best ice cream/gelato ive had in the city hands down. they have real intreasting flavors, textures are superb and its better than anything you'll find in italy. the prices are pretty reasonable. my only knock is that its in an off the beaten track part of town. i also wish, like ciao bella, that these guys would mass market this stuff more broadly (i.e, sell prepackaged pints in supermarkets, etc).

its a friggin deli.... and not even a great one at that. no business in the times square area tries to stand out. i think they figure they can rip off the new tourists who stroll through the door every day - and this is one of those businesses. i work nearby and stop in every once in a while cause its not as overpriced as everything else in the area. but everytime i bite into something from there i find myself wishing i had eaten elsewhere

i am an ice cream nut. i would only say that their ice cream is ok. not to mention its outrageously priced. you gotta pay like $5 for a thimble full of ice cream. their ice cream flavors arent that unique either. while i dont typically like sorbets, however, these are quite good. the champagne blackberry is killer. you can taste the champagne which doesnt overwhelm... however, if its ice cream youre after, take a stroll a few blocks to it laboratoria gelateria. better selection and prices

if you live in chelsea you dont have to make the trip down to the west village anymore. those magnolia spinoffs are bredding like rabbits and one is coming to your neighborhood soon. they have basically the same exact stuff. i havent tasted them side by side but cant imagine they are any different. its all good but the peanut butter pie and icebox cakes are my favorites. everyone else seems to love the cupcakes.

i just dont get what all the hype is about. there are far better cupcakes in the city. theirs are very decorative, but they are kinda on the dry side. their selection of baked goods doesnt extend too far beyond what their name suggests. one other thing, we did go there to use them as a potential wedding cake vendor. they were pretty rude. they basically said, 'buy a cupcake. if you like it we'll make a wedding cake of it'. last time i go in that dump
2 stars only cause i cause i have a weakness for baked goods in general

ive been a long time runner and recently started having some knee/achilles heel problems. i ask for advice on shoes in foot locker and the guy looks at me like i have two heads. these guys, however, really know what they are talking about. they found shoes that help with my heel after diagnosing my running and a strap that helps with my knee. i've been back in loggin in the miles again after i was ready to never run again. very, very good.

we didnt have the wedding here - it was on the west side, but we had the rehersal dinner and brunch on the east side of midtown. in looking around this hotel seemed a much better value than alot of other things in the neighborhood. they were very accomidative. the rooms were quite nice - contemporary feeling but not overwhelmingly so, you know the all white kind or the ones where its so dark you need a flashlight... the only knock was that the rooms were a tad on the small side.

the agent wa like a friggin pit bull. in fact it was mildly annoying cause he kept chasing me out of my apartment every sunday so he could have an open house there. i've never seen a broker work so hard on a property. by the time we sold it i think he told me we had north of 250 potential buyers go through my doors. i was concerned initially that they wouldnt have the marketing power of a corcoran or elliman but he did get the buyers there and ultimately get it sold at a decent level.

yeah, its a candy shop. big deal. they dont have anything particularly unique in here. just lots of weird decor and high price tags. i guess theres a novelty factor for kids but i dont think they had great stuff inside - just fancy packaging. like m&m's which cost way more by the pound than they do at the food emporium. if i were you i'd walk your kids through here and they stuff em with a snickers bar out of the deli around the corner
