I went to this NYU Trained MSW for several months, and although she was very nice and was recommended by a friend, I did not find her insightful or useful. The was inexpensive, but unfortunately was worth the price. See my review of Carole Trevas, for a good, but very expensive alternative.
Again, just an opinion. My friend who recommended her said she helped him out. But I personally think she doesn't "have it", and as a friend, if you are recommended to her, I would have to advise against it.

Only went to 3 sessions with Carole, but found she was very sharp and has a good ability in using whatever techniques she's employing to get at the most important matters. Intelligent, perceptive, and my sense is that she would be very effective. Like many therapists, she's on a sliding scale, but her scale last year was very high (at a regular rate $200/hour it's hard to go too far down from there). If my income were much higher, however, I'd definitely feel comfortable using her. Even in 3 sessions, I felt like I really learned something and made some suprising (but genuine) discoveries that would have been hard or near impossible to realize without guidance. She's trained in a number of different techniques, but is not religious about any of them.A friend of mine, who's a couselor, suggests that more than 60% of therapists are not helpful. Carole, I believe does not fall in this category. Hence, a rare and wonderful find, if you can afford it...

Hi Gordon,
Maybe this is too forward, but I'm a freelance photographer (website is www.soleafoto.com BUT is under construction for about 2 weeks) and have experience with many types of shoots. I can send you samples if interested. I also used to work in an elementary school so I'm used to working with kids.
If you are interested, we might be a good match?
cheers,

3 months ago I broke my arm. This is how I came to
be a client at Physio Sports Center. In addition to
having excellent therapists, it also has a fully equipped gym. (I should mention ... there's a charge for appointments cancelled with 24 hours of the scheduled appointment). I can't speak highly
enough about the care I've received. I don't
suggest anyone break an arm ...but if you're in
need of physical therapy, this is the place to go.

The Fifth Avenue Center, now located on Broadway - but don't let that confuse you - offers personal counseling and psychotherapy for patients with problems ranging from stress to substance abuse to more serious mental illness.
In the 4 years that I've gone there I've had 3 therapists (due to my scheduling changes), and all three of them, even with varying levels of experience, were great. The offices are a little bland, due to them being shared by the entire staff, but the counselors do what they can with prints and plants, and it's what goes on in the offices that really matters anyway.
There's also a psychopharmacologist on staff who you can meet with separately to discuss medication.
Prices are charged on a sliding scale (I paid $50 per session), and most insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid.

More
I've been to St. Mark's Veterinary Hospital twice - both for sick pet rats. I really, really appreciated the fact that they were as respectful to me as they were to people who came in with more traditional pets like cats and dogs. The desk staff and all of the vets and assistants that I spoke to were very nice, calm and knowledgeable, and, most importantly, gave a sense of understanding that when your pet's sick it can seem like the end of the world. I was also impressed that the vet helped me understand what was wrong - like showing me how she could tell that my rat was dehydrated.
I was particularly impressed when I had to take one of my rats in to be put to sleep. The Dr. explained what was going to happen and, even though it was already early evening, gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye. The experience hit me harder than I expected, and the vet and the receptionist were both so concerned at how much I was crying that they checked to make sure that I had somewhere to go and someone to be with afterward.

More
Along with being a custom t-shirt printing shop (see my other review!), Social Tees houses a grassroots animal rescue organization.
Robert, the owner, specializes in rescuing exotic reptiles, has many of them in the shop, and has been in the paper several times with some of his more rare animals.
He also, however, has a heart for the furry and takes in more cats and dogs (most brought in by people in the neighborhood) than he can probably handle (he's also had pet rats, mice, birds and goodness knows what else). Even though it's not a big organization, Robert ensures that his animals find good, responsible homes and has a screening process for potential adoptive "parents".
If you're not looking for a permanent pet, talk to Robert about lending a hand as a foster parent for a dog or cat (he can't keep the dogs in the store, so he always needs foster homes for them). You can keep them for a weekend or until he (or you) finds them a home. I've fostered 3 dogs and a cage full of mice, and it was great to have some canine companionship for a couple weeks even though I can't get my own dog. Also consider giving a cat a home to scare away mice!
Another idea is to stop by with the kids to check out the snakes and lizards. If it's not busy Robert or one of his volunteers can tell them a little about the animals (my personal recommendation is to make a small donation towards their rescue efforts in exchange for their time).

It's funny because on the surface, this looks like a great vet. The staff are friendly and the walls are plastered with pictures of presumably happy pets. The thing is, he doesn't really listen. He won’t give me a prescription for the food I said worked better than the one he’s put my cats on. He was extraordinarily rude to my friend when he brought in my sick cat. It’s ok if you’re looking for something close, and I’m sure other people will disagree with me, but I’m just not happy and won’t be taking my cats there any more.

I have been trying to get employment through the Tuttle Agency for several months now and I have just about given up hope. They keep encouraging me to send in my resume and call them and I don't know why because they are never sending me on interviews. They should just tell the truth and if they think I'm not qualified or whatever, they should just say so and not get my hopes up. I don't know why I kept bothering with them. I heard good things about them from other people, but I have not had any luck with them at all.

This is a great pet store- it small but host a great variety of animals. The staff is freindly and very helpful when it comes to figuring out animal behavior. I have bought birds, hamsters and lately a cat from them- and I have never had a problem with a sick pet. Any problems you can always call them. Their pet supplies and "food by the pound" is reasonably priced.
