Another good gourmet choice 5/17/2006

This is one of the lesser known, and therefore more affordable gourmet markets of New York City. I would say its selection and quality is on par with that of the Garden of Eden chain and that choosing one over the other is largely based on what's a more convenient location for you. Excellent produce, cheeses and cured meats. I remain dissapointed by the packaged goods selection and bakery. more

How do they pack it in 12/8/2005

Amish is a tiny store but somehow I can always find what I need. I love to shop here for dinner parties because they have the staples (albeit at a sometimes higher price) and delicacies. Their cheese and salami selection is large. The fish doesn't always look the freshest so I've never tried it, but I appreciate that they carry Murray's chicken in a number of different cuts. Also don't miss the sales. Often seasonal fruit is a great buy. more

Incredible Amish Market 8/31/2005

This is one of my favorite places in the city to get fresh produce and meats. Everything is fresh and there is a large variety of fruits and vegetables. The meat is always tender and the staff is very helpful. Their are lots of fresh spreads and pickles jars not to mention the mouthwatering pastries that are baked daily. Also, try a slice of their pizza made with their own fresh ingredients. The pizza is not greasy at all and is definitely worth trying. more

Gourmet food 8/15/2005

Beautifully decorated store with great displays of the food. They carry many gourmet things like different olive oils and cheeses. They have samples of some of the food like some olive oil on a plate and a bunch of bread to taste it. Food is terribly overpriced for basic things. It's understandable for something like wine to be expensive but not for peaches. more
