i am a high school senior and have been obsessing with going to parsons for 2 years. i think i am going, but i am trying to find ways to pay for it. i am ready to sacrifice anything for this school and i truly want to be there. i am middle-class so i dont really qualify for financle aid but i am not rich enough to pay for it neither are my parents. what should i do? i really really really dont want to compromise this education. i want this so bad i am willing to eat bread and water for the next 4 years to cut costs. I have never wanted anything so bad in my life - it hurts. even the gut-wrenching thought of not being able to attend parsons because i cant afford it tears my heart in half. and i havent even been accepted yet....this is how maniac i am about parsons. please - if any one is middle class and some how financed this school - tell me how u did it. i would be soooo grateful!

I have sent over 10 employees to Sobelsohn and all passed the state exam the first time. I still do not get it. Why go to anyone else? And the School charges the lowest tuition in New York.

Columbia University is a lovely place to visit, go to school, or film a movie. The undergraduate wing - whose campuses are located in Morningside Heights around 116th and Broadway - include 3 separate colleges: Columbia College (for general studies), Fu Foundation School for Engineering and Applied Science (Fu SEAS), and Barnard College (a women's college). They all have their own charm. Pick the one that is best for you - you won't be disappointed!

What can I say about FIT, it’s a great school with a low tuition. I’ve enrolled in a few summer classes here and have found them to be very good. The professors are good and so are the facilities. It’s a state school therefore the low tuition costs. This really benefits all of us. You won’t have to dig deep into your bank just to take a class or two. The campus is quite large, occupying 1 whole city block. As you can imagine, its focal department is fashion, however, there are many other fields of art you can take here. They have a nice graphics art department and marketing as well.

The Columbia and Barnard Club is located within the Princeton Club and like most university clubs in the city is a rather stuffy place for more mature audiences. There are dinners and lectures for adults and members can host private events there as well. Membership is pretty expensive and I image that the members are mostly people who graduated more than 20 years earlier.

Columbia University obviously has a great academic reputation and consistenly makes US News and World Report's Top 20 national university's list. There are a lot of great thing about the university, some that are amazing and some that are amazing depending on your perpsective.
One thing to be aware of is that Columbia is heavily tilted towards graduate students with a 2 to 1 grad to undergrad ratio. This is something to keep in mind and does end up affecting the feel on campus.
Also, Columbia is obviously located in New York City. For some, especially those from far away, this can be seen as a boon and Columbia definitely positions itself in that light. You have all of New York City at your fingertips including all the cultural attractions, tons of amazing historic sites, and great restaurants.
However, being in the "middle" of Manhattan also detracts from the college experience. When you are on the Columbia campus, you don't feel like you are in the middle of the city, my impression was that student life is less compact and student centered than at other schools. Friends have coraborrated this and say that student life isn't campus-centered.
There are tons of advantages to attending Columbia, but it's presence in New York and student makeup can' also take away and are things to consider.

As a previous student of Yeshiva University I can tell you that the education is above the par of most universities. That being said It is a college where most students are apathetic and can get away with doing nothing. That is not to say the learning can’t be great as well. Plus they have many courses in Jewish studies and morning classes that expand peoples understanding of Judaism. Not the place to go if you don't like religion though.

The New School Continuing Education program is great if you're working towards a degree, or just want to expand your horizons and try something new.
Every semester classes are offered in subjects ranging from computers, to music, to writing to cooking, and the actual classes within these subjects are incredibly varied. Classes can be taken for credit, or just for fun, and the teachers on the whole are FANTASTIC. Tuition ranges from about $250-$500 for a semester depending on the class, with one day workshops of course being less, and classes with special material needs being more.
I took a writing class several years ago with a fantastic teacher, and it was great fun. The only downside was that since registration was open we got students with varying levels of experience, so if you're already in the field it's worth it to look into the advanced classes.
Visit newschool.edu, or call or stop by 66 West 12th street to pick up a class bulletin. Financial aid is available.

This is a very well rounded school. It has a good reputation in business and students who graduate from there should have no problem finding jobs. But the best part is, it is a CUNY so the tuition is a lot lower than most colleges.
All the students I know who attend Baruch College are very bright individuals. They are great people and they have few complaints about this school.
They also have a new building that was built only a few years ago. The campus is nice and clean. The library has many lounge areas to relax and study. The chairs are quite comfortable too.
