The Strand 4/13/2006

A nice little book store, although it doesn't have too many books in the impulse buy price range, which is one of my favorite book store features. They sell nice bags. Their religion section isn't good but their fiction and classics sections are, as well as games. Crowded, but that just adds to the atmosphere. You can buy books by the foot here which is silly and expensive but amusing. more

Miles of Books at Reasonable Prices 8/16/2005

I have only been here a couple of times, but I always leave with more books than I should. You can always find something that you didn’t even know that you needed to read. They are very cheap, and I never knew that you could by books by the foot until I visited Strand. more

Just like the main strand books, but less crowded 8/15/2005

Strand books on broadway has a great selection and great prices on books, but its always so crowded. However, the outpost on fulton street has the same prices, a decent, but not as extensive selection, and is much less crowded. Its especially convenient if you work downtown, but even if you don't, its nice to be able to move freely about the store. more

Very New York 8/3/2005

There is definitely something for everyone in this huge new and used bookstore. The books are organized very well and you can find the topics you are interested in. You have to check your bags at the door which is actually good because then you don't bump into other people as much or have to manuver around people's stuff. more
