13/2006

I fell in instant love with this store! It is like a huge TJ Maxx but cleaner and 100 times better! Wonderful name brands and dirt cheap prices! I love their selection and once again, the prices couldn't be better. I bought a Kate Spade wallet for $15! A beautiful dress for my daughter for $10 - whether you are a life long New Yorker or just in town for the day, this is a must stop! more

discounted brand names 4/10/2006

Always wanted Gucci sunglasses, but couldn't afford them? Been eyeing those Manolos for a while but had to leave empty-handed each time? Need a Prada pantsuit to complete your wardrobe this season? Have no fear, Century 21 is located right by the former WTC and is the solution. They offer great discounts that you probably won't find anywhere else; they have a very wide range of goods ranging from bedsheets to chocolate to handbags. This place gets a little crowded, but that's a little price to pay for a big bargain. more

NYC's answer to Filene's Basement 4/4/2006

Yes, NYC does have a Filene's Basement- but truth be told it is like nothing compared to the original in Boston. Century 21 is comparable to what the Boston Filene's basement is- great designer discounts by the bundle. On my last occassion to visit- I scooped up a plethora of Prada items like t-shirts and skirts for under $40 a piece! It was so exciting. On other visits I have found bargains from designers like Chloe and Lulu Guinness. This store has a range of qualities and prices- perfect for any fashionista! more

good prices 4/3/2006

Century 21 is where I go to get most of my shirts, pants, and ties. The prices are very inexpensive compared to other stores. However, there are always A LOT of people here, so the experience might get a bit frustrating. Downstairs, they sell a variety of home goods, bed and bath, and electronics. more

Happy bargain hunting! 3/23/2006

I love to shop here for bargains! Its located downtown, right next to ground zero. Depending on what time of day you go, this place gets really crowded! As long as you don’t mind the crowds, you can find a lot of really nice clothing for really cheap prices! A huge department store with lots of selection, including clothes, shoes, & accessories. Definitely worth checking out! more

the store that does what Daffy's and Filene's promise 12/31/2005

For those who are wondering whether or not to go to Century 21, let me tell you about the types of bargains I have found there: Michael by Micheal Kors pair of brown slacks for $39, hot puma T-shirt for $10, Victoria's Secret underwear for $2 each, a Grail T-shirt for $39 (normally sold for $100). I was also five seconds away from buying a Guess leather jacket for $115 before I remembered that my other financial obligations! They also sell many other high-end fashionable and trendy clothing with deep discounts. I've spotted brands such as Pucchi, Versace Couture, and Marc Jacobs. They also have a home department, and good men's and children's department. This really is a store for somebody who likes bargains, and has some patience because it can get crowded, and sometimes it takes awhile to look through things. more

if you can put up with the crowds... 12/2/2005

this is a great place. but like i said expect it to be jam packed at all times. the selection is definitely iffy and can change from visit to visit. that said, if you have the patience to sift through their stuff you're likely to come away with some gems. huge selection somewhat scattered but for the most part better stuff than the rejects you tend to find at most other discount stores. more

Don't Sell Your Soul... 11/21/2005

for a bargain, if these even exist at Century 21. I would advise to avoid this store at all costs on weekends and other peak shopping times/days. That said, we have not found significant savings here, and some of ther merchandise is found for similar prices at other, less crowded stores like Syms (which is 2 blocks away), Marshalls, etc. more

great store 10/6/2005

this place has almost everything brand name but at a lower cost. Looking for Diesel, BabyPhat, Tommy, Ralph Lauren, etc? Well, this department store to have it. Not only do they have clothes, they offer shoes, handbags, men clothings, and make up as well. Most of the time, the store is pack with people but being in the crowd is worth is to find clothes at bargain prices and being able to save hundreds of dollars more

Wow, a shopping extravaganza! 9/19/2005

Century 21 is not called New York's best discount shopping location for nothing. This five story (maybe more) building houses anything you could possible want from designers all over the world at discount prices. You can get some really great stuff. They have a whole separate shoe building. Take lots of time and you'll have lots of fun! more

All about being lucky 9/18/2005

I have really had little luck at Century 21 finding amazing designer clothes at great prices. I just do not think the store is anything great. You may get lucky looking through so many clothes as long as you do not mind battling crowds and with the fact that you do not if anything fits you until you get back to your home. Overall, I think it is a waste of effort and time but on the other hand I know some people have gotten lucky and found great deals so I can not be a total negative on this. more

Designer Brands at cheap prices 9/7/2005

Century 21 is a really great store to get high quality designer clothes at low prices. I have been there countless times and have always found great bargains. For men, I would say you should always start your search for dress shirts here, especially if you are looking to simply build your wardrobe. You can get good solid white or blue shirts for really cheap. Also, the store is great for ties. You can also get really good deals on shoes. I've gotten two high end pairs - one pair of Cole Haan dress shoes and one pair of Johnston & Murphy dress shoes - for less than $100 each. The couple downsides are that there are no dressing rooms to try stuff on. You have to take it home and if you don't like it or it doesn't fit return it. That's the other annoying area. The lines to return things are usually really long so it's a bit of a hassle. Still, given the great deals they have, this is a great store! more

Find a bargain amongst the madness 9/3/2005

This discount department store is a zoo. It is jam packed with people and the stuff is just everywhere. Most of the clothes are unfolded and in piles. Things are flowing into the aisles and walkways. But if you can put up with the madness, you can probably find a bargain here. more

Century 21 Dept Store -- a great place for bargains!! 8/29/2005

Century 21 Department Store is located near the World Trade Center. It is a wonderful place where you can find bargains on higher end clothing. It sells both mens and womens. Sometimes you have to search a bit for the deals -- but they are definately there!! The only con is that the customer service isn't great and the store is almost always crowded. But if you're looking for a deal on some higher end, name brand clothing -- it's definately worth the trip. more

why shop anywhere else 8/23/2005

this place is phenomenal for clothing. i am no fashionista, but i consistenly pull good stuff out of here at great prices. i dont have to wear ties any more but when i did, i could get a tie with a $75 manufacturer tag on it for 1/3rd the price. real name brand stuff - not 2nds and defects like you find at marshalls. bot a couple of suits here too. and my wedding tux! highly recommenede. downside is it can get very crowded. dont be shy about pushing people out of the way. more
